Clean the inside of the vehicle. Windshield was covered in a greasy fog and it was hard to see. Steering wheel was sticky and left my hands dirty.Ashley P.
The agent who scheduled my appointment to pick up a truck did not tell me that there were two locations on the same road, so I ended up at the wrong one at first. The agent also didn't tell me that there would be an extra charge per mile that added onto the rental fee in addition to me having to purchase the gas to refill. The rental fee and the gas are common sense, but the additional charge per mile makes the advertised pricing blatantly misleading. Finally, I was told by the person at the correct location to fill the gas tank to 3/4 a tank before even seeing the truck. Once inside the truck, I realized and took a photo of the gas gauge which showed the tank being slightly past only 1/2 a tank. This whole experience made me feel completely taken advantage of. I am more likely to try another rental service now in hopes of clearer pricing and not being taken for free gas.christen W.
Sal was very helpful! I had hoped to be there Saturday and have my son help me unload. My son was unable to help me & I am hard headed enough to unload on my own., Sal was patient with me, explained the workings of the location and devices available to move material from the dock to the unit. Ended up needing a second unit just before closing time, and again he was patient, friendly, & helpful. Our original pickup location was closed except for Weekends even though our reservation sent s there. Then we had to find the new location. When we were trying to put the car on the trailer we couldn't use the back chain because someone had padlocked. The tire got a flat on the highway in Tennessee. We were told 90 minutes for the tow truck to fix it, which ended up being 4 hours on the side of the road before they reached us. He then cut the padlock off for us so we could properly secure our vehicle.Renee N.

After some not so pleasant experiences at other locations, this UHAUL location has become my station of choice. The customer service is superb. The place is well maintained and everyone is very friendly and professional. Explain to the customer using this truck how difficult it is to put gas in the tank. It was almost impossible. It's time you upgraded your equipment to more current technology. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone with the truck I had.wayne H.

When I signed to receive the truck, I was told I could use it from 11-3 and if I needed it after 3, I could call and it would be available until 7 for no additional charge. After being told that our truck was ready to go after waiting 30 minutes by the guy managing with a rainbow wrist watch; The Truck had less about a 1/4 less gas than what was marked on the paper. Which I notified the manager immediately and still ended up getting charged for it. On top of that the dolly which I had rented was not in the truck. Which I also notified the manager. Shouldn't have been charged for the gas. Also shouldn't have been charged for the extra time seeing that our equipment rental location was changed at the very last minute, BY UHAUL, to a completely different zip code , that was an hour away from our previous home.Kort H.

Once we got serviceâ€¦ the counter person was amazing-she was working hard and trying running to computers at onceâ€¦ problem is I stood in line over 30 mins with no one behind the counter. One employee we (as in the 7 others in line) watched her come in walk past us not say a word and go on camera and put her feet on a desk. The young lady that finally came in to help said so sorry for the delay I was doing propane and no one else knows how to do anything. Several people left the line and went elsewhere. They have the trucks the space and etc but the system to care for the people paying for it is slow and sad.Christopher P.

Understaffed at check-in. Only two people there at opening, one was brand new and the other got frazzled and had to take a few minutes in the back after dealing with a mildly complicated customer. Return process the next day was terrible. There were 4 trucks queued up to where you could not even pull the truck in off the street and I was there :10 before opening so the trucks in front were from the day before.Jeff W.

Waited for an hour to get to the checkout register. Two employees. One outside that couldn't do much to help move the line along. The guys at the checkout register was doing the best he could but with people not having their DL picture uploaded it made for a long wait. He then was the only one that could hook up trailers so he would have to leave the register to then go hook up trailers. I am sure they are short staffed like everybody else in this town, but with it being a corporate, high volume center, they should have at least another person processing the line.Garrett S.

I called U-Haul to secure storage. They told me the location I wanted was not available but the 4788 Dorchester facility had a unit available and booked it for me. When I showed up the next day it took over an hour to get the unit ONCE it was my turn in line. Finally received unit, went to unit and took another half hour for them to figure out that the unit was not available and I would have to go to another place. Wasted well over two hours on a day when I was already running a very tight schedule. The attitude of the gentleman helping me with General Manager on his shirt was one of frustration and total lack of compassion. He didn't know how to work the system and kept blaming me for not telling him that I was looking for the first month free storage. I figured since I had already made the reservation and had my contract with me which was up on the counter the whole time, he would recognize this. Had he asked I certainly would have told him. Also once he verified that there were locks on the locker I was supposed to have he went back to computer, spent a few minutes punching some keys and said, "Yep, I was right. I didn't think we had any storage. That's why I asked if you had a reservation" When he asked if I had a reservation, he didn't know I had one for storage. He asked in general. So if he knew way back then he didn't have storage why didn't he tell me then instead of wasting over an hour of my time. And why didn't he believe me when I said there were locks on the storage. The man working was a nightmare. It was really busy and they were short staffed but either way, he was turning people down and denying them their rentals very very flippantly. Another staff person had to step in to de escalate a customer because they'd been told by the counter guy that they couldn't get their rental due to a credit card issue despite being referred there by another Uhaul location. It seemed like he enjoyed turning people away. He almost completely cancelled my reservation simply because I wasn't sure if I had lights attached. I did but I stumbled to think about it and he radioed to â€œcancel that orderâ€ it was a nightmare. Plus it took 2 hours.Angela Z.
I drove less than 20 miles and my truck I rented broke down. Called the service center where I rented and ask if I can put them on hold I told him it was an emergency my phone was about to go dead I was on the interstate and it was pouring rain. They put me on hold anyway I called again and they put me on hold again it was 45 minutes until they told me that they had emailed me a contract which had a roadside service number in it. Your late fee policy is inconsistent unforgiving and unclear my due date on the 27th I've been charged a late fee as soon as the morning before 6 am of the 28th. And received numerous phone calls about payment by the 30th. No text message no reminder emails I kept that storage for five years only after I leave then you thank me for my business? I rented a 10x10x8 unit where the door and latch didn’t match up correctly. The round lock I was forced to buy would not work in the lower latch hole so I had use another lock. When I returned a week later I’m locked out. The staff guy refused to unlock the unit so I could unlock my stuff. We finally had to stop all your customers that were waiting so we could force the staff guy to unlock our unit. Upon removing boxes from storage, all stored along the cement wall had mold. The boxes on the floor had water damage. We were on the second floor and unsure how they had water damage. Shelving units - the shelves themselves, also had water damage on the bottom and therefore are no longer useful.
