The location was confusing. There is no clear signage for pick-ups or returns. All the parking spaces were facing the street indicating outbound traffic pattern but there was no where else to enter. We finally just pulled in and went inside. The checkout experience was quick and staff was great. But the location needs some signage help or better direction. Was charged for gas and I put gas back to where the gage was it wasn't full and I was charged 24 dollars for 7 gallons did mobile pick up and still waited almost a hour even after showing my phone with the pick up code for keys purchased a dolly and wasn't given one at pick up had to drive all the way back for one I paid for a utility dolly only got a regular oneKarrie S.

Make sure what a customer request (such as equipment) be on the truck when making reservations. I had to come back for an equipment. Also, turning signals didn't work on the truck. One stuff member saw it didn't work. The other denied it did. So I'm I lying? Seriously? However, despite the mishaps. That female staff member (sorry, I don't know her name) was professional. And also it was an older staff member who took care of me. He was the one that saw I had no turning signal. They both made sure I got what I needed. Waiting for help, even though I had online ordered, for attendant for 20 minutes. He left to help another customer with propane tanks even though I was already there. The people who work there take their sweet time, were not ready to hook up the equipment, had to wait for attendant to come outside to scan the equipment even after the ticket was ready. On return they made me wait, then had to move under the canopy, to wait to be unhooked. If you say i can check out the truck on my phone, don't require me to pre check in on your website before hand without telling me. I still had to go inside to get the damn truck and that took 25 minutes. Your technology is clunky, slow, outdated and uninformative. Went by the Corpus Christi Uhaul store & contacted by phone several times prior to the day of pickup to make sure everything was set (and to purchase some moving materials - they have great prices, BTW). Arrived at the store once over an hour after they opened and the manager hadn't even shown up yet even though he was scheduled to open the store. An employee, Dylan, was there by himself trying his hardest to take care of things and seemed to be the only one I dealt with at that location prior to the day of pick-up who tried to provide good customer service. Got a call in the morning 2 days before pick-up day, informing me they didn't have the trailer I'd reserved. The young man who called seemed to panic when I inquired about the trailer, tried to tell me it just wasn't going to be available, panicked more when I pushed back at that, then said they would try to locate one and he'd call me back. By 3:30pm, no one had called back, so I called and Dylan answered. He let me know the trailer was indeed there and everything would be ready. We showed up to get the truck & trailer on pick-up day and it was not ready, not available for pickup and no one at Uhaul central could get hold of the manager to find out what went wrong. We had to push back all of our plans a few hours and come back an hour later when someone was at the store. When we came back a young lady ran around to get us situated and we were able to get the truck and trailer, nearly 2 hours later than planned. This pushed back our ability to get the truck loaded on time, which had a domino effect on the entire move and made us late to the Title Agency to sign papers to close on our house. When we arrived in Minnesota, a blizzard rolled in and the local Uhaul folks were very gracious in accommodating us, letting us drop off the trailer early, then park the truck at another Uhaul store until the storm was over. The truck got snowed in, but a nice man named Dan at the Crystal location helped us get it out of the snow so we could take it back to the drop off location. Overall, the truck & trailer were in great shape and worked out well - I've rented about a dozen trucks over the years and this one was hands down the best. The pickup/Corpus Christi location created a LOT of unnecessary stress and delay and could use some serious customer service training (except Dylan - who should get promoted). To this day I've still never heard from the manager. As someone who spent 20 years working in customer service, if this manager worked for me, he wouldn't be anymore if this is his idea of how to take care of customers. The folks at Uhaul Central and in Minnesota were all great.MICHAEL B.

When the truck was reserved the mileage was calculated from near our house to address in Corpus but they had us go much further to pick it up that when we turned it in we were over 20 miles and I told him it's because Uhaul has us go to another location further from home than where I had booked. He would not make note or call his Manager. He said they don't estimate BUT when I reserved near our home the address was put in and then estimated. I should not have to pay more for Uhaul changing our location.James S.
The Uhaul computer system was down when I arrived. The on site staff were not wearing masks and said they couldn't give me the truck for 90 minutes and were waiting for the system to get back online. I asked why they couldn't do a manual contract and he said he wasn't going to do one because it was essentially an inconvenience for his staff. I told him the inconvenience in this case was on the customer and that should not be the case. He also raised his voice telling me to contact corporate because it wasn't his fault. I told him he had some things to learn about customer service and that he should do everything to minimize the impact on the customer. I told him I would come back and also said customers depend on the staff to keep them safe and when interacting with the customers they should wear a mask. He apologized and said I was correct. I returned in 20 minutes to see if the system was back online. It was not but he agreed to do a manual contract. He took all my information, could not print out a contract, overcharged me for 2 dolly's I did not request and said he would have to give me a refund. A young employee continued to walk by me without a mask after he heard me tell the staff they should wear theirs. I said, yet again, they should be wearing masks. He sarcastically said he was eating. I told him he should eat in the breakroom and not behind the counter with customers. He showed an attitude but put on his mask. It was apparent he was being defiant towards the customer. I called back the following day to confirm the refund and he said he reduced the amount for the 2 dolly's. However, he double charged my card the full amount. The truck was banged up but it served its purpose. The one thing that was frustrating was when I picked up my truck I guess there was only one employee working and there were a. Inch of customers. Some wanting propane some wanting trucks and trailers. I did the online pickup because I thought it'd be faster, but no one was inside to give me my key for like 15 minutes and then when he came in he had a bunch of customers with him that he was helping so I had to wait even longer. I am very disappointed and traumatized by my experiences with the truck and services of U-Haul at this location: U-Haul Moving & Storage at S Padre Island Dr. 4344 S Padre Isl. Dr.; Corpus Christi, TX 78411. On Thursday, November 26, 2020, I rented a 15' truck for a move from Corpus Christi, TX to Houston, TX. The truck seemed to be all right, but it was a bit rough. I dismissed any thought of problems with the truck thinking that the manager would certainly make sure the truck was safe and operating well for a trip to Houston, TX. I started preparing my items to load on the truck that evening. By the next morning I reflected on how the truck was performing, I questioned myself as to whether the truck ride home was an indication of a problem. I moved some items using the truck and got caught in a downpour of rain. Turning the windshield wipers on, I discovered that I saw that the wipers were bad. Now, I realize that the tires are bad or unbalanced and not fit for a long drive of over 200 miles. I called customer service, and that representative instructed me to call "Roadside Assistance." I called "Roadside Assistance." That representative assigned me to the U-Haul at: 3611 S Port Ave, Corpus Christi, TX 78415, which he said was showing 6 miles away, but it was over 12.9 miles away. The Roadside Assistance person had arranged for an exchange truck, but when he came back on the phone line, I told him that I want to use the truck in town and cancel my trip to Houston. The Roadside Assistance person said that the manager at Port Avenue will be able to help me and make the change. The manager at the Port Ave. location was rude and refused to follow the Roadside Assistance order. The manager sent me back to the South Padre Island Dr. location. At the South Padre Island location, the manager was rude and finally directed a staff person to take the windshield wiper blade off and match it for a replacement. The staff took the blade off, but he had no replacement. I thought they had put the blade back on, but the manager sent me out with a missing windshield wiper blade, and we had a pouring rain the next day as I was trying to move some items to storage. I am requesting a "COMPLETE REFUND" of what I paid. The managers of both stores put my life in danger and caused great inconvenience by not servicing my truck or replacing it.SELENA B.

Make sure rental trucks are sanitized for the next Custoner. Covid-19 is real any ppl can still get it from moving trucks,. Vans, and equipment. I should have received a discount off the charges I encounter then the truck was half full, so that was an extra 60.00 in total for gas. The requirements should be bring truck back with a full tank of gas. Plus I was charged for extra miles, so yes I am so dissatisfied with the trip this time around. The vehicle was not well maintained. No windshield washer fluid. Big hole in the seat. As I was driving, I kept hearing a noise but didn't know where it was coming from. I stopped midway during my trip to see if I could find what was making the noise. When I returned the truck go the site, the person checking the vehicle stated that the noise was from the front window seal. The seal was hitting the top of the cab making the noise. That's unexceptional. To pay that much money and to be driving a vehicle that you don't know if it's having a mechanical issue or your load is bouncing around in the back.
