I went to 3 different u-haul rental places. First one I waited over 1 hr no one helped me. Second I went the man could not even use the computer to see what they had to use. Third one I go into to reserve the truck they told me they had it. I go to pick it up two days later they tell me that they don't have the truck. I go to a fourth location the one on the Salem turnpike in Roanoke they have the truck I'm in and out less than 10 minutes. Excellent service at that location the other ones I have to say are very poor.

Come up with a system where you know who is open or closed. It's very disappointing to drive 30 mins to find the place closed, but avertised as open. I was desperate and what I could. Poor customer service.

When I 1st got my space it was so easy and everything I needed the young man who helped me took to my unit and realized it hadn't been cleaned out yet and quickly took to a nicer unit which made me feel so much more comfortable about where the unit was located. The 1st one was kinda in a hall way and this new 1 is right outside I can just pull handle my business and go. I had a great experience and will definitely be recommending uhaul in the future Thanks Guys!!!!!

Uhaul advertises a 5X9 trailer to transport a motorcycle. Some of these trailers do not have a wheel chock, which is an absolute necessity. It is also extremely dangerous. Additionally there are no tie down rings for the rear. Uhaul attempts to get around this by advertising that "many of our trailers have the chocks" However that is a legal fine print tactic to escape liability. In my case I was given one of these trailers. When I discovered the problem I attempted to call Uhaul at the local number. Apparently the call either goes to a center or no one answers at the local number. So much for customer service. At any rate after 5 minutes of listening to a recording telling me how important my call was, I realized no one was going to answer. I gave up. Having no choice, I attempted to chock the wheel myself, and tie the rear straps to the side bars of the trailer. While on I_75 in heavy traffic the front wheel slipped and the front straps became loose. The rear straps held. The bike swayed back and forth causing the trailer to also dangerously sway. I was able to control the problem until I could get on the shoulder. An extremely bad situation with a loose motorcycle in heavy high speed traffic, and then trying to repair the problem on the shoulder of a busy Interstate. It is only a matter of time that rental of these unsafe "motorcycle" trailers will result in a serious accident, if in fact, it has not already happened. This comment, may or may not be published, even though Uhaul says it will be, is to warn customers and put Uhaul on notice.

Better direct customer dialogue. Every conversation and communication shouldnt be electronic. Why was I billed an additional $40.00 on my credit card account without prior notice, as in when vehicle was returned? I will be calling on Monday, Nov. 2,2020 to discuss this issue further. On the grounds that I wasn't advised, I will probably dispute the additional charge as I called in advance to advise of the late return and inquired then of additional charges. Nobody was present at the office when we went to return the equipment. We had to leave the equipment and trust them to bill us correctly. We then received the receipt by email and found we were charged for 3 appliance dollies (which we did not request or use - it was found in the back not attached to the wall when we opened the truck), we were charged for 3 sets of furniture pads (there were only 2 packs of them in the truck and we only opened one set), and for 3 furniture dollies (we never detached it from the wall)! Very dishonest way to treat a customer. We should be owed a refund of $71.

Another positive experience at turn in in Roanoke. The guy who was working came right out and went over the truck immediately. He told me their were no extra charges and thanked me for my business. I have used U-haul probably more than a dozen times and this was the easiest time ever, both at pickup and drop off. It was also a newer truck and was very clean.

This storage facility advertised itself to be climate-controlled. It is not. My items were ruined by mold, insects and mice. The employee door to the storage units was often left open overnight, allowing the weather and pests to come in. And the access gate was always left open.

The overall experience was very good. Due to multiple customers in the store with one associate available, we did not do the walkthrough together. I explained I did not use the furniture pads that I preordered. However, the charge was not taken off. After calling customer service, Todd reviewed the order and cleared the charge. The drivers side visor was broken and I had to move it to the side in order to keep it from blocking my line of sight! The tire light was on the entire time I drove and the truck displayed a message to check the tire unit so I couldn't see how many miles I was driving. The shocks were beyond terrible. This vehicle should be maintained before it is rented out again and I should not have had to drive it! I should be refined my money!! If UHaul is going to maintain a good reputation, these old and useful vehicles need to be maintained. Also, the person that helped me pick up the truck didn't care about the visor at all.

The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t a light in the unit. I had to rely on the main light that housed all of the units to see while I was moving my stuff in. Other than that, it was a very nice and easy experience.

I was disappointed with the fact that the light in the hallway was interoperable as well as there being no light in the unit itself so that you can see where you are putting things (so that you can do it efficiently). Lighting is needed not just for visibility but also for safety.
