Exactly what I wanted a van rental to be: quick, efficient, friendly. The vehicle was very clean and, judging from the odometer mileage, very new. Courtney, behind the desk, was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, professional - all the good traits one wants when walking into a business for service. I highly recommend this U-Haul location. I used the auto transport. The unit towed well with and without a car on it. Securing the car was simple however, prior to accepting the trailer I noticed left brake light and few lights didn't work. I accepted the unit and had to use hazards lights which caused car battery to drain. Upon arriving i had to jump the vehicle. Before offloading.

The worker told me i could bring it a little past 2. I brought it back at 2:15 and got charged another day. Also, I know it's in contract but i didn't know to fill it with gas, was charged another $30 for that, it would be nice to know if the workers can relay this information and not lie about the return time.

Process was inefficient and cumbersome. First truck was swapped out for a second truck due to parking issues and the online checkout system was not updated to the new vehicle. Vehicle was only fueled to 1/4 tank, I don't expect to have to refuel a vehicle before I begin a trip. Would not recommend this location.

There was only one person working the desk, doing check in's and answering phone calls, which made for a longer wait in line. The front desk worker did the best she can but an extra person to help would've been ideal in a busy location.

Only thing is renting a truck and there is less than a 1/4 of a tank of gas. My suggestion is to fill tank up and if renter brings it back needing gas charge them to fill up tank. Picking up a truck and having to go to gas station first thing is not good. Other than that I would rent from U-Haul again if II needed a rental.

I went through endless upsetting screens to.reserve and check in. Then I arrive and waited to be helped for 20 minutes, and then they tried to upset me on insurance.and supplies again. They needed a 2nd phone number, which I didn't have, so they said they couldn't rent to me. So I made up a phone number. Why not scan my license during remote check in vice wasting my time on a busy and hectic moving day?

I thought I selected the mobile check in with the app however my account would not provide me with the key location or truck number. So I had to go inside. By 718am the store had a line and only 2 customer service representatives. One representative was friendly and attempted to be quick to help people the other was clearly frustrated and being very short and less helpful to customers. I waited approximately 25 minutes for service and the employee tried to have other people with the mobile check in go in front of me because I explained I was supposed to be doing the mobile check in, my phone showed "thank you for checking in" but they claimed that was something different and wanted me to wait longer. I explained I was already 45 minutes behind schedule because of my wait and needed to meet movers are my home in 15 minutes. They decided to help me and I ended up needing to reenter my card and licence information. I realize that is a website issues but it was just ridiculous since I had already done so online when I reserved the truck. It just added more complications to the process. Having the truck was fine. When I went to return it, there were still only 2 employees and I waited for over 30 minutes to return my truck and was told I needed to stay with it and couldn't leave because they needed to update my record and ask for my card information AGAIN to confirm the charges. The price was standard and fine but the process itself and wait times were ridiculous.

Got charged $30 extra for being 30 minutes late. That doesn't seem very fair when you make the customer do the check in and check out process on their own. I probably could have had the process finished 15 minutes earlier but because I am not a U-Haul professional . I think this policy should be reviewed and possibly a little bit of leniency applied to your customers contracts in the day and age of coronavirus and quarantine.

I reserve a 26ft truck and they give me a 20ft truck. Then tell me for them not having a 26ft truck they will guarantee me 50.00 and I did not receive no confirmation or what they promised me. Also they do not know how to talk people. I am highly displeased

The storage units are made out of plywood and chicken wire. Not secure or safe. It is not ventilated and very hot. Access to the storage is almost impossible. Cant fit uhaul into the storage area and even a normal car is a very tight fit. The 'gate' is broken and not fully.closed and looks.like it's been pried open on the bottom. Zero stars. The uhaul storage in VA Beach is leaps and bounds better than this norfolk location.

I had to wait in an incredibly long line because there was only one person working. I Tried to use the online tools to both return my truck and check in to my storage unit in order to skip the lines but the online services did not work, never gave me an option to check in even though i received an email telling me to do so. Would not rent storage from this location again.

It was not communicated that the elevator was Not working in the rental process. Although inconvenient, it would not have been a problem if the 3rd floor unit had better stairwell access. Due to the narrow stairwell entrance, we were unable to move any large pieces of furniture into the unit. Due to this, my couch is now sitting in my fiancé’s apartment. There is also no indication that the elevator will be fixed anytime soon which makes removing my belongings a a nightmare. I would not have rented the unit if I had known about the access issues. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Apparently the facility had a broken elevator for quite some time. When I tried to move out I had to carry my furniture down a ramp. Much of it got broken as I attempted to do so. Some kind of notification should have been given especially since they still accepted full payment of the storage rent! Also there were rat droppings on most of my belongings! I had to throw a lot of it away. Climate control is overstated as here is no control on the 2nd floor! This was a waste of money for a whole year!

Roaches. Stinky. Scary. Two roaches hitched a ride and ended up in my brand new garage. I had to throw out all cardboard immediately and scrub garage to prevent an infestation. I’ve never experienced a storage unit so dirty. Staff is nice but storage facility needs a revamp ASAP.
