UHaul should always tell clients that you can't park them in the streets without a trailer and to make sure they find out if they need a permit to park from their town. This needs to be emphasized. I only knew this because I did research but not everyone has access to do researchLAURA C.

I requested a pickup at a location near me and I was made to pickup at a location that was not good for me. My cost was much higher because I had to pay for a taxi both ways to this location. Reservation location was changed without notification after the reservation was pushed back an hour already (I was understanding up to this point). I was then told that my 6 hour rental was changed to 4 hours upon pick up. After speaking with customer service I was told â€œit's not ideal, but it is what it is.â€ The price was not adjusted at all even though my reservation was cut by two hours. I then had a crew unload an entire 26 ft truck onto a front lawn as opposed to into the house so I could get the truck back in time (not for uhauls sake and not to avoid the penalty but so that the family who had reserved it after me did not have the same experience and be told â€œtough luckâ€ as well). I returned the truck without filling up the 1/8 of a tank I used to meet the time and get back to my crew and help. I asked the location to at the very least waive the gas fee. I then received not one, but two charges on my credit card for gas. I'm not one to write a review but this was the most infuriating experience I've had in quite some time and along the way I was met with apathy from every individual I spoke with and was told I was out of luck. I also was met with a â€œthis is not our problemâ€ from the location, from customer service, and from the scheduling department. I asked them to do something to make it right (again, not one to ever do this) and was met with â€œwe understand, but this is not our problemâ€. I've had nothing but positive experiences with uhaul up to this point and this single experience makes me never want to use them again.ALEXANDERWILLIAM H.

I reserved a 20 foot truck which was not there when I needed it. They they tell me we have nothing for you. I complain that I rent a truck every 2 weeks to haul $10,000 worth of goods. They then give me a 15 foot truck that was dirty but I used it. I should be getting frequent flyer discounts and trucks I order for $600-$800 a month truck expenses. Not impressed maybe Ryder or budget will give better deals.Brandon F.

Uhaul depew canceled my reservation without any notice and rented out all of the moving trucks including the one that was reserved for me. Upon trying to pick up my vehicle, the salesman made every excuse in the book why I cannot get a vehicle because of THEIR mistake in canceling my appointment without permission. The sales representative didn't seem to care one bit that now my moving experience has been turned into nothing but stress because of uhaul. Perry street uhaul pretty much saved my move. The salesman was respectful and helpful, and did everything he could 10 minutes before closing to make DEPEWs mistake and lack of customer service, corrected. I spent 20 miles more in charges to get a truck from uhaul perry street because of depews mistake and they have no intention to make it right. Perry street said that depew owes me a $50 reimbursement which I have yet to be told about from depew. Although Perry street was amazing to me after depews mess up, because of depews lack of respect and accountability, I will not be using uhaul service again.Paige V.

Hi, As i mentioned at the u-haul location, I had to returned the equipment because the rear dock was damaged and it didn't open, I found out about the damage when I arrived in the location where I had to move my things and head back immediately to the store. Upon returning of the equipment the rep from u-haul said that he had put down the equipment because it had been reported as damaged before so I don't understand why this van was given to me at the first place. Due to this inconvenient I had to postpone important matters a week. Having said all the above, I want a refund of the money I paid. Thanks,Jorge D.

I cannot say strongly enough how good my experience with Larkin District U-Haul was. They were kind, professional, and very knowledgable. They even were familiar with my exact block from dropping off my U-Box. I am so, so impressed. The manager was especially helpful. She is clearly very good at her job and inspiring her staff to be their best. They deserve all the awards, honestly. I originally ordered my boxes to be on a trailer. When the delivery driver called to confirm a drop off, they were not on a trailer. The current Perry St location manager (Carolin Doyle) was EXTREMELY patient & helpful in resolving my most recent problem. My storage room was "presumed" to have been "vacated" - without making any attempt to contact me for verification - based on my failure to place a lock on the door, even tho it was simply because I hadn't yet moved anything into the unit. I was never prev advised that the lock was required, even on an empty unit & even tho the rent was fully paid to date. I was very impressed with her customer service efforts. I do wish, however, that there was 24 hour access to my indoor unit (or perhaps at least extended hours thru midnight or 1am) - similar to that of our outside storage units.
