Ensure that customers are able to receive the equipment they reserved. I reserved a 26 ft truck with a 7 a.m. pick up; however, I ended up with a 20 foot truck. As a result of not getting the 26 ft, I had to extend one day and I put more miles than planned. Moving is very expensive without having to pay extra for the wrong equipment.JENNIFER H.

My reservation was to pick-up at the Summer Ave. location. The day before I was scheduled to pick-up the trailer I got an Email from U-Haul changing the pickup location to the Lamar Ave location. When I arrived at Lamar Ave location they were clueless about my reservation and did not even have a trailer available. I was directed back to the Summer Ave location. The Lamar Ave. personnel were not able to call the Summer Ave. location and confirm that they had a trailer for me. The trailer I finally picked up at Summer Ave. was filled with dirt, weeds, and trash. I filled a 5 gallon bucket cleaning out the trailer. The trailer was hooked up and the light were "checked". I was told the brake light, turn signal, etc were all working fine. I should have checked myself. The lights were so dim that they could not be seen except when standing 6 inches away from the trailer. This almost caused a serious accident when I was trying to return to the right lane after pulling over into the left lane to avoid a disabled vehicle on the side of the road and an inpatient driver passed me on the right despite the use of the right turn signal.Brian A.

improve the on-line check-in experience. The web site wouldn't upload pictures (perhaps it's not iPhone friendly). I had to check in the day of pick-up, which cost maybe a half-hour, including waiting in line. The clerk sent me a link, which allowed me to upload just fine. I bought a couple locks because I was told the'd fit the trailer/hitch (In fact I could see no way any lock would fit the trailer!) but they didn't so I had to return them.William M.

Not a friendly place. No pleasantries. Just straight to business like I was in line for free handouts. Staff behind the counter were making negative remarks about the previous customer while I was standing there. The biggest issue wasn't with this location. My truck was not available at the location I reserved. I was given a number to call and shown the door. While on hold I was automatically transferred twice to out of market locations that could not help me and I had to get back in line on hold each time. Why transfer me somewhere that can't help me. Sharon blamed "the internet" for messing up my reservation. She was only able to find a shorter truck. I lost an hour getting this resolved which cost me $150 in labor that was waiting for me to arrive with the truck. Sharon said she gave me the $50 credit for not being able to provide the truck as guaranteed. I did not see that credit on bill I received after returning the truck.Nathaniel G.

I called to turn in the trailer early on Sunday. No Problem. Went to the location to return... NO Problem, The person had me back in the trailer and unhooked it. We chatted, he said all was good to go and I would get an email. Great., I get a call on Tuesday, the day after it was supposed to be in asking where the trailer was. The agent calling was almost insulting that I was late in turning the trailer in. I asked for a manager, and heard her in the background. I explained what had transpired on Sunday and exactly where the trailer could be found on their lot. The agent said she would check with eh employee that I described and get back to me. I got an email later that it had been returned. NO Apology or anything of the nature. I know mistakes happen, but they called like a bill collector looking for a problem. I made reservation online and reserved for 24 hours. 20 mins after I picked up the cargo van she called me saying that I need to be back within 12 hours and kept yelling that â€œit's not my fault and you need to be backâ€. Ms. Braddock is wonderful, but the curly haired young woman seems upset at all times. I have been to this location 4 times in the past 30 days to rent and return equipment and that young woman acts like the customers are disturbing her. The Manager was excellent, the service was excellent. The problem is keeping the 20ft truck in a good condition. I was afraid I wouldn't make it to my destination. So it's not because of the Manager, or employees, it's the equipment and giving them the ability to do their job that I see as the issue. Give them an environment that is workable. Fix t toilet, update their customer lobby, give the Manager what she needs to be successful. Have you ever heard of setting someone up for success? She does all she can to make customers happy but she can't fix the equipment, and she can't get things she needs to do her job successfully without her bosses help. Even though I reserved ahead of time, it took an hour and a half to check out. There wasn't anyone else ahead of me or in the store while I was attempting to check out. The attendant was apologetic and polite, but complained that the system was glitching and she tried to check me out over 4 times, before it finally worked.Felicia M.
I was charged for a furniture dolly that I did not get and after 45 minutes spent trying to correct my bill for another mistake, I just gave up. Moving is stressful enough without having to spend hours at uhaul. I spent 45 minutes picking it up (and I was given the wrong truck) and then 45 minutes dropping it off and waiting while they were trying to figure out why my bill was so high when I only drove 18 miles. Get better customer service representatives amd store managers, they should never under any circumstances tell a customer they believe their employee over the customer, I have no reason to lie and was treated unfairly by the store manager and her associate there the lady at the front, she did for someone else what she wouldn't do for me and made me jump thru hoops but not the other lady who didn't have the right paperwork either, the associate that was there let the other lady slide with no paperwork but not me, I was treated very unfairly by this place and the store manager she doesn't care how her customers are treated all she cares about is not being bothered by customers on her day off.. as a manager of a restaurant I WOULD NEVER tell a customer they were wrong and even if know my employee well then I still wouldn't say I know he or she didn't say anything I would address it, there's no reason an employee should be texting her manager and talking sh** about a customer to the manager thru text messages or in person period, they should be professional and act that way and they have intact not! The store manager at summer and her female associate are not professional they act bougie and un professional, I would rather drive across town or to another state just because customer service is way better there. The customer service via phone contact was a terrible experience. After holding for ten minutes, I found no help with the staff associate. Uhaul changed the pick up time although I had a reservation for a different time weeks in advance. Absolutely no professional. I will seek other rental companies in the future.BRIAN M.
I booked this pickup a week in advance. I got a call on the day of my pickup at 7AM informing me that I (the customer) overbooked this location and my truck would not be available for pickup at 8AM. I called the store back (which is actually the 800 number) and was transferred to 3 different agents in which none could help. (Two of which were in Nashville and I am located in Memphis) I then proceed to go to the store and the worker was extremely rude and told me â€œI just work for uhaul I don't make the rulesâ€. I was never told that my pickup time was changed to 830. The store manager then informed me someone would be bringing the truck back at 815. I stayed at the store until 830 and was then given the keys. No one ever brought this truck back. It was sitting in the parking lot the entire time. The store manager and worker were extremely rude and had the worst attitudes ever. If I could've given zero stars, I would have!Rebecca C.

Most of the workers at this location are rude it’s incredibly unbelievable there are very few that actually have customer service skills I couldn’t wait to move out so I wouldn’t have to deal with any of them ever again. The night I moved out a white lady working cause I don’t have names said it would be $20 to unhook and hook my carrier back up to the truck, I thought it was ridiculous but whatever I’ll pay it. I sent my son in to pay and the black that was working told her not to do it and from my understanding from another customer he felt like she was talking nasty to him so he came out to help us. I’m just glad it’s over! You guys charged a whole month and I was only there less than a week this pay month, then no one ever called me for a location to pick up my reservation so I had to find a location in another state at the last minute and drive 3 hours y’all are the worse.Yulander L. | Overall Experience

I have been using U-Haul storage since 2004 and in Feb 2021 I was able to get rid of one of the 2 rooms that I had. It was a sense of relief. I have had bad service many times when I had to interact with the front office staff. The day before yesterday, May 1st, 2021, I had to go to the office because your computer system was down. This is unacceptable. I was unable to pay my rent online. I had to drive 9 miles one-way because I did not want to be late with my rent. I stored half of my household in room 1713 for 15 1/2 years and finally on February 2nd, 2021 I consolidated all my possessions into room 1705. Over the years, I have noticed that the quality of service of this facility has gone down. It seems that when I ask for something, they are doing me a favor. It took a month for the office to acknowledge that I had emptied room 1713 which I communicated with the attendant at the front office immediately after I cleaned the room. They even sent me an email asking me for payment of rent of the unit after 3 weeks that I have emptied it and released it. I felt the young lady who was to finalized my storage locker closure did not take my concerns to heart. I raised two or three concerns that I felt she could have handled, but she chose not to assist! I reserved a 10x15 unit before hand and the staff said that they could not rent the last kind of unit, so they may not be able to give me the 10x15 that I reserved???
