I first booked at one location closer to my home. After 1/2 hour of waiting there for the Uhaul worker to find the keys in vain, they transferred my reservation to this location. Uhaul charged me extra for the added miles even though it was their mistake. And forget about any discount for wasting my time and gas, they required me to return it at the original reservation time dispute the me not getting the vehicle until 1 hour after I arrived at the original location. Their gas gauges are malfunctioning. They estimate it takes 6 gallons to bring the tank to 1/4 full. It took 9 gallons. They said it was a 1/16 full when I got the truck which was probably not true since I put 8 gallons in and it only went to 1/4 tank. I am too tired with my move to worry about this right now, but I will never use Uhaul again.Jesse S.

Major issue where the odometer did not match the contract. Went back into office before I left the site and the staff stated they would take care of the discrepancy. I reminded the same staff member about the previous conversation on mileage. I was charged for 400+ miles after renting the truck for just over 2 hours off the lot. INSANITY !!! There is not a lot of space in the front of this location where the entrances are, so with the 26' truck and trailer, it was hard to navigate, especially with others leaving in their u-hauls the same time we were trying to enter. Additionally, there was not clear signage as to where to return the u-haul. After finally making it into the parking lot and finding a place that mentioned truck returns, the first attendant to speak to us was extremely rude. He wanted us to bring the truck to the back by making a u-turn in the parking lot with the truck and trailer that I would not have been able to make safely and without hitting anything else in the parking lot. When I expressed this and asked for clarification, he responded in a condescending tone, refused to give clarification, and tried to make me feel bad for not wanting to move the truck in the direction he wanted. He then demanded the key from me while I continued to ask for clarification which he again refused to give by just continually demanding the key. Once I handed the key, he walked away while saying he would email the receipt with no other guidance about doing a walk around on the truck, mileage used, etc. I asked another attendant about the walk around on the truck and if there was anything else to do before leaving, and he was very kind and helpful.Lexy K.

The attendant was rude to customers trying to purchase boxes and told them he couldn't help because the system was down. They were leaving and he asked them to come back and put the boxes they wanted back on the stack instead of doing it himself. I reserved a truck and the same attendant told me he couldn't find the keys and couldn't rent it out to me. He offered me another vehicle even though I needed a pick up truck. He told me they all have hitches for towing so I said I'd take a cargo van. He pulled up the contract for that, got the vehicle, brought it around, only to find out that it didn't have a hitch. Then he found another pick up that was just checked in and had to go through the whole process of checking it in, pulling up a new contract, and checking it out to me. All in all the guy that was helping me was rude and not very helpful. I reserved the truck for check out at 5pm and didn't leave with a truck until almost 6pm.Douglas H.
Probably a separate issue, but the movers that I hired through uhaul's website (not associated with this location) were terrible, like comically bad, foul language, bad attitude, etc. Might want to develop a vetting process for movers/laborers booked on the website because it reflects badly on uhaul.Isaac C.

This store on como ave in Minneapolis/St. Paul area is advertised as a 24 hr storage unit, so I got there at around 7pm right as the office was closing down for the day, yet I managed to get service and I got to rent a unit for my stuff. However as I was wrapping up my move, I still had just a couple of things to bring when all of a sudden the door locked on me and couldn’t come in anymore having to leave a lot of my stuff unattended all thru the night and Im glad nothing got stole, but I feel like this happened because any of the ppl that worked there did not tell me anything about it. That is not even the whole problem. There is a phone number on multiple signs that say to call the gm for after hours service, but the phone would go straight to voicemail making this situation a lot more frustrating and unnecessary that it needed to be. I even called costumer service for help and they couldn’t even reach this guy and or couldn’t help me at all. I wasted over 3 hours dealing with this that day and at the end I just gave up and left only to come back in the morning just to secure the unit I just rented. You guys need to be more clear about you overnight policy or at least tell your customers about it. That didn’t have to be as frustrating and difficult like it was that night/morning. Delivery of the pod was never properly explained to us at the beginning of the process, leading us to have to unload the pod in many trips at a uhaul location. It took 2 weeks to gain access to our pod due to phones being forwarded to a dead call line. When at the location the staff was rude and visibly annoyed that they were â€œinconveniencedâ€ by having to help me.Ian L.

The wait was a little long. It even more, there was confusion with the vehicles. I had did a online check in to reduce the time and ended up waiting longer than anyone to get a vehicle. The first vehicle had the wrong gas amount, the second one was parked behind a vehicle they couldn't find a key for, I finally got one after the third try...50 minutes past my reservation time. My reservation was from 9-1, and I didn't leave the place until 9:50, and was still sent a reminder to bring the vehicle back by 1:00. Very frustrating!Desiree W.

I've always used the Como location because of the convenience and care of the staff here . Everything on your end was excellent. I found the delivery driver extremely helpful and his Customer Service skills should be used as the Benchmark for all your staff! Had a bit of disappointment on the pod pickup in AZ. Not only was it more expensive my for the service here, but the pod return was delayed by a day due to poor customer service. I'll note the distance travelled to deliver and pick up was much closer for them then it was for the initial delivery and pickup, and in a much cheaper labor market.Beecher V.

Overall the experience went fine. However, I did have a "hickup" that really should be addressed. When I rented the truck and took advantage of the storage unit deal, I asked specifically about 24 hour access. I knew that I would be moving late into the night so this was important. I was told I had 24 hour access. This was not the case. At 10pm the dock sliding doors locked me out. Here I was with a partially loaded truck, carts in the passage near my storage and my storage door open with no access. I pushed the After-Hours intercom button, no answer. I called the After-Hours number for Matt Underwood, no answer and directed right to automated voicemail. I then called the customer service number, obviously no answer there. I then called the alarm company who was able to give me the number to someone else, This person did answer and was able to grant me access. He did explain however that 24-hour access is a PAID service the I did not have. This is something that should have been explained by the counter rep who checked my out. I don't have to explain the stress and concern this experience caused me Since obviously I couldn't simply leave. Office for registration/ checkin OK, but there should be a separate checkin and waiting area for storage versus vehicle rental customers...and a posted outline of checkin for BOTH types of customsrs.Current construction makes finding anything difficult so you need to compensate by posting in big print process for each customer type. Excellent security measures and the long access hours is a nice perk. Hallways and loading areas are clean but pest control is lacking. Although the rodent bait traps are present in each unit, I still found a considerable amount of mice droppings inside my unit. Having the normal entrance blocked off by construction makes it difficult to access, which isn't really an issue but it would have been nice to have an announcement sent out with instructions for alternate route access or at least better signs directing people where to go. I wasn't able to reach the office by phone so I had to drive all the way there to get answers. Matt has always been helpful and friendly but it's iffy otherwise. I have had the need to utilize U-haul twice in the last month. First was for a van rental in Fargo, ND to move a small apartment. The second was for a truck rental for another small move plus a storage unit in St. Paul. I must say, I was blown away both times by the customer service and the technology of checking out and returning the vehicles. In regards to storage, the carts provided were a back saver and the ease, the security in place, and the cleanliness of the unit were very impressive. I am a student and affected by the coronavirus during my move as it made everything much more difficult. I had only two people to help move into the storage unit and one to move out. I received several emails saying I would get one month free but when I asked the person working about it, they said I had to say something about it when I first secured the storage unit. You have one of the best storage facilities I have used over multiple cities and 36 years of military service. I think the security and access controls are very good. The facility is clean and easy to navigate. Two areas to comment on: first, I had a handicap accessible unit which I chose for location, but the smaller door makes lighting very poor.
