The man who received the uhaul was chewing dip and kept spitting it on my feet and arm, he was homophobic, racist, and sexist, he was very poor at communicating, and very disrespectful.

I was charged for two days after being told I would only be charged for one. The car hauler was so rusted and horribly maintained, I was afraid the bearings would catch on fire. Horrible experience from this location.

I made the reservation nearly 24 hrs in advance, so I expected the cargo van to be ready and clean. After registration, Terry Bowles gave me the key and pointed out front saying my van was "one of those". I had to remove the card sales sign inside the vehicle. The seats were dirty and the windshield was filthy. I had an appointment to keep so I drove the van "as is". I returned the van early and asked for a discount because of the filth. Terry's reaction was " there's windshield fluid you could use". I told him I did use it, but the window was too dirty, it needed scrubbed. Then he said "we don't clean the vans. You should've come back and asked for another one!" I asked for the discount again, but he walked away from me. I got angry saying I wanted customer service. He told me Uhaul didn't want my kind of business and said "get off my property!". My money and time is good as anyone's. I should expect a clean vehicle and good service, things Terry Bowles is too lazy and indifferent to provide. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone, and Terry Bowles should be written up for not doing his job.

I've been over charged on my rental and the employee at my drop location is not able to help me. I need someone to contact me ASAP at 757-615-8497! The employee failed to check my rental in on time, even though I was on the lot before the designated return time.

Low inventory,No communication, I was over charged then had to wait to get it fixed. Because the guy working didn’t know how to fix it. When returning truck I was asked to help do a light check. I didn’t know I worked for uhaul I guess I will get that check some day.

My issue was not specifically the Melrose location but the fact that uhaul was having a system issue and I was unable to rent anything. I was at the Melrose location for 2 hours trying to rent a trailer. We even attempted to reserve and do an Express checkout. I was able to do that from my phone but still the clerk (who was trying very hard) could not check me out because his screen was locked up. I went to another location, Hershberger Rd and they were having the same issue. Customers coming in to rent were walking away. I understand having a centralized system allow for more features but there should be a way to continue your business when that system is down (just my thoughts). My experience with uhaul technology was bad not with the people or product. The trailer I finally got to rent was excellent, easy to understand and tow with little experience. I would recommend that product and Melrose location assuming everything else was working. Thanks

It took over 45 minutes until I finally called 1-800 customer service to figure out want was the issue. Dispatcher didn’t understand I was renting a trailer in Virginia to travel in Virginia with a Texas address. The dispatcher should have asked for help after failing three times.

The pickup location was great and everything was clean. I don’t know what type of maintenance corporate requires of the local branch, but all of the wheel bearings on the trailer were in terrible shape. I know because I also lost a tire entirely when one of the wheel bearing completely shredded itself. I didn’t notice until I got to my destination and I looked at my mirror and the tire was off axis. It’s a miracle that it didn’t roll of on the highway because when I lifted the trailer to see what went wrong, the wheel fell right off! Naturally I checked the other wheels to see the condition of the bearings, and while less than ideal, they were safe to drive to the dropoff location. The original pickup location I had scheduled was run down and the only trailer they had was broken but the melrose ave location was clean and well maintained and the service was great!

I know i put 5 stars every time but this place is grate! T completely trust them to take care of my needs to fully ancer any questions i have in a way that I understand and that means a lot i am a small business owner and my time means alot thay are always here for me i can call any time and there are there for me thank you michael for all that you do for us, thank uhall so much less expensive than renting from outher companies..

I always have a great experience at the Melrose location in Roanoke VA. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The equipment I need is always available when I need it. The few times a year I need a truck, I would much rather rent the type and size I need from U-Haul than to pay monthly payments and maintenance cost to own a pickup truck.

Fix the truck that I used. When we unloaded, we had a couple box springs in the attic part of the truck and one of them was went on the end facing the front of the truck. I did not expect the truck to have a leak but it did.

customer service was fabulous. Prepared vehicle for my arrival after phone call, came right out when I drove the vehicle back, without having to search for attendant! A bit expensive, but fixed a last-minute-problem I had without a lot of fuss.
