We got to uhaul & my husband went to start the 26' truck we rented only to discover it had it's catalytic converter stolen from it. We then had to return to office & redo paper work & only truck available was 20'. Same price- no credit for inconvenience. Just chaos as usual. We still have yet to hear back from manager of Surprise Uhaul on reimbursement of 2 weeks of storage unit We paid for that is now empty. I have sent emails and spoke to uhaul customer service who also sent emails on receiving some form of reimbursement for the $204 storage fee for October considering it is now the 16th of October and we are fully moved out. This is the same consideration we have received from Uhaul since April when we started using your company for our relocation. Unacceptable service on so many levels.Dan O.

Sunday morning at 9am they opened the door. The line waiting was 18 deep, I was 6th in line. One person to check this line through. I got checked (even with my online reservation) at 9:30. Told yo go around the corner and truck was waiting. There was no truck around the corner and nobody to assist me. I wondered the yard for about 10 minutes then spotted an employee. He pointed to a truck and I finally got on the road.CURTIS P.

When you have a reservation for a certain size storage unit and we had a 10x10 reserved and they gave us a 5x5 and then the more we complained they gave us two 5x5 but had to pay for two units now and no free 30 days so now I pay more not right. Start by not trying ro get more money out of me by holding some of my boxes at your warehouse and giving me the run around for 5 days. The driver who turned up with my first load was rude and aggressive and told me i had to pay double as they couldnt get my load on one truck and then it went drastically downhill from there. Please ensure the vehicle that you rent out of the customers clean oh, the one we got was full of pet hair. Also we had a reservation at the location on Bell Road and we got sent over to the one on Bell Road and Grand because the other location did not have the vehicle which we have preserved. This location in particular was frustrating because the only person in the office was a trainee and was unable to help myself and multiple other customers until the experienced employee came back in. We waited 45 minutes because of this. The experienced employee was very short with my questions regarding my truck being changed to a different location. Although, the service I received at this location is not why I WILL NOT be using Uhaul again. The service I received over the phone is why. I set my reservations up over the phone. The following week, the day before my move, I get a call saying that there is not a 26ft truck for me the next day. However, the can get me hooked up with a 20ft truck the day after. With no choice, I agree to this. On pick up day, while trying to pickup at this location, I am informed that only my tow dolley is at this location. My truck is all the way across town for pickup. During rush hour, I have to rush to the next location to get the truck before they close. When I get there, I am informed that someone made a mistake because the trucks at this location do not go out of state. I was completely screwed without a truck for our out of state move and we both have jobs to start within days of our move. Luckily Penske was able to save us!Keri S.

u-box arrived damaged and could not be delivered to my home. I had to unload the u-box at the u-haul location and load it onto a u-haul truck that was rental free. I drove it 6.5 miles to my home and had to unload the content. Had to handle content twice (not once). Truck did not have correct mileage or gas level. Was charged for both.Ron J.

We tried to return the uHaul here and the dealer wouldn't talk to us about the tire issue even though the uHaul rep on the phone told us to talk to the location we dropped off at. She tried to refuse to give us back to keys to take the uHaul to a uHaul center to get the issue resolved even though we legally had another day left on our contract. She started screaming at us and calling us nasty and threatening to call the police because she had a rental and needed the truck. She didn't give us back the keys until WE started to call the police as the keys were our property under legal contract. Rio Estrella Storage Solutions should NOT be an authorized dealer of uHaul. I have videos of this woman screaming at me as I simply tried to get the keys to the uHaul that was still ours back to take it to an actual uHaul center. We were still planning to return it to her and told her so but that wasn't good enough because it was reserved AFTER our contract was over. Unacceptable behavior, we will never use uHaul again and will be following up to make sure our complaint about our treatment was adequately addressed. Feel free to reach out for videos.Elizabeth T.

This was the worst rental experience ever! Curbside pickup failed, app failed, service folks are called that in name only. Counter clerk was as cold and impersonal as they come. Didn't seem to care one whit that I was on a timeline. There was 1 gentleman in the return area that was very helpful as I sat in a van, waiting for clearance with two kids, in the Arizona heat for over 20 minutes. Then it still took another 10 min inside to resolve your system glitch. 40 min overall just to get the keys. Won't use that site again ! I'll gladly drive further! Not a Happy Camper at allShari K.
This survey was in spanish. I can find no way to change language even if there were I couldn't read it. Thats exactly how U-Haul has done business with me in 2021. I have used U-Haul since 2017. Even though they do not have competitive rates. This rental experience has been a complete NIGHTMARE. While in the hospital for a serious illness. I cancelled my rental and sent my children to remove items from storage. I called spoke to customer BAD service cancelled the rental and thought how easy. I was promised a call to confirm. Still in the hospital I lost track of time... NO call was ever received, or message left to confirm. 3 calls later when I finally reached the facility I again explained that I had canceled storage and had not received a confirmation call. Then I was told I could only cancel in person. I was never told this initially but again I explained that I was hospitalized and COULD NOT appear in person and that the storage was emptied well within the billing period, I was then told to hold and that this would be confirmed. I waited on hold more than 30 minutes in silence. No ONE CAME BACK TO THE PHONE. i hung and called again. I am so angry at this time nurses are asking me to calm down. I am irate but I explain again to the CSR and she takes my message and promises I woul get a phone call from the manager. I waited 2 DAYS AGAIN no call. In the mean time I receive a bill with a late charge for the same storage room I had been trying to CANCEL FOR A WEEK OR MORE. This entire experience has been deplorable. Finally I call customer service one more time and I was advised there was no record of an account. I still don't believe them. I'd rather THROW ITEMS AWAY than to deal with U-Haul ever again. I would like to rate the negative 10 if I could, particularly on the way they treat customers. And they increased there charges for awful customer service. HORRIBLE experience! I have been charged twice now for storage on the Uboxes I don't have. On Aug 10th they were delivered back to the Surprise, AZ location and they wont delete me card info and close the account even though I was promised in Aug is would be. Matt the GM has been sitting on my issue for a week now and wont refund my account, I was told yesterday it would be fixed and it has not. I've called 7 times on this matter and nothings been done. The check in guy was not very Costmer service friendly. I tried asking about bring back the trailer earlier and he didn't really care if I had a concern or questions. So to you. Was was I given six days rental when I said I only needed three. So that came out at $200 Per day for the trailer. I asked about that and It was said the check in location would Finalize my bill, cost. That didn't happen. So I doubt I'll ever rent from u haul again and if no response I'm posting our comments on next door in our community of about 5000 homes. That will probably get a review. The manager opened the store 90 minutes late which resulted in long waits after they finally showed up to work. This through a major wrench in our moving day. The manager should be fired for being 90 minutes late to unlock the store, especially on a Sunday morning. I did 24/7 electronic pick up only to find out that they couldn't allow that. I will be calling Visa and disputing my charge and also posting about my experience all over social media unless you choose to contact me and provide a refund of my $112 charge.Ron L.
Dolly requested was not available. Representative indicated he would substitute at a reduced price. This did not happen (charged full price) The appliance dolly was dripping with oil and soiled my hands and clothes when handling it before recognizing the source of oil. Obviously not cleaned between rental. Confusion when picking up trailer. Lot attendant selected the wrong trailer and indicated he had to make the change with the office and walked off. I checked the rental order and pulled the correct trailer from the inventory. By the time the attendant returned I had pulled the trailer and was in process of installing it on my own. Had a trailer reserved for Saturday and when I got there they did not have a trailer to rent me even though I had reserved one two days earlier and when I came back on Sunday I stood outside in the rain because the manager did not show up until almost 10:30 AM when the store is supposed to open at 9 AM. The staff was nice, courteous, and helpful. They helped me with renting my storage unit and changes I needed to make. However, getting my Uboxes brought up to the storage unit was a nightmare. I had to reschedule after the first attempt because they weren't brought up. The 2nd time we had to wait over an hour before the first of three boxes were brought up. It was the WORST experience ever. From getting locked out of my unit for non-payment when I was enrolled in auto pay, to getting my email wrong twice, to the complete and utter failure of getting lights on in my hallway after repeatedly asking for it to be fixed. I went into the office no less than five times over about a two month period. Each time I was told it would be taken care of and it never was. Reserved a unit a month in advance and when I got to the Uhaul, with my truck loaded down and movers who were paid by the hour it took over a hour for them to find two rooms to accommodate for my one and I ended up paying my movers for a free hour. I have used U Haul before on Grand and Bell in Surprise Az. This time I used them it was a horrible experience with the storage that I reserved and they sent me all over Phoenix when it was there fault and charged me after they said they would give me an extra day free on the truck 🛻 I rented and that they would take over 80 miles for the run around they gave me and they did not do that. The manager at U Haul I’m Surprise never came out of his office to help me. Very Poor Service and disappointed. I will be calling 📞 Monday morning to argue with them. Wayne’s team was amazing and I can’t believe Dina is still there!! 🥰 I will say the gal that was working the counter that evening was NOT very friendly or welcoming to me or the customer before me. The only complaint I have is that the billing seem to be all over the board. Made reservations a month ago and they still couldn’t provide me with a big enough vehicle to move my belongings from California to Arizona. once I got to Arizona the storage unit that I had reserved was not available and I asked them what we can do so they gave me 4 5 x 5 storage units which still didn’t fit even half of my stuff. I went to the Uhaul office in Surprise on June 14th. The young man sold me a lock and did not tell me to put it on immediately.He did not have me sign a contract, I recived a call from Jennifer regarding the contract. I said I would be in to sign. I never can get thru to the Surprise office. Sat 6=27 another call from Jennifer wanting to know if I had moved out, I hadn't even moved in. Because I did not put my lock on the leased the unit to someone else. So I spent another hour getting a different unit rented and locked up. I feel the service was very poor until I talked with Jennifer face to face. I now have a unit and we are moving items in on Thursday. Your phone service is terrible, Put on hold forever and then you don't talk to who called you and they person you do talk to does not know what they problem is. This has not been a good experience.
