The trailer I rented was actually pretty dirty inside it had obviously been used before to haul tile and grout mastic and concrete. There was dust everywhere inside. I did not have a broom with me to clean it out so had to use it like that. I did sweep it out when I emptied it, but it was still bad.LORETTA A.

I have rented U-Haul's for years and this is the first time that I actually had a bad experience the customer service was horrible everyone acted like they didn't wanna be at their jobs and intern was taking it out on your customers when I called customer service they completely ignored my situation and try to fix it by giving me some free miles not what I wanted at all. The Woman who opened the store was late. She was rude and inconsiderate. She stated she didn't want to be there. Miss Sherri was incredible but she was SO understaffed and left without help. The rest of the team was avoiding customers and instead....stocking the displays with moving blankets. Nice, what a joke. There were 8 customers waiting and no one else was helping - 2 employees also called off because they must have had more important things to do, other than work for their paycheck. I reserved a truck for a 10:00AM pickup and had to wait 90 minutes to get to the counter, they only had 1 and sometimes 2 people working it. Then after I did all the paperwork they couldn't find the truck. The next truck they give me had the check engine light on, so after 90 more minutes a truck came in and we took it as is. The issue was not with the Fontana location but with the fact that we reserved a U-Box at one location, only to be told they did not have any. Then, we were sent to a different location that also did not have any U-Boxes. We are happy that the Fontana location was able to accommodate us, but the logistics of the U-Box availability was frustrating and stressful, especially when we were already stressed out about moving.Alexander L.

Takes a lot of time at the location to go thru the pick up process. Customer is expected to do a check on the vehicle and then send picture of anything you dispute, with me the gas situation. Also when returning the vehicle had to put $15 in tank and only drove about 10 miles of that,from Uhaul location to my home in Bloomington. The people at Uhaul were great but some of the process was not so good.RAE B.

The entire staff was helpful. It's started with Sherri, she was friendly and informative. She helped us get checked in and started the loading process for us. The real winner here was Miguel!!!! I was worried that we wouldn't have enough time to load our u-boxes before returning them. He sensed my fear and addressed it. He told me not to worry that we would have enough time. He was a one man show when it came to setting up the u-boxes on the trailer and the truck I rented for self delivery. We had scheduled movers who refused the job. I had a very long and frustrating morning. Miguel learned that information from my husband. Miguel also addressed the feelings I had and eased my mind. He explained that my things would be safer being moved this way. That we had more control over the delivery, that we could change the delivery dates or use the storage until ready for delivery. We enjoyed his conversation and knowledge. He was beyond helpful. We really could use more people like him In this world. At a time when people are social distancing and being most unhelpful. Miguel was a wonderful reminder that there are still special people out here. Special people who make you feel special every now and then too. His customer service was exceptional. There was a customer ahead of me giving Miguel a hard time when I was in line upon arrival. I noted then that Miguel and Sherri had the utmost patience and respect for people. I will definitely do business at this particular location again. I have told many friends and family members about how Miguel saved not only the day. He saved and secured my household items, and saved me from future frustrations with moving companies. I will only use U-Haul for my local and cross country moves. Waited over 30 minutes to get my truck when there were other trucks available. Was told by a rep (the only male there) that my truck must've grown legs and walked off the lot and I should get some Scooby snacks to help find the truck. The gentleman that was outside cleaning the returned trucks was kind enough to look in the back where the truck was (there was also another couple that was there searching in 100+ degree weather and their truck was also in the back) and let me know. I then had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the truck to be washed out when there were other trucks available in the front. Did not receive any money off or coupon for my wasted time, just told I can return the truck 4 hours from the time I left (45min after I arrived).JOY H.

It takes quite a bit of fuel to run the big (26') truck. I drove one from Mn to CA and was towing a car and trailer as well. It went through a bit of gas but ran like a champ! The 26' I rented this time clearly needed a tuneup. It choked out just looking at the gas pedal. Thats not very comforting in SoCal rush hour traffic.CAROLYN H.

And though my daughter and I made a mistake also when told something was to the Left (we walked to the right) the lady who helped us was very sweet and helpful down to the last second. Let me tell you about my horrible experience - I attired at 7:05am at the location and the woman behind the counter was as rude as could be, yawning and bored, it was obvious she hated her job. She was completely uninterested in helping, but I didn't say anything because I needed to meet the movers at 8:30Am. The woman claimed that our utility cart and dolly were in the vehicle and so we went to the truck and drove it home. ' But it doesn't stop there....we park the truck and open the back of the truck....THERE WAS A HOMELESS MAN SLEEPING IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK!. Yes, you read that correctly! He was either drunk, on something, or both....but was completely out of it....he had urinated in the truck and had used moving blankets as a bed. We got him out of the truck....obviously, there also was no dolly cart or utility cart. If there had been, Uhaul would have discovered it that morning. I called the location where we picked the truck up and there were completely disinterested in helping with the fact that no dolly or utility cart and just said total Haul Customer Service. My personal truck is in the shop , so I rented the pick up truck , had it all day , it was blasting AC, super clean ,and my total at the end of it was $ 55 plus $ 10 to replace the gas I used ... U-Haul's very competitive, perhaps best, prices while not imposing a greedy move-in fee is a refreshing surprise. Getting stuff into my 2nd-floor unit without an elevator was a bit awkward, but I'm a better man --pumping iron-- without the noise, and I likely saved time. The office person forgot to give me a map of the units in the hallways, and there's no arrowed marquee and no unit numbers marked at each of the numerous halls of units and stairways leading to the 2nd-floor halls.
