First of all, my reservation was changed twice from the original location that was closet to my residence. When we arrived to the Fontana location at our reservation time, the truck was not ready and we could not utilize the no hassle/no counter option and had to wait. They did offer a credit for the inconvenience but we were on a tight time schedule..

THOMAS CI reserved a utility dolly and an appliance dolly and the Fontana facility had none. They said it was first come first serve. It took me twice the time and effort to move. I was moving by myself and it was extremely difficult to lift things going up and down stairs. I don’t see the point in reserving something that is not available. I have only used U-Haul to move and I have never had this issue.

SERGIO VFirst let me say both workers I dealt with were on the ball and got me in and out fast I appreciate that the most .. I rented a 5x9 with ramp I saw 3 of them when I was there picking up mine. One was buried in back the second was covered in mud (you should ask the location for pics it’s that bad) and mine mine looked fine but when I got to where I needed to use the trailer to load my new appliances I noticed the WHOLE bottom of the trailer was covered with rat poop and 2 rat skeletons I had to clean it before I was able to use it. I always thought you charge a fee if it’s returned dirty If you don’t maybe it’s time to start charging so the trailer is ready for the next client

ROBERT BI received an email from: noreply@uhaul.com at 11:41am that stated information about my recently purchased U-Haul storage container. It clearly stated that the storage access hours are as follows: “Mon-Sun: 5 am–10 pm”. I have attached this information as a screenshot on this comment. After being granted entry into the building and finishing my current trip of unloading my belongings, I was startled by a very loud voice inquiring about my whereabouts and stated I was not supposed to be in the building. I informed the large gentleman that I received an email that stated I was allowed to access the building and unit. He aggressively said, “The business hours are until 7pm”. I mentioned to the gentleman that there is no way of me knowing this information due to the email stating a different time frame of business hours and the security alarm system station granting me access to the building. I also received a statement that mentioned my free lock would be inside of the unit. It was not in or around the storage container. I mentioned to the gentleman that there was no included lock in the unit as stated from what was informed to me. He went to grab one from downstairs. When I asked for his name he stated it was “David Gomez”, the store manager. I felt extremely uncomfortable due to the fact that I am new customer and I paid rent for a unit at this location. I will also be sending this complaint to the regional manager and the cooperate office location.

Charles C | First ImpressionsMy experience with this facility was the worst experience I have ever had at any business. From the moment I walked in the staff was rude, short, unhelpful and generally did not do their jobs. The first employee I encountered was Sophia. She was extremely rude from the moment we walked in. She refused to give me toilet paper for the bathroom for more than 20 minutes. She also would not tell me what unit my storage facility was or where it was located. She told me to “look at my contract”. When I finally found the unit it was locked. After more than an hour of her telling me there was no key and refusing to give any further information another employee named Francisco attempted to find the key. He told Sophia he couldn’t find the key and she turned around and said “that sucks”. He attempted to use the keys he did find to unlock the unit and when they didn’t work he started cursing and stormed off. We waited at the unit for him to come back and he never did. We had to go back to the office and I asked Sophia again if someone could please open the unit and she said “I don’t have a key” and walked off. We then found Francisco again and we were told that no one had a key and wouldn’t have a key until Monday. After almost two hours we finally cancelled the contract and decided we had no other choice but to try to find another storage facility at almost 7pm on a Saturday night. When we tried to retrieve our belongings from inside the storage area we discovered we were locked out. We had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to come let us in. When I asked for a managers contact info both Sophia and Francisco refused to give me that information. They also both refused to give me their names. As if all of this wasn’t bad enough, when we were trying to load our belongings back into the truck another employee by the name of Timothy started video recording my minor children. When asked why he was videotaping my kids he got very aggressive and started threatening my son. He said “you better shut your mouth little boy before I beat your ***” and told him he doesn’t care about his job and told my son he got off at 7 and he would fight him. There were many expletives used during this interaction in front of both me and several minor children. Timothy became so aggressive that Francisco had to hold him back from assaulting my son and tried to drag him back inside. He repeatedly fought against Francisco to come back and re-engage the altercation. I have never witnessed such unprofessional and ultimately criminal behavior on the part of employees at any other company in my life. It is my opinion that all three of these employees should be immediately terminated so that no other customer has to go through something like this in the future.

The office person forgot to give me a map of the units in the hallways, and there's no arrowed marquee and no unit numbers marked at each of the numerous halls of units and stairways leading to the 2nd-floor halls. The card swipe entry is fickle as it doesn't work on the first few swipes. Alas alack, the facility has only one dolly.

The height of the storage isn’t very high. And the hallways to the storage are narrow . I know this is a storage but they have mouse traps inside of the unit which takes a little space and it’s a little sketchy because I’ve never seen traps inside storage could be a good or a bad thing. If you don’t have large couches to move in this space would be good for you . Also Miguel knows how to handle difficult customers. I was helped by him initially and he was very pleasant but when I came back I received another girl which was pleasant as well and then was helped by another girl which complicated certain things because they did not relay messages on . I would rather have been helped by one person .
