My wife and I oftentimes rent vehicles for small errands. This is the 2nd terrible experience at this facility. The vehicle was already damaged and had very little gas. I replaced the gas used for the ten mile trip, but was ultimately charged for 2 gallons of gas (plus other fees) for a vehicle that burns 15-20 miles per gallon. As a remedy, I'll rent vehicles from another vendor with greater brand equity among consumers who generally try to operate in good faith with rental equipment.Joseph B.

I called and reserves a 15 foot truck for 24 hours and to pick up late Friday. When I got to the store they had me down to pick up the truck Sat night, No 15 feet trucks were available. The 10 foot truck didn't have a ramp and I had to make more trips. My mileage was higher and my over-all bill was high.CHARLES N.
They had to connect three dollies to the truck hitch before before one was found that would work. Dollies should be checked for proper operation each time they are turned in.Calvin R.

I had a reservation for a 15' but they had no truck that size to fulfill my reservation that I made weeks ago- had to get what they had and I got a 10', very frustrating had to make several trips- not sure why they did not have my reserved truck size but should have been notified prior to getting there at 8JAMES C.
I had a blown tire, I paid to replace it, when I went to drop off the equipment, the manager said that they were not going to reimburse me for the replacement tire because I was not authorized to replace the tire. I lost $50. When you rent trailer is your responsibility to provide tire in excellent condition obviously the trailer I rented was poor maintainedWILFREDO A.

The customer service experience I received while picking up my rental was unacceptable. The young Caucasian woman was being short, rude, and like simply questions was a bother for her to answer. Her demeanor was was unpleasant. I added an appliance dolly to my rental and she didn't even bother to tell us they were out of dollies prior to checking us out or offer any other solutions/recommendations. It wasn't until we were inspecting equipment that we noticed the dolly not on the truck so we inquired about it and she rudely responded 'We're out so I took it off the bill'. We wouldn't have reserved one if it wasn't needed and this is something she should have addressed with us and I could have went to another location all together to make sure I had what I needed. But I had already paid at this location which ended in a very difficult move for us without the dolly and also couldn't move things we needed to move because of the lack of dolly. We definitely will not return to this location in the future.SHAQUITA S.
I was very disappointed with the Summer location (Memphis) Uhaul Manager, She discriminated, because my DL was from other state, She said , she will not rent the truck to me because my driver license, I told her I have commercial DL and she said, what guarantees you give to me you will not take the truck to Texas. The staff talk amongst themselves as if the customers are not there. One person behind the counter refused to go assist in getting my truck returned because he didn't want to deal with though employee who was working on it. Both at check-in and at check out, I was dealing with staff who obviously are not interested in customers or customer service.CHARLES B.

The truck was a piece of junk. Tread on tires was not good. The driver door had lots of road noise. The sun visor on driver side was torn off and put back on, but on every bump it would come loose. Comment was made that this truck was geared for local use, but I told them I would be driving over 400 miles and where i was driving to......MICHAEL B.

When moving, things don't always go as plan. I was an hour late picking up the truck, which made the UHaul clerk decide to quit helping me and move on to another customer instead of finishing with me. When I said I needed to go, she reply I was late. Then I got got charge for a dolly I didn't rent. UHaul took the dolly off my bill.Cheri P.

Rented a cargo van on Saturday. Made my reservation directly with the Summer location in Memphis. At the time I made the reservation I asked about the rate of 19.99. They confirmed the rate plus milage. Nothing was said about a weekend rate being more. I was charged 79.99 per day. This is not right!.Vanessa G.
Better communication across the company and locations. If I reserved two items and then to be told on the day of pick-up that I have to choose which one instead of having what I reserved is not convenient for the customer. And for the location and mileage not to be entered correctly from the beginning which cost me having to pay more than what I was originally quoted through customer service. Most of the workers at this location are rude it’s incredibly unbelievable there are very few that actually have customer service skills I couldn’t wait to move out so I wouldn’t have to deal with any of them ever again. The night I moved out a white lady working cause I don’t have names said it would be $20 to unhook and hook my carrier back up to the truck, I thought it was ridiculous but whatever I’ll pay it. I sent my son in to pay and the black that was working told her not to do it and from my understanding from another customer he felt like she was talking nasty to him so he came out to help us. I’m just glad it’s over! You guys charged a whole month and I was only there less than a week this pay month, then no one ever called me for a location to pick up my reservation so I had to find a location in another state at the last minute and drive 3 hours y’all are the worse.Yulander L. | Overall Experience

Properly train the staff. They rented me equipment they knew was faulty and I almost had a wreck leaving the parking lot, I turned around to get let them know the trailer was broken to which they replied they already knew and then refused to give me the only one they had left because they said someone just reserved it when I had a reservation already scheduled. So I had to beg to get a piece of equipment that I already should have been hooked up to all while thanking God I did not kill myself or others from being hooked up to a trailer that was known to be faulty. This location will get a bad review on every platform I can put a review on. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a business.Raymond S.
Check engine light on and couldn't drive over 40mph due to noise coming from underneath truck that would drown out any conversation. Plus I was told that I was being given the "better" van - I'd hate to see the others. I made reservations over phone put on my credit card to sale person that employee was going drive the van gavve his drivers license number he that was fine just bring the license with us and brought the employee with me . Got and the lady would rent it to me because she the credit card and license had to be the same name. So y'all need to the same rule at the store that u do over the phone. The truck accomplished what I needed done but I was told I had a 1000 mile allowance when I made reservation by man who took it. I questioned the initial charge when I picked truck up because they added a $72 â€œmileage chargeâ€ which two men at counter said would be adjusted when I came back with truck. I was never told and did not know there was ONLY a 750 mikes allowance on this 5 day rental which I used locally. I intend to dispute payment with my Capital One bankJOSEPH N.

This comment is for Uhaul in general...customer service is lacking in knowledge. After calling to reserve a truck I had to call to change pick up time, I was told there was no truck available for me at that location. Call another location to reserve a truck I was told I could only return vehicle to that location...causing me to pay more mileage and gas which I could have saved by dropping off at a location closer to my home. The return application needs to be programmed to be more customer friendly...it took me over 45 minutes to get into the system to process the return of the truck...everybody don't have smartphones to comply to all a customer is prompt to do to return a rental.. called to get assistance and was placed on hold far too long, so I hung up...with assistance of someone with an iphone I was finally able to get the rental returned. I wasted too much time and money to rent/pickup and return a truck for a two hour local rental to a six hour frustrating overall process. Do better uhaul you've lost my business.Janice C.

The truck I rented was in fair condition. I completed the online check in process which turned out to be a complete waste of time. My main problem was that I had an appointment to pick up the truck at 5:30 PM but it took four attempts to process my payment, two different computers and over 30 minutes before I was able to leave the facility. I had four people helping me move heavy furniture that I was paying $20 an hour to sit around and do nothing. Terrible experience!Chris J.

I have been using U-Haul storage since 2004 and in Feb 2021 I was able to get rid of one of the 2 rooms that I had. It was a sense of relief. I have had bad service many times when I had to interact with the front office staff. The day before yesterday, May 1st, 2021, I had to go to the office because your computer system was down. This is unacceptable. I was unable to pay my rent online. I had to drive 9 miles one-way because I did not want to be late with my rent. You should hire better IT personnel and if it was due to power failure, you should have a Diesel generator.JULIO C. | First Impressions
