When a customer has a PREVENTABLE breakdown. Comp their horrible experience. Dont run your store like the homeless population that lives near it. Take pride in your store and its staff. Do not run it as your personal home/daycare. It is a business. Treat it as such. I shouldn't see you interacting with your kid you picked up from school while dealing with customers. For the second time in a row using Uhaul we did not have an appliance dolly available when we came to pick up our rental truck and yes it was included in our reservation This was very frustrating and we had to ask several times to get a credit due to the equipment not be ready when we came to pick up our truck. Finally, we did receive the dolly and we were not charged for it. The way it should have been handled is they should have apologized for not having it ready when we arrived and advised we would not be charged, without us having to ask repeatedly for a credit or something for our trouble and hassle. Ultimately, they made it right, which is why I would recommend them.Jeffrey G.

The sign at drop off instructed to stay in vehicle and a representative would come out to assist. After almost 5 minute wait, with no other customers around, I walked into the store and 3 people were sitting looking at computers. I guess they aren't used to people following instructions. This location at 11550 S. Memorial Parkway is not a Uhaul location, it is a convinience store, which was pretty inconvenient since I live 20mi away on the other side of town. There are actual Uhaul locations much closer to where I live. After driving to the other side of the county, this Indian woman who spoke broken English refused to take the trailer. I then drove over 10mi out of my way to an actual Uhaul location, at Putman Dr., where they took the trailer. The kid there was pretty friendly and accommodating. There is a Uhaul center at Sparkman Dr. which is about 10mi from my home, which would be a much better option to keep me from having to drive all over God's green earth dragging a trailer all over town! This really isn't a review against the specific location where I was forced to rent my truck. They were fine but yes, that's right - forced. I get a call the day before I am to pick up the truck from this location to notify me I am getting a truck from them. Uh no, I say there must be some mistake I am renting from the location in Madison. I am looking at my confirmation at confirm I didn't mess up, nope my confirmation is for Madison. Well, I have to call corporate to straighten that out. After calling corporate, and being place on hold for 30 minutes I finally talk to someone who says yes the place I wanted to rent from doesn't have my truck and I have to rent from this other very inconvenient location. Fine, well uhaul will compensate me with the mileage difference, right? No, they won't. Thanks a lot uhaul. I will remember I have other moving rental options in the future.TIMOTHY C.

The entire process is confusing. I went with a recommended moving company who arrived to pick up and deliver my U-boxes only to be told that his truck, which meets the requirements in Tennessee did not meet requirements to haul the U-boxes in Alabama. The manager was rude, and didn't offer to assist in finding other locations where he might reserve a truck to deliver the U-boxes, and when he returned with the truck, there seemed to be no consideration or concern for the movers' time nor our time as the morning moved into the afternoon. In addition, I was unable to call directly into the location, and never received a promised call back from the location after speaking with the call center where calls were being taken. Finally, I canceled movers and U-boxes, or tried to, returned the one U-box empty and have not received a confirmation of the returned U-Box or when I will get reimbersed. There was little coordination between U-Haul moving help and the U-Haul U-boxes. I receive confusing emails from U-Haul about my order, and when I called in to clarify yesterday, for whatever reason, while in the morning they could see my order for both U-boxes and movers, even though they could not send me a confirmation that they could, in the afternoon, the two orders were separate. I was very appreciative of Katrice Irons who was the most respectful and considerate customer service representative. She was patient and helped me verify information. She took the time to see what my concerns were and reassured me that it was all set up correctly. I was also appreciative of the two call center representatives with whom I spoke. Both very sympathetic and nice. Chris, I recall was one of them. Still, in the end, I'm not sure if the order has been canceled because now when I go to U-haul and look for my order for the U-boxes, nothing appears. It is as if I never existed. I'm happy to say that the uhaul moving help did send me a confirmation of cancellation. Anyway, subcontracting is something that apparently is difficult to coordinate and I can tell you that I would not recommend U-Haul U-boxes or general moving assistance other than just renting a truck to anyone. You need to get the different areas together so that the customer experience is seamless, or at least close to that.Duvalle D.
I've had the worst experience at this location two times in a row! The assistant manager Morgan is rude and racist. Ryan the employee is just plain out disrespectful to customers. Especially the ones he feel like he can bully. About a week in a half ago I went into get items purchased on line and pick my truck up from them after calling to verify everything was there. They told me I had to go get the items from other location that the reservation was originally reserved at. I had no idea the truck was the only thing switched to their location not my 3/4 items I purchased as well. Again, I called to verify but obviously when I called the day before the employee that verified my reservation was good to go had no idea that Morgan placed a note the day of stating I needed to pick my items up from a different location and only the truck from them. By this time The other location is closed and I was moving in less than 5 hours. I asked Morgan if I can get the items from them since I see they had the items on the shelf? She rudely said NO not unless you repay for them. I politely asked if she would refund what I already paid. She rude said No. I said that's bull crap and told her not to worry about the items, just give me the truck. She told me to get out because I was being rude and not gone talk to her using vulgar language. No one time did I use vulgar language towards Morgan. I simply said forget the items and give me my truck. She again told me to get out because I'm not going to dishonor them In there. I said ma'am what is wrong. I told you my furstration was I thought everything was here because I called to verify it. All I want it my truck at this point. She said no because you are straight up disrespectful. I asked her why do she keeps saying that and asked does she expect me to be because the color of my skin well I'm not and give me my truck I move in a few hours. Morgan then storms out the door saying she's not helping me and I can leave for the 3rd time. Then we have Mr. Ryan around the counter telling me I can get my d*** a** out before he call the call the f**k**g cops to put me out. I said sir You're crazy and I'm not going no where because y'all are rude and racist and how dare you use that language towards me as the customer and all the customers in the store? He said again, rudely get out. I stood and waited as the manager Tammy came. She asked what was going on, I told her and said ma'am give my truck please. To be honest not one time did she apologize for the mis information I received or how her employees acted. Tammy is really not any better if she's over them. Morgan and Ryan are the rudest employees at the uhaul company and should be fired if you ask me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they talk to me like this I just wonder how many others. I wouldn't have no one like those 2 belatedly rude individuals who don't understand customer service working for me or any other company. I pray a reservation is never switched to this location again or I will never use Uhaul again. P.S. I still want my refund of the item I never received or picked up at other location. I reserved a location near my house to avoid paying a lot of mileage cost. I showed up to pick up my truck and was sent 30 minutes across town to pick up my truck at a different location. I dropped off the auto trailer Sunday, the guy told me that was it and I could go on. By Tuesday when I dropped off the truck, the auto trailer appeared as actively rented by me in my Uhaul account. At least the person who interacted with me on Sunday did not checked in the equipment and the person who interacted with me on Tuesday was able to help me solve the issue. I Validated online and upon pickup I paid and they said when I returned the trailer that Every thing was completed so only would take a couple of minutes return it. But upon return I could not-get anyone to decouple the trailer. After asking for help 3 times and 30 minutes later the young man told me to pull around the building which I tried but had to stop due to another vehicle blocking the path. The the man started cussing me as he came up to my truck. I got out of my truck to ask why he was cussing me and he said that he would get my Gxx D#### trailer unhitched! I told him to quit cussing me and got back into the truck and left when he decoupled it. I have never seen customer service support like this and will not return in the future and will not recommend this location in the future.cheyney B.
The employees are fantastic. The trucks are great. The lot is simply not big enough for the clientele pool coming and going, and half the storage units (highest prices for the capacity compared to other storage locations) are blocked by unused trailers or other equipment. Tammy your GM needs to learn how to smile, be happy at her job, be aware of a new customer that reserve a truck instead of sniffing donuts from someone else....,no lie or joke....had to walk around inside and out to find someone at 9:00 am.....truck was not ready.....finally paid and I got confused on which dolly we may need....she brought an appliance dolly from back and was not too happy when I told her my husband said we did not need that particular one....he is a retired veteran....left to pay for our moving help....told Tammy we are running behind schedule now and left at 4:30 am....returned from paying for movers....truck was still not ready and in the main parking lot.....she left slowly and evidently didn't care......no thank you or have a nice day plus was not told about the 100$ deposit so picking up the car hauler was a fail for us due to $$$$. Tammy acted like I committed a crime for that....,I was very disappointed and had expected to bring my vehicle back.....only her and another guy was there and I even had to ask him to help me with his wheelchair.....he is twice my size.... I need a cup of coffee in the morning but I guess she need a pitcher of coffee......nonetheless I will be needing UHaul for more storage moves.....having to rethink things now unfortunately of how we were treated......FELECIA S.

Took 45 minutes to get trailer paperwork done because of uhaul computer issue. After hooking everything up an employee started messing with the hitch. Unbeknownst to us he looses the hitch bolt which caused the trailer to come loose from the truck while in motion the n the main road. We managed to keep everything under control without damage to our truck or someone else's car. Hours later when we unhooked the trailer my husband sliced his finger open on a piece of sharp metal on the trailer from the detachment episode. He should have gotten stitches but didn't want to be in anER during a pandemic. Uhaul facility is too small for volume. Too many customers for number of employees that lead to chaos. Will do everything I can to avoid this location again.Benjamin M.

My ratings are based on these facts during the Covid-19 pandemic. No face coverings were worn inside by two (2) of three (3) employees. The third employee was improperly/inadequately wearing a partial face covering. All of this in disregard of the sign posted on the entrance door that stated that all employees and customers must wear face coverings.KATHLEEN O.
Wear mask in store! It's the LAW!! You're not only breaking the law but also putting everyone who comes into the store and yourself at risk. There were NO PRECAUTIONS for COVID in place. I had reserved my vehicle the day before just to go there and they weren't able to find the keys to the truck. I waited 45 minutes to be given keys to this not maintained in town rental to do an out of town job. The tires were low, the vehicle had trash in it , let alone all the dirt everywhere. When I asked how they clean the vehicles the person rudely told me: we clean them daily. NOT after each person who uses it. I was told a cleaning person would come to clean up however NOBODY showed up. I went inside the store to ask for wipes so I can wipe down and be on my way. At this point I had waited for 2 hours to leave. They had me waiting for a non existing cleaning person , so that I would give up and leave since there's no cleaning person. They were in no rush to send me off as they were busy doing other stuff. I have never seen this kind of customer service anywhere. It was very unprofessional. I wasn't assured that the vehicle was safe as the person behind the counter pumped air in the tires. They didn't know if the tire was flat or just low. There was no cleaner to be found as the same person who pumped air in my tires also came to the truck to pick up the trash and wipe down driver area. I felt very uncomfortable being in the unsanitized truck. It should be sanitized by a PROFESSIONAL company given there is a GLOBAL PANDEMIC going around the virus is KILLING PEOPLE. Let alone the lies that they rent that truck â€œdailyâ€. The vehicle obviously hasn't been touched for a while. Hire some professionals who do their job properly and have respect for the money they earn. These people who work at this location are embarrassing to the human race. I will never use this location again, and maybe not even Uhaul as I question your judgement on how you run such a business location. Prior to this I have rented many trucks from uhaul in different states and never had any problems. I will let everyone I know to not go to this location.begum M.

Vehicle blower fan for ac unit does not work on high. Unit on empty with 6 miles to left in tank to get gas. Told I would receive a 32.50 credit for bringing it back at a quarter of a tank. Due to unknown gas mileage I had to fill the tank. When returning the truck it had over a half a tank. No refund for the extra 10 plus gallons of fuel. Also upon return when trying to discuss the vehicle with the attendants, a young male attendant stated the fuel issue was due to someone dropping it of empty. If I read the contract right you charge $ 3 dollars an a gallon to fill the tank when returned empty. So it seems you make profit by charging someone for leaving the truck empty then pass on the burden of filling to the next customer. Then profit further by keeping extra gas left by returning customer. Poor business practice and would seem somewhat criminal to me.MICHAEL W.

Staff was exceptional and the location (office, lots, and storage area) were well organized, clean, and maintained. One downside is that access is limited to only times when staff is available due to a key sign-out procedure; this impacted my plans greatly when I planned to remove items from storage at 5PM on 25 May to place in my new home (closed on it 26 May). On 22 May I personally spoke with the site manager and confirmed that the site would be open for regular hours on 25 May. Unfortunately in the morning of 25 May the site manager decided to close the site early that day, thereby constraining me to waiting until the weekend to retrieve and use my stored household goods - because I stored a lot, I could not clear out the storage into a trailer, move the trailer, unload the trailer at home, and return the trailer during a 24-hour period until the weekend. This unpublished impromptu closure negatively affected my family.
