I created an online reservation but came to pick up my truck in person at the front desk. Instead of having the employees help with the check in process, I was told that I needed to work through their online portal from my phone. The online portal was terrible! It was loading slowly, I had to manually input my information for my CC and license multiple times because of errors, and I had to wait while everything was approved through the app. If I had wanted to do everything online I would have, but to come into the store and then be made to use the online app was frustrating to say the least. The employees there were very nice and very easy to work with when I had questions, but according to them, the policy was to use the online portal app which is just annoying. If you want to do everything online, that's ok, but don't offer an in-person option and then not let people use it. I don't want to be penalized if I didn't have my phone on me for some reason or I have an older phone that won't support the uhaul online portal.

The truck had a broken muffler and while driving it had difficulty shifting from high to low while in gear.
George Lthere was grease /soot on the back bumper that got a;; over my mattress the back of the truck was not cleaned out, i had to do self service cause their was only one person at the counter, and i feel i was over charged i didn't drive as far as i thought and barley used any of the gas. NOEL LLosing my business isn’t going to affect U Haul’s bottom line in any way but there will have to be literally no other option for me to rent here again. This new online check in requirement is the worst. Why even have counter people when all they do is hand me my key. I just want walk in, hand you my license and credit card and drive away but… Be required to connect to the store’s Wi-Fi? Fuck you Have to give you access to my location and photos? Bite me Have to scroll through eight pages of pre populated up sells and add ons where the phrase “no I do not want this” are all the way at the bottom of the page and in the smallest font on the whole page? Suck it Return the truck at night and have to log back in, answer twenty questions and take ten photos in the cold when I’m exhausted from loading and unloading all day, all while being threatened with additional charges at every step? Lick my ass I’m sure this new app is great for U Haul but it is tedious as fuck for the actual customer. That’s it, that’s my rant. I’m sick of companies outsourcing their work to the customer - and now this app won’t even let me submit my comments if I don’t give them their fucking stars on the questions above when my anger isn’t with the location but the company. Fine, I am going to give the location the proper ratings because I don’t want them punished for corporate sucking ass. What a bunch of CYA bullshit - it’s the customer or the location not our own pain in the ass cost savings policies- so have one final Fuck You

BROOKE KMobile check in was a disaster. Asking for employer phone/contact is unacceptable. I then went for in person check in but the lady at the counter (very nice btw) “couldn’t” check me in since I selected mobile check in. Picture upload wouldn’t work on the mobile app. Advertising a $29 rate, and another $59 “rental” rate is misleading and borderline false advertising. It was not clear I had to put fuel back in the truck, so I was charged an outrageous $35 for probably 3 gallons of gas. Overall poor experience.

WALTRINA MI rated it average for 2 reasons. First the 10’ truck was clean however the front passenger side bumper was being held on by zip tie which I questioned its safety. For what one pays to rent a truck it should have been repaired correctly not zip tied. Second you suggest we take picture of the vehicle and mileage/gas which I did where you had it waiting on me which was not in the drop off return area it was on the side of the building. I took pictures before moving the truck the gas gauge read almost full. As I slowly started to move to rehook my seatbelt I noticed that the gas gauge now read much less then were it did because it’s now on a flat surface putting the gas just at half a tank. I took pictures before moving again. When we returned the truck I explained this to the gentleman who meet me in the drop off area and shared the photos showing the big difference he thought it was funny I certainly did not and he made the remark oh you caught that as if they knew in advance what they were doing. Making people think the gas is at one level when reality it honestly is much lower which I found disturbing. When we put the gas in it before returning it I wasn’t sure which to go by so we actually filled it to the “faulse” reading they tried to make us believe it was at from the beginning. The gentleman said they had to go with the orginal reading really that is so dishonest. We should’ve been offered a discount or apology at the least but no nothing what so ever. I find the scam that went on is done daily after the guy who checked the truck back in seemed to know the gas wasn’t were they claimed it to even be from the start with his remark. Please advise your team the correct way to check out a truck and not put the truck on the slant it was at when we were told to look over the truck and make note of any damages prior to leaving because clearly the gas gauge is not correct making your customers responsible for gas they never knew wasn’t there.
KAREN WThe employee at the front desk seemed like she was inconvenienced that she had to work because I wasn’t receiving texts with a one time code to log in after scanning the QR code to fulfill my reservation. After this was complete, she told me to walk outside to find my Uhaul. When I did so, no one was out there to tell me which Uhaul was mine. So I walked back inside and asked the woman only for her to again yell at me and tell me it’s outside. So I walked back outside and someone was finally there to tell me which was mine. Also when I returned the truck, I was told I had to pay a gas fee. I was not told by the woman that I had to fill back up the 29 miles of gas I was estimated to use prior to returning. I thought this was included in the price. Overall, real terrible customer service with the employee at the desk.
ROBERT SClearly state on the app it’s not just mileage but fuel charges as well. We thought if we’re paying.99 per mile that covers fuel. It does not. But the overall experience was very good. Love the mobile check in and out. Light years from the way it used to be! Good job!

The folks there are friendly and helpful and the equipment is very well maintained. This time I also rented, for my first time ever, a car carrier. The staff explained everything important to me and helped me load my strange little mini truck onto the carrier - not an easy task I might add. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!

HARRY DOnly minor comment involved the fuel level (FL) of the rental vehicle. The initial FL was recorded by the staff as half full, when really it was about 3/8ths full. Standing outside the vehicle looking in, due to parallax error, the FL looked to be half, but seated in the drivers seat with a straight look at the fuel meter showed that it wasn’t…I took a picture before leaving, showed it to the staff when I returned the vehicle, and they agreed that they had misread the FL & I was not charged for “missing” fuel.

HARRY DThe staff was very accommodating and helpful, and the store was well-equipped with all kinds of moving/storage supplies and rentals. My main critique was with the truck because I don't think it was ready to be released to anyone and it was not a comfortable drive to Florida. 1.) The cab was absolutely filthy with hair and dust all over the seats, floorboard, and dash at pick-up. I had to shop-vac the cab when I got home, when this shouldn't have been my job to do. 2.) The engine light was also On, but I was told it should be okay. Though I don't believe the engine light issue affected my trip, this should have been corrected prior to the truck's release as a precaution. 3.) Lastly, steering the truck was very difficult because the wheels were misaligned. I had to keep the steering wheel aimed to the left to make the truck go straight, even though I made sure my heavy items were towards the front, the weight was balanced, and my car was positioned correctly on the autotransport. I steered left when the truck was full and when it was empty without the autotransport so I know weight was not the issue. I pointed this out when the truck was dropped off and they agreed it needed a wheel alignment.

I never had to ask and he always made himself available. He was particularly polite, professional, helpful and kind.

I will not be back and neither will anyone that I speak with.
Jesse Z | Overall ExperienceThere need to be trash cans more centrally located within the Uhaul storage area itself, the fact that we had to walk all the way around the entire building to get to the dumpster was extremely time consuming and ill-efficient. Clearly others feel the same way because there was constantly trash strewn through out the corridors. There is always a super long line in the customer service area and oftentimes associates who are unwilling and uninterested in helping whatsoever. On several occasions we had issues with Carol, who was not only demeaning, and apathetic but has the customer service ability of a dirty diaper. Sadly enough, she is the Manager or Owner!! As the highest on payroll she deserves a severe demotion and someone else needs to run that place. The only thing this place has going for it is its location and proximity to downtown. That and theres a young man who works there named TJ who is the diamond in the rough at that place. He works mostly outside, in the heat, helping to return and clean out the Uhauls. Our interaction with him was the only positive experience we can glean from patronizing with this Uhaul. He deserves a raise and a promotion for maintaining a positive attitude, being helpful, dilligent, willing to go above and beyond for the customer, all amidst clearly poor conditions and management that he has to work with. I hope his spirit doesnt get broken by the terrible attitudes of his colleagues and I hope UHAUL as a company regonizes his hard work and enacts stricter guidelines for the rude "managment" and "Customer service" agent you all have employed there.
