A complete cleaning of the truck would have been nice. The truck was brand new, but the windshield look as if no one ever cleaned it. As soon as I turned into direct sun light I was blinded by a white dirty haze on the glass. Not a good first impression.Manuel R.

This was the worst experience. First my pick up location was changed after I was at the location. Without my knowledge or approval. Because the people at the first location in Orlando had no idea what to do Then I had to leave the vehicle unattended while I went across town to repeat the whole checkout process. This added hours to my rental. I believe the problem here lies with Uhaul and it's disorganized ways. This is an unacceptable way of doing business.fernando G.

You need to have more people in the office attending to customers. There was only one employee working at the check-in counter. I had to wait for 20 minutes for my appointment which was for 10;30 AM. There were three waiting. I wouldn't mind waiting but during this time of the covid, it is scary for me because being older, this is my first time out in an enclosed building with strangers. Not much hand sanitizer in the bottle which was on the counter. I didn't see any wipe down of counter, etc. after each served customer.Florence C.

I had pre-ordered the truck but had to wait to pick up a key. Not a big deal but it made me 10 minutes late for the movers I had scheduled. I rented a truck several days before my trip. There wasn't a 15' near my location, I had to travel 18 miles to pick the truck that was available. Fine. I get there an hour late and my truck was rented off to someone else. Wtf? First, I was not told this information, secondly, I did not receive a courtesy call letting me know I was about to lose my rental. And lastly and most important, we had filled the truck more gas than we needed to and when I told this to whoever was attending me and when I asked if we will be reimbursed for the extra gas he said no.. The truck smelled like some sat and smoked cigarettes in it all day for a week. The doors had grime all over them as well as the dash board. Really gross. We had to turn the air off and ride with the windows down the entire time the smell was so horrible. As the wind from outside came in it made ashes fly around the cabin. I will say at least they had the truck available on short notice so I was grateful for that.Sierra H.
The equipment was clean visibly but smelled strongly of cat pee in the drivers area and cigarette smoke in the back. I was very concerned that none of the employees were wearing masks or practicing and social distancing. I felt like my health was at risk and I saw no sanitizing process of any kind. Make sure you have hand trucks available especially when I pay for one and they said they had them. Manager sent me 7 miles out of my was to pick one up. They seemed very rushed and the employees weren't getting along. It took me an hour and a half between the 2 locations to get the truck. The location I ended up getting my truck at was great. However, I originally reserved the truck at another location. When I got there, he didn't have any in stock and sent me to another nearby location assuming I could just get a truck there. When I arrived they didn't have any trucks available but at least looked up my reservation. Turns out UHaul took it upon themselves to not only change the location of my rental, but they also changed the date! I had driven from Tampa to Orlando for this truck and UHaul never called me to tell me of these reservation changes! I'm so grateful to the Orange Ave location for all their help but UHaul really messed up big time.Angelica W.

I realized after getting to my moving destination that there was not an appliance dolly I the truck, and that I had not been given a mattress bag. Upon return of the equipment, not one of the 5-6 gentlemen under the awning/return area greeted me when I pulled in nor did they let me know that the only person working in the equipment yard to hook up a trailer to another customer's vehicle would be the same person to check in my equipment, so for a few minutes, it seemed like the casual conversation of the group was more important than greeting the customer or advising that someone will be with you in a moment. Overall, it was a good experience. Just not a memorable one where the employee looks you in the eye and says, "Welcome back!" as if they had an awareness of the customer and appreciated their business, which makes their jobs possible and ultimately, pays their salaries and the shareholders.Ronald R.

I changed vehicles since my last rental, and my old bar and hitch were obstructed by the spare tire mounted on the back. He immediately showed me the the right one with the best angle for the job. All personnel that I spoke with were extremely helpful. The problem I encountered was the online check-in. The truck was not at the location I was told to go to and then I had to go to another location for pick up. The online program showed that I checked in and picked up a truck at the first location. The online check in system is not user friendly or helpful when there is trouble. The personnel was extremely helpful and helped to ease the stress associated with the online system. At pickup, the box was loaded on the trailer backwards. I would have been unable to open the door to unload. I received 10 furniture pads that I didnt use, but on arrival I was told there were 24 pads. Still only 10 in the box. Maybe dont put pads in the box unless customer asks. The current crew is excellent. I did complain about one staff person not wearing his mask and whistling as he walked towards me but I returned weekly for 3 weeks and never saw him again so maybe he's gone. I got there before closing was told that I couldn’t unload my U-Haul truck. Then i was promised someone would be there at 630 AM the next morning so I could unload my truck. The lady told me sje couldn’t find my reservation, so she took the time i could’ve been unloading the truck to find the reservation. She then tried to create a new one and told me I wasn’t charged until i showed her my banking app that showed the charge. A guy from the back (thank god) came out and had to show her how to use the software to find my reservation. He found where i had been charged and everything. Next morning i get there thinking all i needed was the black card she gave me, come to find out there’s a whole check in and check out process that she didn’t even tell me about. On top of all of that i was charged for a lock for the door. Then I speak with a new lady who’l told me we had access to our until until 10pm and that there shouldn’t have been an issue with us unloading the truck the night before when we got there before 7pm. Then I was told I couldn’t leave the U-Haul truck I rented from another LOCAL U-Haul Location because i didn’t get a certain type of U-Haul truck reservation and was told “i should’ve been told this when I made my reservation”.
