I would not recommend u-haul the trailer swayed so bad that took back sooner only used it for part of our move. was not happy with how the whole thing was handled on that. We brought it back the next day but it is a 3 hour drive so was past noon when we got in so was told we were past noon so not being refunded anything. Having to travel at a much slower speed needless to say we were later getting there. The plan was to use for more then one trip but there was no way taking it any farther then necessary.JOHNP H.

My access card never worked, my payments were automatic. My credit card was charged for a rental that wasn't mine and it took me two calls and two visits to get my money back. Then when the lock they made me buy from them brock and they wanted to pay 50 dollars cash for their lock smith. Customer service was poor. I arrived at the store at the fairway location and was not greeted no hello, how are you, what can I help you with. They basically stared at me like what do you want. I wouldn't suggest using uhaul at all. My original booking location was changed without notifying me. Then when I contacted the new location, they informed me that they didn't have my truck. The Guelph location was awesome in helping me out and the fairway location was awesome for making it all happen. Really upset that I drove out of my way to find out that I was at the wrong location. The truck I ordered over a month in advance wasn't ready. They made me drive across town to another location, where they tried to give me a tiny truck instead of the one I needed. Then, they made me go to this location, who tried to upsell me. Finally got the truck.ROBERT E.
I left the trailer were I was told to and the location charged me $20 after hours service fee. No one told me that if I dropped the trailer off there would be a fee. In fact, when I inquired about dropping off the trailer early, they told me "no problem just drop it at the return area" no metion of a $20 fee. The trailer was only $19.95 so this effectively doubled the rental fee. Sneaky and unacceptable. I have dropped off the trailer early at other uhaul dealerships and wasn't charged an after hours service fee. I would have kept the trailer overnight and dropped it off in the morning.STEPHENL E.
The self serve pick up and drop of was more trouble then just doing it the regular way at the counter it took an hour to pick up my truck because there was no indication that I had to have someone available to call when I pick up the truck everyone I knew was still sleeping. What a wast of my time and effort to have the truck and be ready before my help arrived. Also I had booked the truck for the full day and a few days before I get a call telling me that I can only have it for 10 hours I've always used U-Haul to move in the past but I'll look elsewhere in the future and will recommend anyone who asks to do the same. Thanks for adding unexpected stress to my move by sticking me to a tight timeline and making it hard to get the truck so my time is wasted in your yard.Jared M.

Your uhaul app upon return the truck informed me the charge would be 64$ and change but I see alittle over 75$ charged to my credit card Please confirm if this is an error or I was charged for some hidden fee. Aside from having to change my original reservation to a smaller sized truck which was totally inconvenient - the return truck app obviously doesn't recognize the option when you choose 'Pay by another method'. Really unimpressed.STEPHANIEA S.
It was not explained to me that there would be a $20 charge for returning the truck after hours so that was dissapointing. When I came back to return the truck, previous people who returned their uhaul rental did not make the best use of space so I did not have much space to park the vehicle. We had a booking for a day and once we came to pick up the truck, we were told that the booking has changed to 12 hours even the booking confirmation clearly show that our booking is for a whole day. They impact all our plans and now some of the stuff I had prearranged to pick up, I will pick them up in other day. It is really frustrating and unacceptable from a reputable company. the pickup process is ridiculous. i provided all of the information upon registration, but then had to provide it all again upon pickup. i didn't receive the text message to logon to complete the process so had to use someone elses phone, where they then had trouble uploading the picture of the license. also why have a reservation system if you don't honour the request? my reservation was to pickup in cambridge, and the day before i'm notified that i have to pickup in kitchener. what's the point in making the reservation?Jamie E.

One of your employees was extremely rude I don’t know her name she would not give me her name when I asked for it but she’s the girl Asian girl with the blond hair. When I brought back the 26 foot truck my father asked her what am I paying the 15 dollars she unbelievably rudely said you should have asked me 5 seconds ago the screen is closed my father felt embarrassed as there was customer inside the store as well. She handed me the paper to my father without even explaining what was on it she just kept saying read the paper he then asked for her name and she walked away and as she is walking away she yelled I don’t need to give you my name it’s on the paper. Worst experience I have ever seen at this place and I was renting 2 units here plus renting trials and trucks. The service is actually very good and met my needs. The staff was great and helpful. I put in a low rating because I saw NO Covid safety precautions in the facility other than the in the main office. The elevator is horrible! The necessity of having to swipe the card to have it work and continually press a button (finger remains on a button) to have it move is inconvenient and bad during a pandemic. My friend stored her items at a place on Pinebush in Cambridge that had regular elevators. The system you have where you need to touch 2 doors on an elevator several times and then open and close a door to go upstairs has many communal touchpoints. I saw the facility being regularly cleaned every time I was there. However, I never saw anyone wiping the elevator button, the elevator pull-down door latches and outside elevator doors, and the door handle to the stairs or the carts. There was no evidence that anyone made any effort to clean the carts either. It's really risky and dangerous. I brought my own Lysol wipes and cleaned things as I used them myself. Not everyone is going to clean things as they use them. It would be helpful to have wipes set up at the elevator and carts like they do at grocery stores, hotels and gas stations. I mean really, it's not just for your customers, it's for your own staff to have some safety measures be in place. I'm a teacher and the custodial staff there wiped all touchpoints regularly and there were still outbreaks. I hate to think about the risk at your facility. It's actually shocking that I saw nothing but the same lady cleaning the grounds (she was friendly and did a really good job). I saw nobody cleaning high touchpoints. I know because I took several trips a day and the cart I left in the drop off point was at the exact same angle I left it many hours later. Very unfortunate for your staff and customers who do not clean touchpoints for themselves. I cleaned myself, otherwise, I never would have continued with the service so I am ok with the service I had. I worry for others who while rushing to store things do not take precautions. Even with vaccines rolling out, there is still going to be risk for months and maybe years to come. UHaul has to invent in taking more precations for customers and also their own staff. My rating would have been better if not for the pandemic. However, we are in a pandemic and will be for some time. Change needs to happen here. Followed directions given to me by uhaul. Alarm went off when I opened unit. Went and spoke with management, they "helped" me briefly. When returning to unit, alarm went off a second time. Returned to talk with management, they had left for the day. Returned to unit a third time - no alarm. Was told there would be a lock in the unit - no lock present. Luckily I had a lock in my car, installed on unit. When returning a week later, there was a management lock on my unit because my lock was improper type. My overall experience with the staff and the facility was good. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in resolving my issues with the storage unit I rented. However the unit I had rented, I am not pleased with. The framing and the drywall are coming apart. With minimum effort, I would be able to enter the adjacent storage unit. The door to the unit I had rented was difficult to open and close. I had to exert a high level of effort just to get into the unit and to close the the unit. I used the storage locker for short-term storage of my late father's household goods until I could get the auction house to come pick them up. The check-in process was very slow due to computer issues, but the person who checked me in provided the contract and lock to me for pick-up later in the day. The check-out process was very quick. Both people I dealt with were very polite and efficient. At a difficult time of dealing with the death of a close family member, patronizing U-Haul simplified things for me. This was the worst experience and an utter waste of time. The locker was supposed to be 5’x5’ and turned out to be significantly smaller at roughly 3.5’x4’. I immediately raised the issue with the staff only to be told the dimensions were only approximate. I’m willing to accept the space being off by a few inches, but it’s simply insulting to claim a few feet as approximate. The counter staff person that I booked my storage unit with was having problems with slow computer processing of my reservation. Rather than have me wait, he gave me my access card and provided the storage lock free of charge. This location actually cancelled a reservation I had made earlier in the month because of confusion regarding the date. I also rented 3 trucks within a month and half... My only complaint is that the last truck I rented, couldn't pick it up until 9 am as that's when you opened. With a 9am pickup time (instead of 7am) you end up.moving late into the day and nobody likes that. Earlier you start, the earlier you finish. Should open 7am .7 days/week. I appreciated the service. Pros- Easy account set up, friendly staff, and great prices. Cons- Need more camera surveillance throughout the compound, extended and 24hr access only for registered business owners/contractors. Either chosen access type should be available to ALL customers, at least extended access to all with contractors/business owners continuing to receive 24hr access but as a type of business ownership bonus for choosing to store with UHaul. The access issue is kind of a big deal to me as my wife and I started a family owned business venture specializing in Lawn care/Winter Maintenance. It's off to a rough start but our operating hrs are an 'On Call 24Hrs', 'You Make The Call and We'll Be There!'.. Unfortunately the business is unregistered with BBB...but policy is policy. I rented a unit for 6 months at U-Haul, from November to May. My belongings were stored safely in a clean and safe environment.
