Not a complaint against the location but U-Haul. The truck was reserved and one location but when we got there it was not available. We were sent to another location and they didn't have any trucks. Finally the employee at the store called another store where he confirmed they had a truck and told us to go there. Maybe you should charge more than $55 to keep an extra day and people would return trucks in time.Amanda D.

Justin and Ryan were fast, efficient and friendly. I only need the unit for about 3 months and the 1st month was free! The unit was clean, cool and plenty of space, my gosh its big and its a 10' x 10' x 10'. They even loaned my a dolly for 30 minutes today when i was dropping off some boxes. Im bringing more stuff this weekend. 😆 Would definately store here again and highly recommend.Laura C.

The billing is quite hard to understand. Multiple receipts were sent to me via email and seemed to have a lot of unnecessary information to me as the customer which made it very confusing. We used the cargo van for our survey crew/engineering firm out of Huntsville. Each week when I had to call back to extend our use, I spent over an hour trying to get someone to help me. Your Traffic/scheduling dept. was TERRIBLE! I got put on hold 3 times in the duration of over an hour and laughed at by one of your employees because I asked her not to put me on hold AGAIN, it infuriated me! Very unprofessional to say the least. Different days, I did speak to 2 ladies that were very helpful and kind. Christina and Nadine. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the names of the other 3 when they answered the phone and quickly LEFT ME ON HOLD. Lastly, when our crew chief got there to pick up the van on the first day, they made him give them HIS CC, when I had already given their our Company CC. So for the first go around, they charged him and then the last part of the rental it looked like it was all charged to the company CC. I guess we won't know for sure what happened until we get our CC statement. They mentioned crediting back on a CC...money going in and out of accounts is not what we wanted. It should have been on 1 CC to begin and end with. It looked like on ALL those receipts they send me (5 diff. ones) that they were charging each week. I don't understand why a big company like U-Haul can't charge at the END of service rather than multiple times throughout. Especially with it up in the air whether we needed a monthly charge as to daily/week to week. As to the vehicle itself and the location from which we got it from, condition of the vehicle and service there was all good.Gary P.
Used this facility while moving my daughter and took this facility due to U-Haul special giving a free month. Facility was horrible! It stunk like dead animals inside the building and also inside the storage unit. Told manager and Al they did was come out and take pictures of fluid coming out of the adjoining unit. The hours of attention were great and the location is quite convenient with a gas station practically across the street. The young lady who worked there was very attentive and pleasant. The truck was ready to go. The area surrounding the location was not the best but I was assured that the parking lot had surveillance cameras. The nit had a leak near the rear tires. When we returned with a full truck to onload, there was big puffs of smoke coming out from both rear wheel wells. After smoke emitted for about 10 minutes, the fire department was called. By the time the FD arrived, the smoke had subsided. They suggested that I report it to U-Haul, which I did. When the technician arrived the next morning, he said that some fluid was leaking from both sides of the wheels, which caused the smoke. The unit was recommended for repair. Hopefully it has been repaired so the next user would have a less harrowing experience.Margaret N.

The general manager was absolutely kind, professional, knowledgeable and patient. His staff also followed his lead. Everyone was very prompt, pleasant and welcoming. The staff at this location made my process for moving in, getting a storage unit, renting a truck, and much more, so easy to do, because of their help. My belongings in the storage unit were safe and secure and it felt like it. My experience was great and I am Grateful. Thank you!!Chisa R.

The staff was very friendly and gave me a highlighted map of how to get to my assigned storage unit. What was odd was the climate controlled storage unit I ordered online was not avaiable. I didn't find this out until I got to the drop off location with my belongings in the moving truck. I had to order another unit that was not climate controlled and was more expensive than the unit I reserved online. This was fine since the unit I ended up with was big enough to hold my stuff. I would suggest for the next customer that the u- haul website information be updated to show accurate information on what storage unit is available. There also needs to be an option to leave a voice mail message. I called the storage unit and just got an automated voice talking after hours. I do like that the staff helps customers during opening hours, that the location has an elevator and carts avaiable for customers to load items to bring to their storage units. The storage unit has two levels and there are stairs to use in case of a fire. The location has security cameras, is surrounded by a fence and customers get in and out by sliding a plastic card through the card holder and waiting for the gate to open. This is a great location to use since the drop off area for the moving truck is next door to the storage unit for customers belongings. Be aware you will be charged a convince fee for turning the moving truck in early. You are also supposed to get twenty five dollars off your move for cleaning out the truck by sweeping and returing the equipment you rented in the truck although this is debatable since I didn't get the discount after telling staff I cleaned the truck and returned equipment items in the truck. I would suggest to tell customers getting this discount is subjective since its up to U-haul staff to decide how clean the truck is when you drop it off.shelby G.

My fee for truck and dolly was 104.43. The next day Uhaul at University and Putman Dr. charge my card again at 1030am next day. I was standing there when the other service said that Jason sold me moving supplies. I have disputed the these charges of 155.23 with my bank. And i will continuing to do if necessary. When I returned the truck I was .2 miles over my limit and got charged, even though uhaul sent me 20 miles out of the way to get it. It was $.08 but still feels like a scam. It's not the amount, it's the fact they forced this to happen. I will never use uhaul again.Douglas R.

Would suggest that ALL pre existing damage be identified & proper cleaning be accomplished so that upon receipt of vehicle renter not be left wondering if they'll be held responsible or dread returning equipment & facing questions for condition not of their making. Trailer was damaged and not safe to use. Employee insinuated it was my fault. Never apologized or offered me a refund. Acted like I was a bother because I asked for a receipt stating I would not be responsible. Literally blocked me in so I couldn't move my car and locked me in the store!!! Was first told to drive over the curb and when I expressed concern about damaging the truck I was assigned a different unit up the street. Was not able to get in the gate, had to make another trip back to the office. Finally got in the gate and the unit was rusted shut. Another trip to the doc is and almost two hours in was promised someone would come and change the latch and it would be quick. Waited another 25 minutes and wound up renting a unit at LifeStorage. I made another trip back to the office to move out. The employees were so rude (not just on this trip, the whole time). Will not do business with uhaul storage ever again. The storage facility was dark and there were constantly shady looking people walking into the facility with suitcases and other personal belongings and never walking back out. The facility does have a tall fence surrounding it so you he can assume they weren’t just passing through. The area where my unit was was down a hall with no lights in it or the unit itself. The hall was short and there was only one way in or out and the door opened toward that direction and would not open fully so you had to close the door every time you walked by to get something else to put in. We rented for less than two months and mice had infested the unit. Mouse bait was placed in the unit. Lots of feces and a dead mouse was found on our couch. The couch had holes in it due to mice. The property is dirty with lots of trash in the parking lot. Its in a sketch part of town. The bathroom smelled like urine from the floors and no soap in the dispenser. This U-haul facility was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the reservation was originally made at the U-haul storage on Spartman drive and it was given to someone else that morning and they didn’t have any other units available. First of all, there are not enough people working at the University Dr. store to meet the volume of customers. Secondly, I have never heard of any storage unit that requires the customer to purchase the storage company's lock, so I did not appreciate being threatened with having the lock I purchased for the unit I was provided cut off if I didn't purchase a U-Haul circular lock. It's bad enough that U-Haul has some of the highest rates for storage units that I have ever seen, but to feel pressured to spend money on the company's circular lock is especially horrible. It didn't help that I saw other units that did not have the U-Haul circular locks on them. There was also some confusion about the terms of the one month's worth of free storage. I was told by two U-Haul representatives that I qualified for a month's worth of free storage with no stipulations added or explained in either case. If the unit was not offered for free, I would never had bothered using a U-Haul storage unit. Finally, as I answered in the introductory questionnaire, no, I would not ever recommend a U-Haul storage facility to anyone.Andrea G. | First Impressions
On the day we came to empty our storage units we found rat feces all over our belongs and that our household items were destroyed. As we worked to go through our packages we found 4 rats in our boxes and amongst our belongings. When we asked for assistance we were rudely dismissed and told "file a claim" and given a pamphlet. When we called the number to customer service we were on hold for over two hours and eventually ended the call once our movers loaded all of the items we could take home. Thankfully we didn't take any rats to our new home, however we lost a lot of items we needed and ended up spending much more money to replace items i.e. towels, dishes, sheets, a loveseat and a recliner, wires for our surround sound system which had been eaten through. Staff was exceptional and the location (office, lots, and storage area) were well organized, clean, and maintained. One downside is that access is limited to only times when staff is available due to a key sign-out procedure; this impacted my plans greatly when I planned to remove items from storage at 5PM on 25 May to place in my new home (closed on it 26 May). On 22 May I personally spoke with the site manager and confirmed that the site would be open for regular hours on 25 May. Unfortunately in the morning of 25 May the site manager decided to close the site early that day, thereby constraining me to waiting until the weekend to retrieve and use my stored household goods - because I stored a lot, I could not clear out the storage into a trailer, move the trailer, unload the trailer at home, and return the trailer during a 24-hour period until the weekend. This unpublished impromptu closure negatively affected my family. Please decide upon and post / publicize non-standard hours at least two weeks in advance in order to facilitate customer planning.John Z. | Overall Experience
