There was a major miscommunication resulting in an additional charge. The drop off time was listed on the contract, but not in the email that was sent. I won't be dealing with u-haul again, ever. My pickup time was 1, the previous customer was supposed to drop off at 1. They did not drop off until 4:30. Not having any time in between reservations is asking for things not to run smoothly. The local staff did a great job and were friendly.Taylor H.

Pick up and drop off was fine, but the truck itself was a nightmare. Sounded and felt like it was going to fall apart any second the entire time I drove it. The wheel alignment was also so extremely off that I nearly had to turn the wheel at a 90 degree angle to go straight. Additionally, I noticed that the front right tire was completely bald on one side, which caused some noticeable traction issues. As for the icing on the cake, the seal strip on the driver's door completely fell out of place after exiting the vehicle for the first time, and it would never sit quite right again. I've always had a good experience renting Uhauls, but this was a rough one for sure.DAMIAN H.

The girl working the front counter was very sweet and professional. She was the only one working at 10:00am on Sunday July 24th. There where 6 people in line and she was doing her best to get us checked in and out. Why, on a weekend, was there only 1 person working? I was in line form 9:55 til 10:46 before she could get to me. The lack of leadership and management at this location is very obvious! I'll make sure to tell everyone I know about the appalling wait times I experienced. Being a rental place, one would think there would be adequate coverage on their busiest days.Michael W.

The alignment in the truck was off by more than. 45%Kimberly H.
1) Train all staff on UBox rentals if you're going to offer them from your local locations. First staff member at Fort Wayne was unable to process/deal with the U-Box reservation already made online; a more senior staff member finally stepped in to ensure we could pick up the UBox ourselves. Took way too long to process what was pre-arranged as an easy pickup. 2) Provide reliable and accurate delivery times and ensure that customers (and U-Haul staff both on site and by phone) can track accurately. PODS does this well. UBox had no clue where my box was in transit and I was provided inaccurate information about ETA or actual delivery date on multiple occasions. The box was available five days late, after having sat at Fort Wayne for 15 days prior to being put in transit. There was never any explanation for the original delay or the delays en route. U-Haul phone staff and regional dispatch couldn't trace it. The manager at Cathedral City was finally able to find the third party delivery truck by doing a google search! 3) Accept responsibility for delays and misinformation, and upgrade your systems. Some phone representatives were simply rude; others were doing their best with what they had. ALL of them complained about the software UHaul/UBox uses. 4) Implement quality control for the inaccurately-named Moving Help. Local Moving Help in Cathedral City put it on me to find the box and direct them for pick up and delivery (which had been contracted) when they had no accurate information from U-Haul staff at the location where the UBox was supposed to be. I ultimately ended up having to rent a truck and move the box and trailer myself. Not optimal when it's 115F, and not at all what I had contracted. 5) Recognize good performers where you have them. Marcus and Christian at the Cathedral City location were especially diligent and helpful. It's a tough location and they did their best with a difficult set of situations. Mason in the midwest regional dispatch office was quick to recognize the problems and process the guarantee funds when I reached him. PODS was almost seamless. U-Box most certainly was not. The after hours drop off app does not work with all browsers and will not advance past the location page if the location is not sent. It should have an override where the customer can say "yes, I'm at this location" and then continue.Dan T.

When I was there I was asked approx when would I be returning the truck. I said around 1pm or so. Next thing I know I am getting a call from a very rude lady there saying I am going to be charged $50.00 if I am not back on time. My wife called back explaining we said approx 1. The rude U-Haul lady said it doesn't matter we will still have to charge you the fee because the rented that truck to someone else. When I got there they had 4 other trucks there just like it. So now I have extra charges. Very rude! Will not be back to that location or ever use U-Haul ever again!Shawn H.

Problems the entire experience. I rented a 20 foot truck one way and was supposed to get in writing a free one month storage unit and they gave me a 10 x 10 x 7 where the capacity of the truck exceeded the amount of storage. So, I paid too much money to get the free storage unit that I could not use. Then, I had to use Public Storage not free. And the mileage costs .99 a mile from Uhaul. Now, I have to rent another truck from Uhaul and pay to get my personal property out of Public Storage not free and the mileage adds up. I would like my next rental truck in town free as they gave front loaded me mileage at rate and I paid that I lost out on never using. Theresa Slater 8104445848. We never received a card to get access to our storage locker and that was difficult to get into then when we tried the code I entered when we bought the locker my code was changed.
