Neither the app nor the website would work to check my truck in, it had to be manually checked in. Didn't have the truck that I had reserved, had to give me a new one, didn't have the proper trailer dolly for it, spent like 2 hours trying to find a trailer with lights that worked, dolly ended up causing damage to my vehicle. Filed a claim with RepWest and they are very unhelpful.Jackson H.
The truck smelled like someone smoked in it. The guy had just returned it soI watchedand waited there. They put airin the tiresbit nevercleaned the inside. So yes it was dirty but nottereiblh dirty just enough to make a 2 hr trip to acksonville uncomfortable. The truck has over 92,000 miles on it and the seat was uncomfortable too. One wheel bearing ran noticeably warmer than the other bearings. No failure, no serious concerns, but this one item could have been better. U-Haul has vastly improved since the last time I used them. The vehicle transport was pulled out with a flat tire. If a tire is flat just sitting around IT IS DAMAGED. The Uhaul person thought the tire just needed air when it actually had a piece of metal in it. It was a good think my husband was outside observing. More training needed there. The Uhaul person was very polite and accommodating but they should have known this very obvious clue that the tire didn't just need air.Virginia R.

Wasn't provided with a dolly even though it was the last thing the lady asked me about. Got all the way to my apartment only to realize that it wasn't there. I shouldn't have to double check behind someone, especially when they inform me of everything I've purchased and tell me its in the truck. I called and asked customer service to take it off. Got to my drop off location on Tuesday only to find out I was still being charged for dolly. They had to report it as me returning it just to keep me from being charged for a lost/stolen dolly. Mileage wasn't correct. I was unable to check at pick up due to low fuel milage being on. Didn't think much of it. I can check it once I get gas, right? nope! I was no longer able to log back in to the link to double check the miles for accuracy. I remebered the first two #s were 67 so I figured it must be right. I got to drop off on tuesday only to be informed that I supposedly went 83 miles over, which is impossible. It's 111 miles from my apartment to home and I went about 10-12 miles extra to pick up truck and only drove it one way, might I add. It's not accurate at all and I was floored when I was told I drove 243 miles. I also had to go out of my way to get the uhaul because, despite having it booked for a month, I found out two days prior (because I called, no one informed me) that the original pick up location was no longer affiliated with uhaul. I thought I was supposed to get extra miles for having to go 20 min out since everything near me was booked now. I wouldn't have needed extra miles anyway but since I was taken advantage of, that would've kept me from being charged an extra $33 for supposedly going 83 miles over. I called to dispute this milage only to be told they would notify the manager of this pick up location to call me. Its been over 24 hours and I haven't heard from them. They did however, take the dolly off. The only thing I was happy with was the fact that they did upgrade the truck without extra charge due to Uhaul not informing me sooner about the original pick up location and no place had 10ft trucks available any more. The girl at counter was very sweet and everything was clean. These are the only reasons I even rated my experience as high as i did. My overall experience has not been good and I feel taken advantage of.CAITLYN S.

I reserved a unit online. When I arrived I was informed I needed to add additional names and phone numbers to my reservation per unsullied policy. I didn’t have a name so the person checking me in said well that’s fine we can just cancel this reservation then. I kept telling him I don’t have anyone and he said come on everyone has someone. A mom a dad? My parents are deceased and I have no siblings. I do not have anyone that I can put down: your website needs to be clear that you need this info. I ended up making up a name and phone number just to get this guy to back off. It literally almost left me stranded with no where to store my stuff. The truck cabin had empty beverage containers behind the seats. After we loaded our truck we went back to install the car trailer we had reserved a week before. This uhaul location would not assist us in strapping in the car even though we did not know what to do. After driving the truck with the car trailer for 5 miles we noticed the trailer had a low tire. We went to various gas stations to use an air pump but unfortunately they were all out of service so we decided to go to Uhaul. Since our original uhaul location had not treated us in a pleasant manner and obviously did not check their equipment out properly before renting it out we found another close by uhaul location. At this location we filled the tire with air only to discover the top of the tire where the treads are seemed to be seperating from the side of the tire. This situation would have been disastrous on a high speed road such as I95. Our guardian angel was looking out for us. The new uhaul location switched out our car trailer and assisted us placing and securing the car on the trailer.PHILLIP C.

Alex helped me today and also a day last week. Both times he was very very courteous, informative, and it's always nice to see a smiling face when you are doing one of the worst things ever and that is moving!!! I have been down there for a storage unit , trucks , vans and at this point I have lost count how much I have rented at this location. Alex must be a great boss because all the employees are smiling and very polite and extremely efficient. I have seen Alex come in with a big package of water I assume he gives out to employees. He even offered me one. He is also on the move. Last week when I was there he was guiding an 18 wheeler truck backing up to unload equipment for the store and then quickly comes over and helps me by pulling out the ramp of the back of the truck and puts it up on the docking area so I could unload my things. The employees are FABULOUS, however, they are overworked. They need to have 2 lines: One for buying small items, propane, and inquiries, and one for rentals. This location is NOTORIOUS for terrible lines, and ALL my friends avoid it due to the long wait times - no matter what they are buying or renting. You really need to send in a "secret shopper" to see how bad it is. Again - GREAT - TOP NOTCH employees. They are just not supported!Janie D.

The check in area needs improvement. There is no mechanism to determine who has appointment and who simply needs keys because they checked in online. Thus, there are people in line who can be helped fairly quickly and others who have appointments and a few that do not have appointments. This is frustrating because the wait can be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.LAURA H.
Excellent experience. The only odd comment would be do you have someone actually living in their storage unit? His unit was close to mine, and he was always plugging in his radio or generator into the hallway wall socket. He had chairs set up inside his unit so he could eat his dinner, and had female friends over who would bang on the outside door, calling his name, and he would open the door to let them in. They sat in his unit with him late at night. Every morning, his unit would be locked and he would be gone. But every evening, his bike would be in the hallway, along with chairs and boxes. His appliances were plugged in and he was eating dinner and listening to music most evenings we were there. Maybe he’s the night manager? If he is, a sign posted on his unit or nearby would be helpful so we aren’t worried what he is doing could be viewed as suspicious or illegal. We had ordered moving blankets and they were not in the truck at pick up. We realized they were not in the truck after it was too late to turn around. We had to purchase the moving blankets from our storage facility. We had to pay $225 for the blankets vs the $20 uhaul rental fee.Hilary H.

Employee Julian Hickey was very unhelpful, rude, and this location is losing much business due to this one individual. Will be using another location from now on due to his horrible unhelpful attitude. After waiting 40 minutes for Julian to finish with another customer (which multiple times asked Julian to help others first and to help clear out the many angry customers in the waiting area) to simply pick up a trailer I had already checked in online for, he was a horrible person to deal with in the process from the word go. So disappointed with our experience in Orlando. We could never get a hold of anyone at the specific location. They did not have a direct number!! We had questions and did not get answers. So frustrating . When we got to the location to pack our box, the service was horrible! We had to wait at least a half hour to even have someone tell us where to go. Someone eventually brought us our furniture packing blankets. When we were done packing our box there was NO ONE around to help us know what to do next. We weren't sure if we needed to check out before we leftâ€¦waited for an hour, finally went back to the office to talk to someone. Locations NEED to have direct numbers for customers!!! Our box arrived on time in Madison WI. The local call center in Madison was easy to contact, I talked to Heather who was very helpful. She checked to make sure our box was there, and changed our time to unpack our box and assured me that it was fine and would call back if something comes up. Unpacking the box in Madison was frustrating as well. The box was set up so the door was on the inside, should have been turned the other way to make it easier to load our vehicles . Someone came in about 15 minutes later and offered to change around the box but by that time we were almost done. Customer service was very slow, my husband waited at least 20 minutes to check out. Never again....damage goods within one of my storages. I was storing a $10,000 snap-on toolbox among other tools and stuff that was in my garage before relocating...Due to covid 19, I became behind in payments. As we all know once payment is behind they cut your lock off and lock you out of your storage till you are up to date...My problem wasn't being locked out.....My problem started when I paid off my bill and decided to leave. When they cut my lock off, they went into the storage unit and cut across my toolbox with the cut off wheel they used to cut the lock. The other Dewalt stackable storage containers I had in there had signed of attempted forced entry.....never again will I use Uhaul storage.....customer support was great during the storage process and this situation is probably isolated to the individual location....but I refuse to ever go through that again. The current crew is excellent. I did complain about one staff person not wearing his mask and whistling as he walked towards me but I returned weekly for 3 weeks and never saw him again so maybe he's gone. In the Covid era it's never to safe. He wasn't speaking to me so he had no reason to whistle. I spoke to him under my mask but he never responded so I don't know his motives.
