your website is the worst thing i've ever seen. you cannot make payments, you cannot change payments (cards), you cannot change the drop off location. you have to call in and have someone do it for you. for the most time when i log in it says â€œsorry we are having issues logging you in try againâ€. the staff at the beaumont location did not know what they were doing. it took over an hour to get us the u-box, then when they found it and charged us it was the wrong one! they had to cancel the order then create a new one. this charged my card 3 times. i got the refund back for 2 of them but now for 5 days. also the box was extremely small.kole A.

The new system for renting stinks. I have less trouble renting a car than I did with this few hours rental of this truck. The fact I was charged per.mile at the rate I was was also ridiculous. The truck steering was loose. The pickup on the truck was sluggish. The return was too much: testing lights and signals, then checking gas. I had this truck from 630 PM and returned it 8 AM the next morning and paid $79. That was wayyy too much. I will not get theextra ins for sure the next time I have to use a truck to move anything. The guy, who ended up having to do the return was just NOT a people person at all. Dry personalities are not good for a business. The calling to verify who I was and phone numbers were too much for the rental. I did not see that with another customer next to me and he was paying cash and I used my credit card. The whole ordeal just left a bad taste in my mouth for the company.Elizabeth G.

I think uhaul has completely poorly run company for the past. I order 4 x 8 enclosed trailer from Vidor. Texas on 9/11 and they sent me to Beaumont, Texas before the day I pick it up. Then Beaumont had to rewrite an online contract to charge me more money for the order. What is online per ordering and paying any good? This the second complain I have seen. The Alamosa Co was lied to when they called my friend and said everything was ready to be picked up. When we got there the truck was there but the car hauler was not. So at 2:00pm we called they were supposed to call when it arrived. We were loading and told them that we will drive pickup to the pickup car hauler they did not say anything about needing a rented van. When we got there they said they had to hook it to rent not pickup with us driving 120 miles and we will hook and unhook the car hauler several times before returning it. I was in service business for 24 yrs and I ran my million dollar company this way I would have been out of business.Lenard T.

The gas hand was at just before 1/4. I refilled the truck to put the gas amount back where it was. However, I was charged for the gas hand not being on 1/4. I was told I should have taken a picture to show where the gas hand was before I left.Brandace S.

Be able to explain what your damage waiver covers. The rep. Nor the manager could explain what it covered but stated it did not cover all damages and I could still be responsible for damages. It didn't make since to purchase a damage waiver if I was still responsible for damage. The manager referred me to a 1-888 number but the service was closed and unavailable so, I left confused about what I purchased.sherita T.

our reservation was changed to an inconvenient location charging us more mileage than necessary. we chose a more convenient place that seems to always have plenty of units available?? the place we were directed to was very busy, not enough help for number of customers waiting for service. condition of unit was bearable... bumped, bruised, scarred, damaged, torn seats, etc. it ran well, engine wise, but was almost an embarrassment to drive around town. we did witness an employee clean the worn unit, so we appreciated that. thanks for asking my opinion.Daniel S.

I didn't go in to drop off the rental , someone came out and I handed them the keys and he said â€œ I'm all setâ€ and I left Just aggravated that it cost a fortune to rent . Overall experience was horrible. It took over an hour and a half to check in at this location, even after having a reservation. There was no sense of urgency or customer service for either person working that day. In regards to the drop off location, it was supposed to be DeRidder, La. When I got there they had Lake Charles, La. I ended up having to pay an extra feee for DeRidder. As this is a holiday weekend, we weren't sure which DeRidder location would be open to drop off the trailer, so the lady at the location left the drop off location in DeRidder open. I specifically took a picture of the DeRidder locations available for drop off. So when we got there, we knew what our options were. We'll we got to DeRidder and chose our location. Go to drop it off and they wouldn't get the return button to work. The ladies at the location call the traffic number and the lady who answered the phone was the rudest person I have EVER spoken to. She had zero communication skills and wouldn't even try to act like she had a caring bone in her body. In my 15 yesterday of customer service, I would never speak to a customer the way she did or act as non-caring. Just dropping off the trailer took over 45 minutes! After yesterdays experience, I highly doubt I'll ever use U-haul again.Lauren B.

vehicles windshield and side windows were horribly dirty and the steering was very loose having to constantly maneuver the wheel to stay straight in lane then it was even hard to keep straight in lane. Also the vehicle has a horrible exhaust leak which is annoyingly loud but more importantly when stopped it seemed the exhaust was coming into the drivers area. I reported this to the check in attendant and he just said "yeah"....that was all. I know those vehicles cost a lot of money but if they were maintained well they would last a lot longer. this is my second uhaul rental from this same store in the last month and they both were poorly maintained vehicles.Michael R.

1... Thank u for calling u haul please hold and no one ever come back to the line so that I could pay rent. 2... Was unable to change online acct psw and was told manager would have to do that as well as change contact /unit access person but he was never there and again when I called was put on hold. 3... Was suppose to have 24 hrs access and somehow was locked inside the gates unable to leave after store hrs into the wee hours of the morning before finally deciding to try n climb the fence and go find help because I didn't have my cell phone with me. Had to walk alone after midnight down the streets of Beaumont in search of a person or place that would allow me to use their phone to contact your 1800 # so that I could get. My vehicle out and hope n pray my boyfriend believed me when I got home. He didn't and still doesn't. When I told the young ladies working the day after they said they knew the gate was messed up. So why then is there not a sign or why isn't it locked after hours so that this does not happen and they respond oh your not the only one. My point exactly. Not only did this happen to me but to others and it was not safe and very irresponsible of your employees to shrug it off and allow it to continue to occur. So pretty much I have not had a good experience with U-Haul at all and I will never use a U-Haul facility ever again. My truck rental experience too was a disaster. There was always clutter in the area of my stored RV. With 24hrs of entry I felt my RV was vulnerable. My concerns became a reality. Well over $5000 of equipment was stolen along with damage to my RV. I was later informed that this sort of thing had happened at other u-haul facilities after the fact. Not only the lost of my equipment but not so much as we are sorry this happened but I did get this request for a survey. Don’t think this is sour letter but and opportunity to do better. I truly believe 24hr entry is unnecessary. No one is moving at one or two in the morning, it only put honest people property at risk. Very poor security without accountability, the complete staff was great, Thank you for your hard work. In 2 years the rent increased almost 35%, with no added benefit to the customer. My trailer was broken into twice at this facility, so the security is very bad and zero accountability by the company, my expenses to repair this trailer were not refunded as there is no insurance available for vehicles that are parked in your facility, basically, you are charging for parking on the street with a fence that does not protect from anything. I am sure that I will use U-Haul in the future, but I will think twice to use this type of storage facility without accountability.Jorge H. | Overall Experience

Uhaul is normally convenient and good for me, but the last couple of experiences have not been. In Las Vegas, I was told that a car hauler would be guaranteed as I reserved it 2 weeks in advance for a military move. I also called 3 days in a row preceding the reservation. Two days before my cross country move I was told the reservation could not be honored, forcing me to purchase a trailer for $3,700. I also reserved a 10x15 storage unit with the uhaul 1-800 number, at the location in Beaumont, only to be given a 10x10 unit by the representative at the location, once again inconveniencing the move process.MARKUS M. | Overall Experience

Went in to rent a storage space for my rv. I was assinged a spot and went to unload. A Uhaul trailer was in the spot. Walked back to the office and spoke to the desk clerk. He said he would be awhile because he had customers. He was the only person on duty. He should have told the customers he would be right back and moved the trailer. He didn't and said i could get a dolly and move it myself. When you wait on a customer prior to other customers you should take care of that customer. Period no excuse for his lack of service. I have used Uhaul serveral tines before, i like climate control because it preserves my stuff better. When i moved the place was not dirty. My three main complaints are the storage thermostat said 85 degrees . The exit door at the end of the hall, emergency not the glass door there is a huge gap between the floor and the bottom of the door that air is escaping which contributes to the problem. Now on to the glass door it is broken falling off the hinges literally. The lock n key was in the storage when i arrived which was great! However the storage it self has insulation hanging down from the ceiling in my unit. So when we open the door the particles fly and guess where it’s landing yes on the items I stored. I got locked in the gate because it was broken my code not an interning customers code was i for 15-20 minutes, i pressed the intercom and no on answered after several times I tried. . This was upsetting mostly because i couldn’t get anyone on the local line or on the customer service . I’m just not use to no customer service like this. Additionally the young lady on the 1800 # was very apologetic and I did appreciate that. She said “ I’m very sorry this is not the experience we want you to have with Uhaul” ( she made the difference for me, i was really frustrated) and proceeded to transfer me to another department to handle my complaint. I held on another 10 minutes and I just hung up because that was an extra 30 minutes taken from me moving. I had people helping me. I went back to storage on yesterday and my code didn’t work again, so i had to sit in the line and wait till someone could look up my information, i understand that part bUt it really does negate the whole check in not having to wait issue. The young man did give me a card which worked and i did appreciate that . Never the less i am dissatisfied with my unit! I will be moving when my month is over, i don’t pay to get insulation particles on me or my stuff nor do I pay for my belongings to be the same temperature as the none climate control. Oh n I never had to sign in at the building ( when entering) so safety is also an issue, just drive your car up and the glass door opens up no code needed. Units flooded- was given a brochure as Contact info for damages. It was not the correct brochure. Items were placed in a storage box and sent to Louisiana. Tried to retrieve box three months in a row. Each time they told me it would be there in two weeks. It was not. I paid 100s in extra storage fees. Customer service over all was rude and dishonest.
