My experience went very well and the service was excellent. I was a bit nervous about having to drive such a big truck, but the Manager kindly backed it out for me, gave me some tips, and reassured me. All went well, and I was very pleased with Uhaul.

WORST service I have ever received, absolutely DO NOT book a U-haul with these people. I booked a truck for my moving day several days in advance, and was the first one there the morning of. When I gave Angie my name to pick up the truck, she said that “the computer had a line through my name” which means she “didn’t have a truck for me.” I was obviously taken aback and didn’t really understand the situation - maybe because the explanation of a computerized “line trough my name” didn’t actually explain ANYTHING - and asked several more times what that was supposed to mean, considering I had a reservation number and everything, and I literally had to be out of my apartment that same day. I asked to speak with a manager to which Angie responded that she was the manager, and proceeded to tell me with an attitude that there wasn’t a truck for me, and that was all. “Call corporate,” she said. So I frustratedly called corporate U-haul in tears and eventually ended up having to drive 40 miles to Roanoke to pick up a truck, 40 miles back to Blacksburg, and 40 miles back to Roanoke to drop it off that evening. Not once did I receive an explanation, or even an APOLOGY, for the situation that Angie caused (she was the same one who booked my reservation in the first place). It was incredibly stressful and unprofessional, especially because moving is such a time-dependent activity. This was by far the worst service I have ever received, and I’ll be reaching out to far more people within U-haul and Text-a-Cab about Angie’s horrible customer service and outrageous excuses for a poorly run business. Their “office” is a literal shed and a run-down RV in the back of a parking lot; I don’t even understand how U-haul let’s these people affiliate with their company. I have never left a review like this, but I mean it. Stay away at all costs.

Location was great. I requested to pick up up the trailer in Blacksburg and requested a smaller trailer than the one that was provided so ended up paying for more space than I needed and had to drive an extra 2 hours. The actual service was outstanding however.

The location is fine and Timothy that worked there was very helpful. The problem is that UHAUL doesn't honor reservations and will change them at the last minute. I had reserved a 2 day in town use for a trailer that was cancelled by UHAUL less than 24 hours before pickup. AND the customer service person who called me and that I called back, never got me an explanation or called back after abruptly hanging up on me due to an "evacuate the building" requirement. The guy who helped me was awesome. I am so grateful for him. However, I reserved a 5x8 and I got a 6x12 (totally not his fault). The level I service I received regarding the organization of my rental was pretty messed up and stressed me out.

When you freeze amounts on someones credit card, don't keep it frozen once they pay the total. I rented for 2 days and my card shows almost $80 frozen on my card and the total of 118 taken off the card. So I can't use the rest of the money on my carduntil its released. That is not right!

I got charged a gas charge for gas when I brought it back. I took a picture of the gas gauge when I picked it up and I made sure it was over that when I brought it back. I have pictures of pick up and return. I was charged $15 for no reason, that's fraud and I will let everybody know about this uhaul location and how they defraud customers.

The truck bed was a little muddy when we got the trucks, so we had to clean it off as good as we could with a broom so we had didn’t get our couch and bedroom suit dirty, but everything else was great and had a great moving day thanks to you guys.

The Melrose location was very professional. I would use them again. However, I made my reservation at the 3001 Franklin Rd address. Everything says they were going to be open at 0800. No one ever showed up. Customer service was very helpful and gave me a larger truck at another location, but it wasted 1.5 hours of my morning while people were waiting on me to get there with the truck. Do not use Franklin Rd.

The staff was friendly and helpful, however, I was charged due to their own negligence and lack of attention to detail on the gas levels of the van I rented. The mileage lined-up with the amount of gas I used, but because I didn't take a picture of the fuel gauge, (which I should not have to do), they went off of their system as-opposed to the actual gas level in the truck when I first rented it. I unfortunately had no proof beyond mileage and my word, and I refuse to pay to fill up their vehicles beyond my usage. Because of this, I will unfortunately be using another rental service in the future so I can save more money for my needs.
