Get a new check-in experience. The automatic check-in is horrible and never works correctly. The on-site management team had to get involved in order to get it to work and this was not the first time.sott C.
Truck had some problems. I reported them to attendant. HATED check in procedure. I'm NOT a tech person and don't like the photo BS with my drivers license. They can make a copy, but the "smart phone" BS is a pain in the ass. especially when their equipment wasn't working properly.Gregg L.

Melvin from the Elmwood location was super helpful. However, I had to go to 3 separate u haul locations because my original location didn't have the reservation that I made. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, and I expect to receive the $50 equipment guarantee that was promised.JONATHAN P.
I was scheduled for a 15' truck and was told when I arrived I would have (and need to pay extra for) a 20' truck. I did not need or want a 20' truck. When opening the back of the 20' truck I saw there were no tie down straps. There were also no tie down straps available in the store of warehouse. So I was switched from the 20' truck to a 15' truck that I wanted in the first place. It had (2) tie down straps that required me to go to Home Depot in Columbia SC to buy 2 additional straps and a Master Lock to lock the trucks back latch as one was not suggested or provided. Otherwise, the truck was in good working order and the trip went well. The lady I worked with was very patient, and persistent to get everything squared away before I left, so no blame on her. It would be helpful for Uhaul not to take a reservation for the correct truck if they can not hold (keep) the reservation.GARY J.

This has been my second truck rental with uhaul, recently. Both times have been at the Elmwood location. During both times, the fuel and mileage were off prior to the rental. The first time, when I went out to inspect the truck. I found the fuel and mileage wrong. I went right back to the counter and the door was locked and everybody was gone. I had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to come back to the office but the office was filled with four employee's during the rental. Ms. Green was the one that handled the rental and displayed complete professionalism and great customer service skills but stated that she was going to lunch after the rental everyone else must have went on lunch or break too. Finally, an employee did come out and take a picture of it. The rental this time was different. The counter person was being rude and was upset because of something that Ms. Green was on the phone handling. she would talk to me rudely and then turn around and speak to a fellow employee, politely, with Ms. Green sitting next to her. It started with her stating numerously that they did not have an furniture dolly. i stated okay but after she repeated it. I stated, well what do you want me to do. You don't have a dolly. I went out to the truck and the fuel was wrong, I immediately returned and she told me to take a picture of it. I stated that I would like someone to come out and look at it. I took a picture of the fuel and Ms. Green signed off on it but no one came out to look at it. I was frustrated and left because I do not work for uhaul. Ms. Green has a great personality and great customer skills but the management of the facility is unreal. I reserved a storage locker on line to later find out that it was none available. This place is unreal. I was charged for 79 miles and went less than 10 miles. unbelievable. i can try to secure cc video from the storage facility and several witnesses to attest to time and location. thanks for your effort in this matter.Terence W.

There is nit adequate parking which delays check out and check in the variable for parking spaces to customer is unmatched especially since this is also self storage no one is going to park inside the gate to go in to the office and this location is always understaffed. Also the on lone check in has a 15 min delay before it initiates the check in/check out screen. This is the first occurrence for the delay not the other couple of tomes I rented a truck from this location the keys were not in a lock box as they are at all other locations why offer the convenience of on line or mobile check in only to have to go inside to obtain the keys in which ever occasion except 5/8 all of the info I completed with my on line reservation the rep at the location took sll the info again invluding scanning my card from a mobile device, 5/8 I explained to the rep I had recently tecovered from COVID and was not comfortable coming inside he was gracious and brought the key out to the van as he too and his family had COVID just 3 months prior so he understood my cautiousness Overall this was the worse experience Ive had at this location since my first rental last February and I assure you this will also be the last time I use that location as well and possibly no longer use U Haul as a whole since there seems to always be a discrepancy on the mileageTemia H.

The entire moving experience was the worst I have had in a lifetime. Uhaul made several (4) major errors that caused us stress and loss of sleep. Not once did they take responsibility for their mistakes. Right down to the Elmwood location not having the car tow confirmed with us the day before. When one was found Uhaul gave us 15 minutes to get to the location to pick it up or loose the rental. The only ray of sunshine during the entire experience was the gal that worked at the Elmwood location. She was a pleasure to talk with. I was moving my 22 year old daughter from South Carolina to Texas. That in itself was stressful enough. Add that to the fact that Uahul had incorrectly taken my name and email down incorrectly. Had used wrong dates and locations for pick up as well as confirming a product they didn't have made it miserable. I don't plan on using Uhaul again anytime soon.Sydney P.
