Extremely rude staff. BS excuses followed by attitude to upcharge customer not in line with U-Haul public information. Workers wear camera recording glasses to try out you on their social media. Truck smelt like marijuana.

CHARLES AI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at the U-Haul South End location in Charlotte was disappointing from start to finish. I picked up my rental on Friday, July 10, and what should have been a quick process ended up taking well over an hour just to receive the vehicle. The entire experience felt disorganized, and there was very little urgency or communication from the staff. When I finally received the truck, I immediately noticed there was equipment inside that did not belong there and should have been removed before the vehicle was rented. On top of that, the fuel level was sitting on "Low Fuel," which is unacceptable for a rental vehicle. Instead of being able to start my move, my first stop had to be a gas station to ensure I wouldn't run out of fuel. The customer service was equally disappointing. The employee working behind the counter appeared to be more focused on closing and leaving than helping customers. She had a noticeably poor attitude throughout the interaction and made very little effort to provide even basic customer service. Rather than taking ownership of the delays and condition of the vehicle, she casually suggested that I "come back tomorrow and get a discount." That response was frustrating and completely missed the point. I had reserved the truck for that day and had a moving schedule to keep. Returning the next day was never a realistic option. Overall, the experience reflected a lack of preparation, professionalism, and customer care. When customers reserve moving equipment, they're often working on tight schedules, and delays like this create unnecessary stress. I hope management reviews the service standards at this location and takes steps to improve both the vehicle preparation process and the level of customer service being provided.

He did an excellent job going as fast as he could with a positive attitude. I’m not sure if his coworker didn’t show but I hope you don’t normally schedule only one employee at that site with that many rentals at once. Kudos to that worker.

They wouldn’t fit in the holes on my husbands vw atlas v6(towing capacity 5k lbs) We wound up having to take two cars so I could attach it to my jeep. Please come up with an adapter or other solution.
Tim PGot there at 840am as I had checked in the day before for self pickup. When I arrived the male employee on premises barely wanted to answer my question about picking up. Said we’d have to wait til 9am because you can’t mobile pickup a 20 foot truck? Makes no sense, as I checked in the day before for it. The girl at the desk had no clue what she was doing, and I assume the manager, older lady, stepped in to help us. She handed me the key and told me the truck was in back in the gravel lot. Truck wasn’t there. Walked back up, and found the truck literally in front of the building. It was parked in a tight space that I myself, had to back out. If you’re going to make the people renting your trucks for high prices, back out of tight spaces, maybe install backup cameras? Do better, Uhaul.

Tejuan RMy experience at this location was extremely disappointing. The staff were unprofessional, made inappropriate sexual comments about customers, and came across as rude and unfriendly to all customers throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere was neither welcoming nor customer-focused. In addition, the location did not honor what U-Haul's online customer service had promised, which made the experience even more frustrating. Based on my experience, this was one of the worst U-Haul locations I have visited. I would recommend avoiding this location if possible.

You all need to update their website to make this process easier for customers because I rent a lot from Uhaul and any time I have to do it self return the website and the app never work you cannot log onto it.

Anne SI have a U-Haul facility closer to my apartment; however, many reviews of that location left me feeling anxious, so I went with the masses and chose a location slightly farther from home with better feedback, and was glad I did. Check in was easy; the clerk was friendly and professional. They had my equipment ready (furniture dolly, pads, van) with no rental surprises. After driving the van 700 miles, I returned it the following day with the app-- also a simple process, and I was once again on my way. Thank you.

RONALD MEquipment was fine, the staff was borderline rude so if your ok with that and there are no issues with the equipment then this location is serviceable.
Richard DAfter I got my trailer home and started loading my merchandise, I noticed that there was an oily residue on the floor of the trailer. I looked inside the trailer at the rental place but did not check the floor there. When I returned the trailer Monday afternoon, I mentioned this to the service person when he helped me remove the trailer. He said he would talk to the manager about it. I did not hear anything back. Also, I was contacted by a service person Tuesday asking when I was going to return the trailer!!? I told her I return it Monday afternoon, and the gentleman said he would check me in, but apparently never did. I have not had good customer service with this location since the manager Keith left. I am a reoccurring customer due to my art business, and he and his service people treated me very well. Since he left and they left, the rate of customer service at this location has dropped tremendously.

Bradley PI had online reservations for 5:00am - the truck was block in. Calling into the 800 they tired to help me get into a truck them. I went to three different store to no avail. Each time the information provided to the lady at the 800 call center was incorrect. No keys; No trucks. Finally went back to the original store 2 hours laters bc the call center was not able to help either; the manager was able to get me a truck them. i ended up paying double that day and waiting on a refund for one of those charges.

There was only one guy inside and a line of customers. Ultimately I found out I could have just handed the guys outside my key. Took 30 minutes for me to find that out.

kathy aI requested a receipt before leaving the location so I could verify that I was being charged correctly. The front desk associate advised that the receipt would be emailed to me. However, upon receiving the emailed receipt, I noticed additional charges that were not disclosed or communicated to me prior to my departure. These charges should have been presented and explained at the time of checkout so I could review and address them in person.

Shana PThere was only one person assisting customers at the checkout desk. We showed up at 8:20 for an 8:30 reservation of a van, and it took 25 minutes to get helped. The worker didn't seem to have any urgency or care for how slow he was moving. When I made the reservation online, I was able to opt out of the insurance option. When we checked in though, he told us it was mandatory for vans and I cannot opt out, even though everything online indicates I can. That should be better communicated, or just not an option if a van is selected during the reservation process as that was like a slap after the long wait

This GM is very unprofessional and some of his team are not professional as well. I will never recommend anyone to go to South Blvd. Location. I am so glad to be out of there. They can say what they want to about me it is perfectly fine but I know I was a woman of my word when I paid my bill and explained every to them when I had a situation. I will never recommend anyone to this UHAUL and where that GM goes do not put your things in any storage he is at. I do not care how long he has been with Uhaul company. This GM does not know how to operate this facility professionally. They do not smile , they hang up the phones, they don't answer, they ask you if you in default around other customers. Smh thank God I'm out!!!!

It was kind of hard to get my stuff because a lot of people was trying to move out since we were forced to move due to the city. The same unit I got from U-Haul I went to public storage and it was $100 cheaper inside a building climate controlled.

When I summoned the courage to get her things I came back to the storage. It no longer had a ceiling. Wire mesh covered the top. I had rented a large trailer for all her things. When I went into the storage it had been ransacked. The majority of my daughters belongings were gone. I found items that did not belong to her on top of the few boxes that were hers. . I took the few boxes and went home. All the years of paying on the storage were for not. The precious items I had from her life were gone forever. Not from fire or a flood but from thieves rummaging through what was left of my daughters life! To add insult to injury, a few weeks later I get a call requesting payment on the now empty storage. The entire experience was outrageous!!!!
