I paid for an air conditioned unit. Every time I went the air conditioning was broken and it was hotter in the storage unit then outside. I should have been refunded the additional amount for the climate controlled unit since it never was air conditioned. When I went to move out the elevator was broken and I had to bring everything down. the stairs.

Had excellent customer service. The gentlemen working helped me check lights and hitch up. My reservation was from Thursday 6:45-Saturday 5:45 but i only needed it for one day. When I came to return the trailer early there was a lot of commotion going on with multiple vehicles and people so I got the trailer as close as I could. He said thanks for trying my best and I asked him if I needed to check out but he said he had me covered. Because of all the stuff going on I didn't want to bother him asking about a refund for the early or a discount and he adjusted it for me without even asking. Thanks man. I hope this gets back to you. The world is shit but sometimes just being nice helps proves that there is still light on the world. Even if it's just $30.

We had 2 units and I've never had so much aggravation. I would get multiple emails and multiple paper notices that threatened us w/ late fees, lockouts and lien notices. One time our electric bill check was sent to you by accident. Even though the check was payable to "SCE&G" it was deposited on your end and it took us months to get a refund. I am giddy happy to be DONE with your company.

After almost four years at that facility I was run off for ALTERED entry and exit procedures. Sylvester Gadson started his campaign of harassment after I reported him to Kimberly Rubino for telling me that wearing a tank top on a 92 degree day at a storage facility was inappropriate. He also threatened Nicole, another staff member, for not making me follow his RIDICULOUS entry and exit procedures. On top of that he constantly spoke to me in a derogatory way every time we interacted all the way up until I left. His final act of TYRANNY was putting an eviction notice on my unit and adding a second lock denying my access. After it was understood that I had to go he wouldn't remove the extra lock from my unit to allow me to put my things in such an order that would allow a prompt exit until the day I had to move. I've had brain surgery which left me with epilepsy. I also have high blood pressure and asthma. HE KNOWS THIS. I also take medications for depression and anxiety. I am homeless because of my condition, he also knows this, yet he kept up the HARRASSMENT until he could find a way to evict me. I explained all of this to his manager Kevin Anderson and his response was that he stands by Sylvester's decision no matter how long I've been a tenant. So now I'm going to take my own action with the Better Business Bureau.

Items in the unit had mold, and a few things had to be thrown away, thought by paying for a climate controlled unit it would have prevented this issue. It was a bit warm and humid with temps above 80 on the thermostat. There was also a smell of moth balls present on the linens and mattress. I would recommend storage only for a short term solution.

I paid for climate control and when arriving on 7/29 found out that air conditioning was out in Building E for over a week. Then found out that elevator was also out of service for over a week and I would have to use the stairs to move all of my items out! Very poor experience and no steps were take to try to assist with the situation.

Staff did not seem to care about any of my needs and did not seem interested at all. i left with my uhaul and got all the way to my home across town before realizing the lock was never removed from my uhaul so i could not access it to move furniture. I had to take the entire truck back to the store to get them to remove a lock that should have been taken care of. When i brought the truck back, the staff member did not seem apologetic or concerned at all. very disappointed in this location.

This experience of renting was good aside from the truck reserved was not going to be back in time & it was made out to be my issue to handle. It was handled by suggestion of another truck from me. The truck I rented smelt so bad in the cab portion. Other than that the rental agent was very polite and professional and helped out with all my questions! He even stayed late for my return of the truck! He defiantly deserves recognition for handling himself professionally with the minor issues and not to mention with the homeless people trying to get into trucks during business hours!!! This hurts my soul that this city has to make this a day to day issue for this hard working guy.

Dear UHAUL, In this day and age where its so easy to complain, I must tell you what an amazing job the GM (Sylvester) did in not only getting our UHAUL prepared but also in showing us the storage unit. 1) We had a lot of trouble checking in. Were told that there wasn't a unit available for us. LONG process. Eventually we got one, so all was well. The people on the phone definitely were not in sync with the people on site. There should be better communication so that customers are not misled. 2) Unit had a rat trap in it. YUCK! Maybe in the halls, but in the unit itself - right next to the mattresses etc. YUCK. Disgusting. Maybe that is standard practice - I don't know - but it was definitely not appealing. 3) We arrived (after a 10 hour drive) to get stuff out of our storage unit. We arrived at 8 pm, as the website said the access hours were until 10 pm. When we got there, it was locked. The attendant said the access closed at 8, despite the fact that there were signs posted ALL OVER the place (front door, gate, elevators, website, etc.) that said the hours were until 10. I think the guy just didn't want to stay that night. VERY VERY Frustrating as we had a very short window in which to do our work. Extremely inconvenient. It's fine if the hours are 8, but just post that onsite and online so people can plan accordingly. Very frustrating to arrive and not be able to get in. 4) Unit was supposed to be climate controlled, but it was definitely hotter inside than outside -- in South Carolina in the summer! Frustrating to pay more for a climate control unit and then have it be so hot inside.

I would recommend this location, but would not recommend our original location of Bluff Road - closed and did not notify us or try to change our pick up location prior to our arrival. Owner was not at the location upon our arrival so we had to call traffic to see what we could do.

My truck had a low tire and an oil change light on. While these did not cause me problems with the rental, they made it difficult to see the milage when I went to return my truck after hours. I would say making sure these issues were taken care of prior to rentals would improve the experience.

Truck was in rough shape. The elevator wasn't working properly but an employee got that fixed for us. The hallways to get to our unit were extremely narrow and we had to end up carrying a sectional sofa. It is advertised as climate controlled but it was extremely hot in our section.

I set a reservation for the Sandhill location with the equipment being available. But received a message that the equipment was not available and I had to travel about 12 -15 miles further away. I also had to return it to that location also. This was a major inconvenience and affected my time with using the equipment.

The app that I've used at other locations to pick up the truck was great. I uploaded pictures of the truck before and after, received my keys from a lockbox, etc. This location opened right after 9 and there were a line of disgruntled customers ahead of us. The app was slow and said we needed a reference check to drive (which we've never been asked for in the six or so times I've done this previously) and we could not reference for each other (we are engaged). The truck we received was dented and the gas was on empty, but the app never asked me to show before/after pictures of the truck condition- it only asked for “after” of the inside of the truck and gas. It was very inefficient to pick up the truck, though the return process was better.

Regarding my answer of "No" on question #3 about the facility being clean and maintained: The office and front are always kept maintained. However, when I drove to my new rental unit, there were two (2) old/dirty campers and two old cars immediately in front of the unit. Also, just a security note: The side gate that is located near Building D, was left open and did not close the whole time I was in the office setting up my rental and/or when I was in and out of my unit. Other than those two (2) things, everything else is satisfactory. The Staff has always been very courteous and helpful every time I have visited for boxes, tape, and now the rental.

My workers there are always pleasant but I was upset because when I move in the elevator was broke and when I moved out 30 days later the elevator was still broke whom ever owes this Uhaul doesn't care about the customers to have a storage unit on the 3rd floor and to have to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs just to get my things out was ridiculous....my move in and moving out was an horrible and I wouldn't want anyone to go through the same experience because the elevator was broke it took us longer to move .....in any business it should be to accommodate the customer it shouldn't be about the money only just poor customer service

The reason I chose U-Haul was because of the elevator s. When my movers arrived to move me out, the elevator was not working and the only reply I received from mgmt was that they would have to request a work order. I was very dissatisfied that U-Haul would offer units on 2nd floor with inoperable elevators. I will not be using the Elmwood location again and will not recommend to anyone.

the truck was full of cigarette ashes, dirt, trash, and you couldn't see through the windshield b/c of the dirt. Miss Green sent a helper to put $30 worth of gas in it b/c she stated it was empty. I got 9 miles before the gas notification stated I only had 49 miles left before empty. I put $50 in it and it took me 95 miles and still had more gas than when I left the original facility. I'm rather sure the $30 worth of gas was never put into this rental truck. The back door also had a pad lock on it, which I ended up having to have cut off. Cost us a lot of time that could have been better spent moving.

Tomega was great with getting me setup after the 15-hr drive from Texas. She even went to the unit with me to make sure that I found it OK and helped guide me in getting the U-Haul trailer closer so that I did not have such a distance to unload my items. I truly wish there were more individuals like her in helping the customer get settled. After the long drive from Texas it was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for ALL of your assistance and guidance in getting this unit.

The employees at the front desk greeted me with major attitudes. There were people waking around on the premises that did not work there. They took me up to my storage unit and there were no lights on in that area of the hallway. It is not a safe environment and I would never have stored my items on this facility?! This is my third time in a year to use this location. Once again, everything was nice and clean. Please get them some real AC and probably heat as fall is approaching. The young lady, i think Ms. green?, she was there at 8:00 am 09/25. She was spunky, helpful, a comedian and speedy.

Y'all need to get your employees at this location proper AC. There is literally a cardboard box on one side of a double door halfway blowing cold air in there! Terrible. The young man and young lady were friendly, helpful, and had a sense of urgency. Thank you.

The facility was filthy and not well maintained. The drive up unit had rats. I literally found a rat that got stuck attempting to squeeze in the doorman died. There were rat feces on top of several of my boxes and storage containers. The in-door, supposed climate controlled unit was hot and not temperature controlled. Items I stored have heat damage-some beyond repair. The cost of the storage units I rented vs the actual service I received is ridiculous. Not only would I never recommend anyone use UHaul storage, I will caution anyone and everyone against it, unless they are prepared to throw away all of their stored items. Additionally, every time I have rented a truck from UHaul, it has been filthy. The most recent rental experience was especially horrible. My reservation was made through the customer service number. The representative assigned me to pick up from a “Stop & Shop” because I wanted to pick up the truck at 7AM. This is not a UHaul location, so, I was unable to scan and check out the vehicle. The owner of this location was rude and not at all helpful. While the location was supposed to open at 8/8:30AM he did not arrive until almost 9:30AM. I was clear that he did not want to do business with women and proceed to only respond to request when my father spoke. However, based on my other horrible UHaul experiences, I’m not at all surprised that this entity was selected as a UHaul dealer. I look forward to never having to use UHaul again.

Renting a truck from uhaul to move her stuff from storage, was a disaster- according to online I prepaid for a truck to pick up at the place where I had a storage unit. We got there and no truck - the lady called around and found another place 5 miles away and got us a bigger truck from another facility- no one was there! Had to call First Lady back. To summarize we went to 3 places before we got a truck - that was way bigger than I felt comfortable driving- got us 2 hours behind schedule- not a good experience. Will not rent a truck again from uhaul

Was unable to access my unit twice do to closing at 7pm. When I removed all my stuff from the unit I asked if i moved everything out today would i get a refund on remaining paid days th manager assured me i would because i would have left some stuff to get full use for my money paid. When i contacted customer service they said no refunds period that is a scam and i will fill out as many reviews as i can to inform people of uhauls shady practices and will never use your services again
