The location was great but the website/online pick up/checkout was a horrible experience. The website would not recognize I was at the location based off of my phone's GPS (even though my phone's gps ITSELF was showing me at the correct location) so I was unable to continue with the online process- tech support was entirely unhelpful and my only option was to drive twenty minutes away and pick up from a different location, delaying my move by an hour and (understandably) angering the movers that I had hired THROUGH Uhaul. Never again would I possibly risk trying to pick up a truck with the obviously flawed online check-out system. Other than that, everything else was great and the guys at the physical location were super helpful
Ethan F.Contactless checkin: use mobile device to “check in.†Well it kept saying that I was not at the location but I was . I had to find the QR code to scan. Did that. Then had to go through the check in process -fine though very extensive- then I had to wait for them to call my reference which took forever, waited for them to “approve†after they called. Then had to view and check that “I agree†with the agreement. Did that. Said it was going to tell me where they keys are Got the “loading†screen then screen that said the site is unavailable. Went out and logged back in again. It said i already have the truck though I didnt even know where they keys are. Had no way to find that out. Finally went in facility and waited in line, which is what I was trying to avoid. Finally got help. I told him what was going on and he reached behind him and got the keys. Like- so much for the contactless check in since i was going to have to go in to get the keys anyway and wait in line, after spending literally 45 minutes in the lot trying to check in to avoid all that other stuff. Got in the truck, gas tank on empty. Cant find the parking break anywhere. No way to adjust the mirrors without getting out and adjusting the mirrors after walking around to the other side the truck, but that doesnt work because how does anyone know where to adjust them to since they are not looking at and adjusting them while in drivers seat. Truck seemed very old and had problems shifting. I was not happy at all. In addition. When I first reserved the truck, it kept trying to sell me other stuff - i get that. But it was a lot of extra steps and screens to keep saying no to stiff. Also, i got my confirmation email of my reservation, but when I tried to find it, it kept saying that i had no reservation. Had to figure that out.

Linda H.I just received my bill and noticed a $25.00 cleaning fee? The girl that unhitched the trailer did not check the trailer and I had forgotten that I had left a pallet in the back. If she had done her job correctly- she would have checked the back before I drove away and I would have taken the pallet with me. Therefore , because of U Hauls lack of thoroughness with the return, I would like the $25.00 charge removed and credited. I rent a ton from U Haul (please see activity) and would appreciate a small pass on this as it was a negligible and neglectful thing on my part. The truck was very beat up in the bed lining and inside which is surprising of how new the truck was and previously rented from this location normally it was clean but it has gone down hill. Staff was nice well the one that was working Sunday.

Janee J.When I reserve a 5x8, give me a 5x8. I made my reservation at a close convenient location weeks in advance. I checked multiple times to ensure I chose a 5x8 trailer. I built the framing I needed to fit the dimensions you provide for your 5x8 trailers online. On the day I was scheduled to pick up my trailer, I find out I've been “upgraded†to a twin axle 6x12. I called the location where my reservation was set only to get a shrugged off answer and a “I'll make a note in the system†response. He said someone should call in an hour or so. I didn't wait and called uhaul. They found the right trailer but at a location downtown further out of my way. I went and picked it up without a fuss because I needed it and was relieved it was available. When it came time to return the trailer, I assumed I could drop it off at my original reserved location. That was not the case, so I had to drive it back downtown. The “upgrade†nearly ruined my plans. I gave plenty of notice making my reservation weeks ahead of time. Uhaul could have done a number of things to prevent this frustration. You could have informed me that my desired location doesn't have a 5x8 and ask me if a 6x12 would work. You could have transferred the 5x8 to my reserved location since you had weeks to arrange it. At the very least you could have allowed me to return the trailer to my local reserved location. Bottom line, don't “upgrade†to avoid giving the customer what they asked for.

The truck. was generally clean but lots of dirt and grass around base of seats, it took two clorox wipes to clean steering wheel, they came up black. wasnt walked to truck, was just told... Its one of the ones parked out there.

I spent at least 15 minutes in the cold waiting for it to upload. We started my phone and eventually just use my wife's phone in order for it to work. Please update your software.

He (GM) was kind enough to let me know he is refunding me the 15.00 late fee that was incurred in November on my account because the notice of late payment was mailed to my old address. He also listened to my concerns and reassured me he would work to communicate his expectations to his employees. I rented a pick up truck from Enterprise to collect my items. I do not plan on using Uhaul in any capacity moving forward. Which is unfortunate considering Uhaul was my preferred brand and I recommended them to everyone I knew. That all ended thanks to the poor customer service at this location. I sold my house in April and had to move 4 separate times for work. Moving forward I'll keep using 2 men in a truck / black belt movers / penske /enterprise. I'll also be renting from Dino's or Armor Storage as I have done in the past. Saturday afternoon when I stopped at the L street location, there were 2 females behind the counter talking with each other. When they finally finished their non work related concersation, the smaller one asked how she could help me. I told her I had a free rental and would like a 10 x 15 rental inside if there was one available. She got up, walked to the wall behind her, pulled a sheet of paper out of a container on the wall and proceeded to study it. After about 5 minutes she said sorry we don't have any 10 x 15 units inside. We only have outside units. I told her I didn't want an outside unit and asked what was available inside. She studied the paper again for a long while then said there was one 10 x 15 unit on the second floor and an 8 x 10. I explained we had heavy furniture so the unit on the second floor wouldn't work and that we had too much for an 8 x 10. I then asked her if we took the 10 x 15outside unit could we check back and switch to an inside unit if one came available inn the next week. She said no, not when it is the free rental. I told her I would wait and talk to my boyfriend who was meeting me at the locatioon. When he arrived about 5 minutes later" we wnt inside. The two girls were on their way out the door and said we have to check a truck so you can wait if you want bub it will ve awhile. We needed a unit so we gad no chiice but to wait. Thankfully, a third male employee came into the office at that time. He immediately greeted us, asked how he could help and within 2 minutes had a 10 x 15 indoor unit pulled up on the computer to rent to us. Not sure if th e first female employee was just too lazy to help us or just not trained??? Any 45 minutes after arriving, we finally had a first floor unit. A manager might want to also speak to the 2 female employees and remind them to limit their personal conversations while customers are waiting and to avoid making comments like Ugh not another truck to check in. Oh God, now there are two . Crap.
