There wasn't clear instruction about how to get the access card to enter the storage facility. When I went in the store to get the card no instruction was given, so I had to go back in a second time and then they told me I had to swipe the key card twice on 2 separate panels to gain access.Devon A. | Online Move In

My gas gauge was at 5/8, not 3/4, as they said, when I started the van. I checked that carefully. And I returned it at 5/8, and yet was charged for 4 gallons of gas after traveling only 20 miles on a short errand! 4 gallons?! That's really chiseling the customer. Horrendous customer service!! We were given a quote three weeks ago and reserved it while making our moving plans. Upon pickup on moving day, we were told that it had been entered incorrectly by the Uhaul rep, and we were now being charged an additional $1,200.00. Only half of the employees were wearing masks and yes directly talking to customers who were obviously uncomfortable. My equipment I rented that morning was not available. The truck looked like it hit everything but the lottery. The truck broke down for 4 hours. 11:30 pm to 3:30am. It was 20 degrees out. I could not start the truck to warm it up. My daughter's were so cold and tired.Daniel D.

As paying customers, we shouldn't have to performing the pre-check on the vehicle for issues on our own (using your website), the U-Haul staff should be doing that. If we are doing part of their job, we should be given a discount.Richard Earl G.

The only problem was that when I got the trailer to my home, I found a box inside that was full of new trailer hitch connectors. I called the UHaul site and had to ask my son to drive to the site and return the box the next day. Otherwise, the trailer itself worked great and the personnel were fine.Kenneth W.

the truck you gave us was below par - we filled it with gas and then drove it and realized it would not be capable of getting to our destination. We needed to upgrade our storage room to a larger one, we had to walk around the place 5x and wait like 10 additional minutes to find someone to help us. Then, not her fault, but she was new and did not know anything. They saw us pull in with the 27foot truck, we told them it was completely full, and the room that we were upgraded to did not even fit our stuff. we had to bring more stuff back to where we are staying, which is definately not the point of having a storage unit. I cannot even walk in there, so there is NO way of me finding anything ever until we move it all out. They should be knowledgeable of what size rooms will fit the trucks that people pull in with. If they knew they did not have a unit large enough to accommodate, I would expect them to get on the phone with a different uhaul in manchester or close by and find one that would be sufficient. If that is not possible, youre better off letting the customer know that rather than having an unhappy customer, because now my finace said he will never use uhaul again. and i really am not happy that i cannot go there to look for stuff when i want it. just saying- not completely her fault, she was new, but she should not have been left in that situation, there should have been someone knowledgeable with her until she was sufficiently trained.Sara I. | First Impressions

Sliding the card as one leaves takes some getting used to, but I eventually did. It also helps that you can go back hours later when you remember and slide it then LOL. Also, yesterday. I received a final auto pay reminder for July after I checked out of the unit last week. I know it's probably because the two systems aren't linked, but it still could be slightly worrisome to some people. However, a terrific experience overall, especially with the first free month after my move here from Texas and with the ability to get settled into my apartment more gradually and in an organized way. Finally, I get a lot of these kinds of auto-surveys including one for recent service to my Hyundai, and this was the easiest one to use.
