The first manager sold me a lock at the 66th street facility then cut my lock off that she sold me stating that it wasn’t an approved lock for the facility. Replaced my lock with one from u-haul and did not provide me a key for over 6 months . Never minded that I am paying for 24 hr access that was never provided and sent me to the sale twice . The move out was not by my doing - the agent named Josh at the 66th St store took it upon himself to cancel my contract. Not sure why he had the authority to do this but my reservation was paid, confirmed & move in was completed. When I called for the access & lock codes he went off on me sharing his extreme frustration & aggravation, said “ya know I can just cancel your reservation!” then hung op on me. When I called back he continued to forward my calls to the Corp call center until the store closed for the day. He has cost me a day of moving so far & a fine for being late moving out of my current unit. The next step is going to be an eviction - a permanent violation on my public record which would have a continuing negative impact on my ability to rent for the next 7 years. This employee has decided to take it upon himself to cancel a contract I have with Uhaul. I’ve done nothing wrong here & am being treated as though I skipped ahead of the line and took something not belonging to me. It’s an empty unit - it’s showing available in your system & 3 of your call center agents confirmed this. If a customer went against any of the policies of your contract there would be a penalty of some nature yet an employee chooses to not allow a paying customer the authority to move into a unit causing a trickle down effect of negative impacts and that seems to be ok. All I’m asking is to please be granted access to my unit so that I may move in today and not continue to incur fines for not moving out of my other facility. Thank youROBIN P. | Overall Experience

I called Wednesday and made reservation. I said I would be in Thursday or Friday. Friday the office was closed at 2pm when I arrived. I called the number posted and was told if I wanted to get into the unit I would have to drive to the office on 66th Street. When I arrived a young man that checked me in was belligerent and rude. I had to go to my car for information and he took another customer while I did! 3 minutes I was gone! Rude and he got smart mouthed after I said something! When I went back to the facility I couldn't find the unit because he hadn't given me a map! And the units are not marked on the doors! I called his office. No answer of course! I like to thing that I am pretty tech savvy; but, I am having such a hard time with both online services and phone app. I am unable to update and correct my account information. I would love to spend some time with someone who knows how to use your system to get me in the game. It is the second half of 2018 after all; the software shouldn't be so jacked up. The truck I was given had mechanical issues. Many service lights were on. The power steering was grinding and squeezing like crazy. The suspension was shot (I've rented many u-hauls before but never with such a harsh, rough ride. Every little bump would shake the truck and cargo like crazy) and I was constantly getting loud dinging warnings about radiator and engine. I was worried at any moment I would break down but luckily I wasn't going far. Still this wasn't my biggest issue. When I returned the truck I encountered the nastiest employee I've ever encountered at a place of business. When the truck was picked up I was told to return it by 7pm as we scheduled a 10 hour rental. I rushed so I could get back and time and ended up pulling in at 6:50. I got out and started heading to the office and when I got to the gate it started closing right as I was next to it and almost slammed into be. I figured maybe the guy just didn't see me but when I entered the office I was immediately greeted with hostility. I smiled and asked if there was anywhere in particular I should park the truck and he snapped â€œyeah your not supposed to be here, your supposed to bring it back at 8:30 tomorrow.â€ Shocked by his tone I stepped back and simply said ok. He ignored be for a few minutes then snapped again â€œI'll be out in a minute, I'm closed.â€ Not sure why he was so angry I debated just leaving but I was concerned he would add unwarranted charges out of spite. After several minutes he walked outside then right past me without saying a word. I started following him but when we got to the gate he went through and slammed it behind him practically in my face. And this point I just stood there as I figured that meant he didn't wasn't me to follow him. A few minutes latter he snapped again something about keys. His tone was so insulting that at this point I had it. I snapped back that he had just slammed the gate in my face and that I was sorry for causing him to do his job. I then asked if he could just charge my credit card so I could just leave and not continue to be insulted. He said he needed to check it in first. The rude behavior continued until he finally handed me a receipt. I understand he wanted to close up but if a business is open until 7 it's open until 7 and if you don't want trucks returned this late don't tell people to be back by 7. Still none of this warranted his nasty tone and aggressive behavior. I would never rent from this location again and probably would avoid U-Haul all together in the future. I have never been treated so badly at a place of business.richard L.
This facility is very nice and I've always had good customer service, but smoking is allowed inside the office, and I find it difficult to breathe, particularly when the smoke is heavy. I don't know if they are smoking "at" the exit door, which does nothing to keep the smoke outside, but I can tell you, it is not restricted to the outdoors. It was so bad on a previous visit that I vowed not to go back, but they are so close to my house.Kandy B.

Customer service was great, I love this location. Very fast & easy process. However somehow uhaul processing payment is not good. I was "predicted" to be charged $45.68 total and dropped it back off same day, they processed it next day and total was $44.87 the previous charge for predicted amount was switched to $44.87 and switched to completed. I was happy it was done and all of sudden I get second charge for $44.87 and it's pending. So now I've been charged twice and have wait until it completes or have to go in store and ask for refund for the mistake. Kinda frustrating, espically when you don't have much money and use uhaul a lot, I rent a truck 1-2 every couple months and have 2 storage units.Alexis S.
