When reserving a auto transport online I put in all the correct info for the vehicle being towed after driving two hours to the rental location U-Haul did not have the trailer nor do they make a trailer that vehicle would fit on So instead I had to rent a tow dolly and pull a vehicle that has been sitting in a field for eight years for 2 1/2 hoursJames S.

My original reservation was for pickup in Vidor, but the people who rented the tow dolly befor me didn't return it to Vidor. I was made to go to Beaumont to pick it up. I had several issues with this location. First it was my understanding from the individual that checked me in that if I stayed under 100 miles that I would not have to pay any mileage, as it was included in the rental fee. Imagine my surprise when I checked in that evening with the truck and it was under 100 miles that the individual checking me in tell me it was going to be $110. Instead of the $2020.00 plus tax that I was expecting for just the rental of the vehicle because I stayed under 100 miles. My second issue came when I went to pick up my rental for today which is Sunday December 20th. First, they ask me for two additional contact numbers as opposed to the one that I gave on the previous rental on Friday they also took my picture and then told me that I could not use my debit card to rent the vehicle I had to use a major credit card. Mind you this is the same debit card that I used on rent the van on Friday. There is a breakdown in communication between your customer service representatives. Also, a lack of knowledge on the correct procedures and what is supposed to be collected from the customer when they check in. And the mileage needs to be explained a lot better than it was to me on Friday. Also, the lady that checked me in Friday night was extremely rude and the people there this morning All they could do was keep reiterating the fact that I have to have a major credit card and the other person should not have done that on Friday and allowed me to use my debit card. There was nothing like, well let me get a manager and see if there's something I can do. Because also they wanted to move me to a larger box truck and that is something one, I did not need that much room and also, I didn't want to incur additional charges. So, because of this I will not be recommending nor will I be renting from your U-Haul location again.Ryan W.

When I dropped of this rental around noon I was informed that it was not the location per the agreement. This lady informed me to call the phone # and request a change of drop off location. I called and the lady on that phone # told me that this was a local (Houston) rental. I don't know where the disconnect is or was but since she did not wave the $30 transfer of drop off location I will not be using U-Haul again. Sad to say that you lost a customer of over 25 years over miscommunication on both our parts.JOSE R.
This is my U-Haul truck twice in a month, but the air conditioner has problems both times. The first time there is no cold air conditioning , the second time, the heater and the cold air conditioner both have problems. Fortunately, the engine is strong enough to allow me to travel all the way from Texas back to California.CHIH C.

After being lied to about the availability of a truck here in Beaumont, I was lied to about a reservation for a truck two hours from here. It wasn't until after my son and I drove there and spent 1/2 an hour trying to get YOUR app to work, then spent another 45 minutes on the phone waiting for a human to get on the line, was I informed that no such reservation exsisted. I was looking at my confirmed reservation on my phone while I was being told that I did not have a reservation. That was lie #3. Then, while standing in a sea of trucks in the freezing weather, I was told that there was not a single truck there. Lie #4. Then all of a sudden, a small ten footer appeared. I needed a 26 footer. So I asked about a trailer. Again, I am standing in a sea of them and am told that there was not one there. Lie #5. I was told that I would be credited for all the extra miles I had to put on that truck due to the distance that I had to drive to get it. I'd like to see a breakdown of the charges AND the credit given me. That was the worst experience I have ever encountered with a rented truck. Have the reserved equipment available, make sure the interior light works, and especially make sure there aren't two bald tires on the truck. We had a blow out on the highway due to bald tires. Luckily no one was hurt.Anthony E.

My issue isn't with the uhaul facility. It's with the Uhaul system. Process of advanced checking in due to covid to speed up the process is a joke. Because when you arrive they ask you everything you just put in online. Also the list of available drop off locations need to be updated.Frank T.

The woman working Saturday around 1PM (i-10, Bmt TX) was very slow in processing the long line of customers because she was training another employee. She didn't acknowledge any of the 7 people waiting while she came and went checking in and out one customer at a time. More staffing would have been ideal on a busy Saturday. After checking in my rental thoroughly and explaining everything and adding personal experience stories to her trainee, she said I was done. I took that opportunity to tell her there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the climate controlled facility(that I just spent 3 hours moving into). She laughed it off while saying her housekeeper was off today. She then went back into the office. I walked past an overflowing trashcan in the parking lot to my ride only to hear how rude the woman had been to my friend waiting for me in the parking lot and to another potential customer. Everyone that I had encountered prior to the this woman did an outstanding job handling my account, from picking up in lake charles to the multiple phone calls I had to make to find storage an hour away from where I need to be due to the losses in our hometown area. I had to pay extra to move and store my items due to the hurricane decreasing availability. A wrong turn upon arrival put me short in gas and over in milage beside being late w the truck. I'd expect the facility to be properly staffed and maintained. I also had a lot of problems with app account...I wasn't able to use it hardly at all. Filed a dispute for double billing - charged twice for day rental. Not told hour rental, was not told when trailer due back for day rental and was told store closed at 7pm when Customer asked when store closed for return of trailer. Trailer was returned 6:37 pm and Customer was asked to unhitch, which customer declined. Customer also asked for receipt at return but was denied and referred to email receipt - which Customer has reviewed and dispute for double billing.STEVEN H.
I don’t live here anymore so when the storage got flooded I wasn’t able to come here until now. When I went to clean it out they said they went in there to make sure there wasn’t any mold. Several pairs of Jordan and Nike sneakers are missing. I had a pair of red bottom heals that I only had worn twice are all beat up like someone wear them in a marathon. I’m just glad they were not missing as well. The sneakers were stored high enough that I know they did not get damaged in the flood. I believe the were stolen.NICOLE C. | Overall Experience

When picking up our 20' truck at assigned time on Saturday, were told that the 2 furniture dollies ordered were not available so had to do without. When we were checking out condition, mileage and fuel level of truck against info shown in app to confirm, realized they gave us wrong vehicle and had to change it out causing delay. Whole environment was chaoticâ€”one person trying to handle everything. When we arrived, person at desk was taking care of irate customer on phone who had an empty pod delivered to his driveway instead of his pod with contentsâ€”the response was sorry you'll have to wait until Monday to have the correct one delivered. This was a busy time of year apparently because there was ALWAYS a wait in the Beaumont, Texas store every time I had to stop in (hitch installation, trailer pickup and final hitch pickup due to wrong insert). Some personnel were friendly, some had little patience but then I think mask-wearing requirements has had an impact on service too!!KRISTEN ANN R.
Well, it was all great, but I had to return the truck soon after I picked it up because my moving helper got sick. So I paid the fees for nothing. The supervisor that was working that day was very unprofessional arguing with customers instead of handling it better than what he did he went back and forth with the man. Personally I was tired of waiting and hearing him tell the customer I don't have to do anything and customers aren't always right first of customers are always right even when they are wrong. You help them the best way you can defuse the situation not dragging it on. I asked him to please do his job I have things I need to attend to. I told me how to self check out and continued to argue. I went on and did the self check out so he decided to give me a hassle while holding the keys to the uhaul truck at that point he had really frustrated me. Reservation agent, Charles, thought that the 10' truck would have a loading ramp. It was for a short refrigerator move. So I reserved that and an appliance dolly. He did not mention that the truck would not be available at the original shop on College Ave. (I found out reading the email reservation confirmation.) That email also had a wacky pickup time. Anyway, the new location was relatively close by. The agent at the new location on Milam was nice enough to notice the 10' truck had no ramp and upgraded to the 15' which had a ramp. However, there was no appliance dolly even though that was also emailed as confirmed. The agent called the store on Lawrence Dr north of town who said they had dollies. When I got there, about 10 miles round trip further, at $0.79 a mile, the manager said there were none to spare. Made the truck rental almost useless. Tried to use the little $7 dolly attached to the truck. Wasn't even close to being useful. So suggestions - 1) appliance dollies need to actually available. Otherwise it's wrong of you to confirm as reserved. 2) educate/train your reservation agents much better, or have them work in a field location for practical experience first. Also the wacky pickup time on that reservation confirmation email indicates the reservation agent didn't know his computer screen very well, either. ThanksHUBERT C.

Moving truck for a day and paid $259 which included a $100 deposit for the type of debit card I used but was also charged a $60 deposit for a $10 appliance dolly that was not refunded back to me upon return. This was by far the worst experience ever. It would help if they had vehicles available for people who had reservations. Got to the facility at 10 and waited in line for over an hour due to one person working. They didn't even have a vehicle for me. We were sorely disappointed with how this location handled our belongings during Tropical Storm Imelda, Sept 2019. The staff took it upon themselves to dispose of our furniture and various items without giving us a chance to make an assessment, even though they promised to do so. The items were in storage while we renovated our property and since then we've had to refurnish the whole house. Phillip, one of the owners of this location, is the ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to customer service.
