Great service at counter.


The service was done well. However, I brought back the trailer 20 mins late and was charged an entire day. I'm not happy about this at all!!!


The staff was more than helpfull and professional. The credit card machice wasnt working properly and had to do it 4 times in order to get the transaction to go through. Then the tire blew own on way back from destination. so we had tire replaced nad had purchased the upgraded insurance plan . We need to be compensated for that. I realize problems arrise however Uhaul just needs to make this reight!!

-I am very displeased with the rental process. I reserved your trailer to be picked up/dropped off a location convenient to me 4+ weeks in advance of needing it. Days prior to pickup you notify me to tell me I have to go to another location 30 miles away (round trip)! That is for YOUR CONVENIENCE and not the CUSTOMERS. You had plenty of time to ensure the equipment I requested/reserved was at MY DESIRED pick up location. POOR SERVICE. On drop off day I promptly returned the trailer at the same hour of pickup but one day early. Your customer technician was with other customers and yet quickly/politely disconnected it ensuring I'd receive a receipt via email. I did but it was for the entire requested rental period AND represented I dropped it off 30 minutes later. I sent an email to the contact ( and stopped by the drop off location the next day without resolution. I contacted Helena Williams, E-Customer Service Agent at who was extremely helpful and initiated my one-day refund. This should have happened on drop off day.


I know this is not Melroses fault,but when i set this up online it changed location,and sent text that pickup location was Lynchburg now i know i put the correct address as pickup,I shouldnt have to but i had to look it up,,so the website is doin somthn funky u need to look into it


I was disappointed when I picked up the truck with half a tank of gas. When I called to make reservations I ask could I pay cash or do I have to pay with a card. I wasn't told that with cash I had to pay 300.00, but with a debt card I could pay whatever the price was given to me. I was so angry and mad because I had cash and my husband had to use his debt card to purchase the truck. You all need to let customers be aware of the options while the are making there reservations.

Make sure the employees check the lot for the return of the vehicle instead of calling about 3 hours after it was due back to inquire where it is. I rented the vehicle at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday August 23 I dropped the vehicle back off around 9:30 p.m. the same night August 23 and on August 24th around 4:p.m. I get a call reminding me I need to return the vehicle. I informed him the vehicle was in the lot parked behind 3 other vehicles an it had been there since the night before.


Have not received my final contract statement I feel I have been overcharged Not sure why I cannot get any kind of invoice


I originally reserved my auto transport at the Hershberger Road Uhaul. The man working the counter told me I had to wear a mask and I didn't have one. I pulled my shirt up but that wasn't good enough. I was told to leave and use my phone to pick up the trailer. I don't use a smart phone and couldn't do that. He didn't care. A woman had to intervene for us and when all was said and done, he still refused to wait on me and transfered my reservation to the Melrose location. When there, the employee asked me why I had been "difficult" with the last guy. Apparently I have absolutely no privacy from store to store and can be badgered by any employee. If this had only happened once I would take it at face value, but this is the THIRD time I have had trouble with Uhaul. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the services of this company. Last time I picked up an auto transport, the tire was flat and the jack didn't work. They sent me 70 MILES out of my way to pick one up, then tried to charge me TWICE. Very over this company and thinking about using Penske or someone else.


The employee at the Melrose location was gracious enough to get us a truck and tow dolly even though our reservation was with a nearby location that had a sign on the door at 4:55 saying they'd gone to lunch and would be back by 5:45 when our pickup time was 5:00.

The hatch was open, it was a 26 foot truck, parked on the back corner. The guy working had to get it out and to do that he had to hit this giant wooden box with the bumper to move it out of the way. Did this twice. Glad he did it so it wasn't us that got blamed for any damage. There was small damage at the top of the trailer and we couldn't see it where it was parked and all of the trees because of this the drop off location tried to blame us for it. Not their fault as they did know but still. We thanked the guy for moving it. Wouldn't even speak to us or anything. Very rude. I use this location Everytime we need uhaul which has been 5+ times in the last 6 years. Never have I had someone as rude as he was. He was even late getting there. Also they didn't record the most recent milage so we also got charge for 300 miles when we only went 100 miles. Overall this was the worst I've ever had with uhaul.

The trailer was not the size it was advertised to be and upon returning to switch out for the correct or larger size trailer the manager had to come in to correct the paper work for the switch and he was very rude, inpatient and completely unprofessional telling me he didn't have time for this today when I tried to explain the trailer was not the size it was advertised to be. He just rushed me into the sales area did a couple clicks on the computer just put thru a charge for the larger trailer which didn't match the listed prices and when I asked about that he just said it was because they one he had available had a ramp gate and at no time did he offer any kind of discount or apology for the error and me having to return the trailer to swap out or that I had to wait for him to arrive back at the store for the transaction to be completed. He was just in a rush and seemed totally inconvenienced by the entire process. When we went to hook up the larger trailer it did not take the 2” hitch that Uhaul recommends u having so I had to switch out to a smaller hitch on my truck. Then once I was done with the correct size trailer which I noticed had barb wire pieces in it when I went to put my lawn mower in it, the attendant was talking on his personal phone barely giving me any directional help while trying to back the trailer up to where they wanted it, between 2 other trailer. Then he continued on his phone while I took care of disconnecting the trailer and putting the jack down on the trailer and at no time offered any assistance. The manger of this location shows no interest in customer service and by his example neither do his employees. I will never be renting from this facility again

While this has nothing to do with the dropoff location, it was VERY POOR SERVICE to text and call me after I had picked up my trailer that I would have to drop it off 40 minutes away from where I requested dropoff. Next time I will not rent unless I know in advance I am not this inconvenienced and with an additional expense.

Drop Off was smooth .The guy working the desk was helpful and friendly. The customer service women that helped me move my drop off location were excellent . The first one was named LaWanda. She stayed on the line while she got transferred to three different marketing areas until o finally got helped. Mostly left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing . Not good
