The rental I paid for came 2 hours late, the equipment was rented out to a friend of an employee so when I inquired about the delay I was treated poorly and the staff showed poor attitude and told me â€œtoo bad, you have to waitâ€ I will be making a formal complain to corporate.Christian B.

Overall my experience was excellent. I had to think hard to determine areas of improvement and after much thought and being that I rented equipment at other locations in the state. The first rental went smooth a week later it was a disaster upon return charged for things that weren't supposed to be I was very unhappy with that!!! I was told I will be refunded and charge off my credit card!!! Still waiting I will follow up most definitely. The young gentleman named Christopher was VERY POLITE, GREAT WORKER and understood the problem and stated he was going to bring it to the attention of the manager and get me refunded!!! Don't no what goes on there HOWEVER Chris seems to be the only one who does know how to run the place!! I will be standing by waiting on my refund and I hope it will be soon an taken off my CC!!!joscph M.

The two gentlemen that checked me out were remarkably professional and friendly. I dropped off 2 minutes before closing, and they were both very happy to stay and get me checked out. I honestly feel like they should be commended on their helpfulness and professionalism. It is not very common these days, but they were both great. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.Brian S.

I would suggest that the employees bring the truck around to the front for the person renting especially when they have medical issues. To have the person renting walk completely around the mini mall to the rear of the building and get the truck themselves is absolutely ridiculous. There was no walk around the vehicle to assess damage. I was charged incorrectly. Plainville office was supposed to have been my choice of City to rent in. I reserved a 26 ft truck and two days prior to my move was downgraded to a 20-foot. Arrived at 11:00 a.m. for my reservation and was told I was getting a 17 foot truck! This was not acceptable as I would have to make more trips which would require more gas and more mileage costs. After all of this I was told they don't even have a truck in the Plainville office and that I would have to go to Meriden. My movers were scheduled only for a short amount of time and I was unable to get the job completed in that time frame after having to go to Meriden out of my way to pick up a truck. There is supposed to be a $50 credit for reservation guarantee that I have still not received. Meriden office told me Plainville office was supposed to credit me that and give me cash directly which did not happen. Return my truck to Meriden and they want to charge me $99.95 for the truck rental which should have been $39.95. This claim is still on hold until I speak with the manager in the Meriden office. Will be going there today to handle this issue. I did call the day of my rental and spoke to an employee and asked if I could keep it in additional day at no charge due to the delay and all my issues. My movers had to leave and I couldn't finish the job and I was told that was not an issue but when I returned the truck they wanted to charge me an additional day. I will be handling this today and if not resolved will be calling corporate. Do not rent from U-Haul.Tracy T.

The U-haul staff at the 311 W. Main St, Meriden, CT location was top notch. Both the pick-up and drop-off were pleasant experiences because of the staff. The gentleman that helped with the pick-up was extremely receptive to making sure the equipment loaned was safe. I had to try several trailers due to an electrical issue with my vehicle which was eventually diagnosed as a blown fuse. My rental was extended additional time while my electrical issue was fixed. When returning my rental, the gentleman was very understanding and did not charge a late fee although he could have. I have used many other U-haul's in the past, this was by far my best experience to date.Thomas M.
The guys at this site are thieves, they ripped me off by claiming the gas was full when they indicated on the document given to me that it was half. I returned the gas half full like I met it but because I made a mistake taking the picture of the battery instead of the gas, they took advantage of me.Akinbayo A.
Dolly we paid for was not in the truck. Our truck was all the way in the back of an alley where our main car's tire was punctured by a bolt. We needed to replace the tire the day of our move, extra stress added and money spent.Christopher F.

I was told fuel full. I fueled it up and it took 5 gallons. If you add the $22 plus the $32 I spent picking up the dolly and returning home I spent an extra $54 dollars on fuel. I filled it when I returned it in Wyoming. If you have the customer doing your job you should reimburse them.Gregory M.
Idk why but I was charged 35.00 by uhaul in Meriden I over filled the truck with gas I put 40.00 dollars in it but only used a quarter tank. I was not told about an extra charge by meriden u-haul but come Monday afternoon I notified by my bank they charged me 35.00 for what idk and would like to be refunded truck was returned the way I received it and put more gas than I used.John L.
I rented a box truck on West Main Meriden Connecticut yesterday just returned it today the back of it was dirty the whole inside does not even look like it's been a wipe down it was napkins and a straw on the floor and the radio glass was broke so I couldn't even use the radio I have pictures if needed and the AC takes forever to get coldKyle R.

Great experience at this location. Employees were helpful and accommodating. I think where the open trailers are parked is not ideal for hooking up. Customers are blocking traffic when hooking up trailers.Malick D.

My truck was all the way around the back of a supermarket. This as almost a 5 minute walk. Also, they didn't tell me at first where the truck was so I walked around looking at the other trucks that were near the office and couldn't find it - I went in and asked and that's when they told me it was around back. This along with the awful on line check in experience would lead me to say that I wouldn't recommend Uhaul.Marc H.

I was extremely disappointed in the service I received at this location. My rental time ran past what I selected in my reservation due to traffic. I called the location before I returned and waited on hold to speak with someone and no one picked up the call. When I arrived to return the vehicle no one asked spoke to me about being over my return time. They took the keys and said I was â€œall setâ€. I have called the location several times after seeing my rental receipt. I called yesterday and spoke to someone about the situation, they put me on hold and never came back to the phone.Wayne N.

The gentleman that checked me in was very nice! When we arrived he was washing the outside of the van and had great customer service! Inside the van however smelled so badly of cigarettes. That to me is so gross and would cause me never to rental anything from this location again. Also, I checked the vehicle in twice when I returned and was still charged the $20 fee, which was later fixed. I should have taken better pictures of the mileage and gas tank before and after because I believe that I was charged for extra miles and gas. I did refill the gas before returning. I had rented two other vehicles from different locations the week prior and had such great experiences, I didn't think to do it this time.Michelle H.
They failed to Check in my trailer telling me that I would have a email shortly... no email came... so i called and went straight to the main U-Haul line... was told the they have been notified and that it would get checked in. then the next email I get is a receipt for a wrong location drop off... and a charge for $190... i called and after some convincing they refunded me the charge... but his is not a way to run a U-Haul location. next time I will not leave till i get confirmation that the trailer has been returnedNate S.

Issues with entering the unit had I waited until after hours which I had planned to do I wouldn’t have had access to the until to unload the truck we rented in time for the next day return. My code didn’t work to get in so I called the office and they were open I had to go get a card to get in I go back down to the unit and there was a note stating there was a lock included but not in the unit itself I called the office again, same person I spoke to about access, she stated I had to go back up and retrieve the lock… just a bit annoyed with the customer service and lack of attention to detail.Maria I. | Online Move In

I reserved my unit a month in advance. I was not informed that i would not get a unit size as requested and reserved and only found this out the sat of my move which made the situation stressful. The facility did not even have the unit size that I needed. I then needed to reserve TWO smaller units at a combined higher price than I wanted/needed to pay.
