Disgruntled customer. I hate this company. Unfair treatment, dishonesty, not worthy to serve the public. They should be washed off the face of the earth. How dare you charge me $740.00 for a broken down truck. You robbed me without a gun. When the world ends, I asked God to destroy Uhaul first. Stop sending me this mess. I was not told that I was going to be billed everyday for the broken down truck. I had to unpack 3 full loads for 2 weeks with no help. Only my son and I struggled in the rain, snow and bitter cold weather trying to unpack these trucks while rushing to do so. I lost 5 days of work and placed on probation. If your truck was running properly, which I complained about a total of 5 times and no one listened to me. I spoke to 11 different people and finally when I did receive assistance, the truck had broken completely down. We had a total of 2 hours everyday to unpack after I had gotten off work. We unpacked in the cold rain, 12-15 inches of snow, sleet and we had no light. The technician disconnected everything and we and to unpack using the flashlight from our cellphones. This move was deadly for me and my son. I had no one to help us and we never complained about your POOR service. If you live in a warm state that has a warm climate, you have no idea what it is to move in the freezing temperature of 12 degrees. You guys sit in your high up positions, calling shots about people moving with no consideration about your raggedy gas guzzling 2004 truck. You had the audacity to rush me and then billed me all of this money for your broken down truck. All of this could have been avoided if you would have listened to me in the beginning wen I told you about the fumes that came from the truck. Our breathing was affected and all of this has been noted from day one. If there was no problem per the smart mouth technician, then the truck would have never broken down. Penske may be slightly expensive but, their service puts Uhaul to shame. Leave me alone. I am going to pay this bill on a monthly basis because I cannot afford this outrageous, rip off amount. Then because of our upper respiratory issue that was caused by inhaling the deadly fumes, we are now going to follow-up legally with this unfair issue. The nerve of you. Everything is documented on your side as well. The solution from the very beginning should have been to give me another truck and, all of this mess could have been avoided. I am a woman who caught heck with using your unfit truck. I have a lot of pictures showing what the beat-up truck looks like, ranging from the headlight and dents. Leave me alone. Uhaul is a racketeering business and I hate you for what you have done to me including all of the stress, humility, and thought of giving up on life because of the fear of losing everything and rushing to try to save my belongings. The location was understaffed for a Saturday-- probably the busiest day. Big line, they were checking people in and out constantly and hustling to turn trucks around. They had no manager, two young adult employees and one teenage assistant who was not legal to drive the vehicles. The young man who was running things was smart & personable & managed the chaos very well, but when someone "wanted to talk to the manager" they were being told to wait until Monday, which made people mad and held up the line. They were doing as well as they could under the circumstances, but why not give them a fighting chance?JOSHUA S.

Glad I did self pick up on the Uhaul App. There was a long line of 6-8 people at this Cleveland Heights location. I asked the 2nd person in line and they said they had been waiting 25 minutes to check out. Frustratingly, the UHaul App I used did not allow me to take damage pictures or confirm odometer upon pickup. The interior of the truck was clean and comfortable. The truck issued to me had the check engine light on at all times during my rental although it appeared there were no apparent issues with truck performance other than very poor gas mileage. The passenger side mirror was so loose, it would not stay in a safe, useable position. It needed to be readjusted every time there was a bump on the road... constantly. The knob on the passenger manual window was missing making it hard to roll down window to adjust mirror. We finally decided, keep the window down, blast the heat & my son held the mirror in position to safely see on that side of the truck...espically when changing lanes on the freeway... very frustrating... I will likely rent here again but I'll leave more time for me to inspect the truck and confirm all safety issues, espically mirrors, are working prior to leaving the Uhaul location. The gentlemen, Anthony (I think?) who checked me in upon return was excellent. I pointed out the issues with the truck and he apologized and said that my truck should have never been issued to me in that condition. I appreciate his understanding and sincereity. Location completely out of moving blankets, even though we had reserved them. This cost us a trip and extra $60 at Home Depot to purchase only 5 blankets. Staff was slow. Only plus was that they had two people working for a busy Saturday.NIDENA L.

I do think it's important that turn signals work. When I made my first left turn, the dashboard blinker was going twice as fast as it should have. This is an indication that a light is out. I checked: it was the rear left turn signal, which is important. After being followed by a police officer for a whole after making two left turns, I had a feeling that they might have been checking on me because of a lack of turn signal indication. I was a little aggravated, but on the other hand, nothing came of it. The staff at this location is wonderful. I felt well taken care of. I was welcomed into the store; the customer service rep was very much in command of her position, and I had no questions to ask because she told me everything I needed to know. The good sir who brought me to my van was polite, happy, and he explained the after-hours return process very clearly. I have used this location numerous times in the past six years since moving to Cleveland Heights. I highly recommend it. But dear UHaul: turn signal shorts are no joke, especially with a moving van. I paid for the insurance on this, and while it's not a big deal, it actually kind of is.Daniel K.

Nothing. This was very easy and painless. I would only say one thing, there ought to be a bit more leeway with extending the return time. If someone is responsible enough to arrange, in advance, to have the truck for an additional day to give them time to unload it, there ought to be a no-fee way to do that. I do understand about charging someone who returns a truck late without making any prior arrangement. In general, though, cut us some slackâ€”we are moving ourselves and it is hard!John H.

In fairness to the location, they were busy and it was snowing quite a bit when we arrived to drop the trailer off on Sunday, 11/28. We parked at the drop off spot and waited for someone to approach (we've used this site before). The guy that approached never came to the car window, never asked to see any documentation, but instead walked to the rear and began the unhitching process. Once he was finished, my husband had to get out and go after him because he'd left Uhaul's connector for the taillights plugged into my vehicle. When that was handed off, he asked my husband's assistance to push the trailer into a parking spot. With the trailer parked, we left thinking all was fine. On 12/1, I noticed a missed call from an unknown number with no voicemail left. A Google search of the number found it was the Uhaul drop off location. I attempted to call back to see what the issue was, and got dropped in the Uhaul customer service line for a 30 minute wait. Kim with Customer Service was great! She was quick with her questions because it was close to time for the drop off location to close. She placed me on hold and called them, and was able to speak to someone who said they'd check the lot again for the trailer. I'm frustrated with the lack of professionalism during this drop off. Why call me and then not leave a message if you still don't have record of my returning the trailer? I also had no follow up contact from this location, no call or email to say "Hey, we found it! You're all set!" The only way I knew it was located was by checking the uhaul website, and receiving the email for this survey. We've used this location in the past for both drop off and pick up, and I don't think we've had an experience like this previously. This likely won't deter us from using them again, but I hope any future experiences are better.Jillian C.
