Uhaul is always the worst. I booked at 26 and confirmed: then I was calluses and said I had to go to another facility so I agreed. Then called because there was no 26 and I had to have a 17. Then at pickup wait took forever because your people are slow. Then there was a stack of 20 footers a available. Why was I not offered one of these at booking? So I switched to the 20 but they could not print out another rental document so I left with the wrong rental doc, the whole Uhaul system is horrible.Rick V. | First Impressions

Have more parking spaces designated for customers only. When we arrived at 645 am there wasn't much parking to choose from. Needs to be more instructions as to where to park. When I drove in the markers on ground tell you to go around to front. Which I did but then an employee told us to move that we can't park there. I am very disappointed with the way my team and I were treated on our last rental. We were on a job site outside of the BCS area and needed to extend the trailer an extra day to get through Friday end of day. The representative told me that he would not extend my rental and demanded it be returned as another customer was waiting on it. I explained the situation on how the rental could not be returned at which point he told me he would extend the rental but he was charging me an extra $50 for the inconvenience. Friday morning rolls around and the same thing all over again. I spent 5 years working in the rental car industry, so I understand the frustration it causes when a customer extends unexpectedly. However, we never demanded a car to be return or refuse to extend to a customer who was willing to pay. We also never assessed a "citation" on top of charging the additional time.Matthew C.

The truck that was rented was in poor driving condition and was in need of a front end alignment. The truck would not drive straight and kept steering to the right. The rep gave inaccurate hours of operation and said the business closed at 5:00 pm. When I asked another rep what time the business closed, I was told at 7:09 pm. This made a big difference because our goal was to bring the truck back before the business closed for the day, A couple of people who were working in the office did not have very good people skills at all. Super fast, super friendly. I had help loading a freezer into my trailer, but did not have that same help unloading - but when I explained the situation the team gave me a dolly to use for 1 hour for free so that I could empty the trailer and bring it in on time. There were 5 male employees there. Two were working. Three were telling jokes, being very loud and obnoxious, and using foul language - f'in this, f'in that among others. One employee was on the phone and kept saying, "Can you repeat that because I can't hear you." It was because the other employees were being so loud but I guess he was too afraid to ask them to be quiet. While the other person was checking me in, the three other "workers" kept interrupting him, not about work, but asking questions about stories they were telling. He stopped working and joined in the conversation several times. A very unprofessional environment, except for the one diligent worker. The van was in good working order, but not clean.Kelley C.

The reservation system is bad. It took 9 phone calls & an hour and a half on the phone to reserve a 26' truck. When I arrived it wasn't available. But there were 3 of them on the lot. I was reminded repeatedly to have the truck back before 7:30am for the next reservation, which I did. When I drove by the lot a day later the truck was still in the same position. so 1) I called the University store to confirm they had what I needed 2) Took an Uber up there 3) They tell me they dont have what I need for the my time slot and I would have to go to the other location 4) take another Uber at additional cost to the South Texas location 5)they help me and get me in a van 6) they said that something screwy the University store did for the reservation the van would need to be returned at the University location. I said thats fine 7) get through with the van and have a friend follow me to the University location. They bein to check me in and then tell me I need to so to the South Texas store. I ask are you kidding me. The guy behind the counter specifically told me I had to drop it here. 8) Drive to the South Texas location and finally get the truck dropped off kinda crappy experience, people were nice and smiled, but they don't have any sense of how things work or what they have in stock. The dolly I paid for was missing, making it a half hour before I could actually start the move. So my movers (that I hired) couldn't touch the appliances until my husband went to get the dolly. And on top of this, I was charged for the utility dolly that I did NOT order NOR use. And to add insult to injury and the very poor service I recieved on the phone, I was charged an extra day on the rental because I was 23 minutes late getting it back. I am VERY unhappy with the service. I would have called to let them know I needed that extra half hour to make up for everyone sitting on their thumbs if someone at that location actually answered the phone without putting me on hold and subsequently hanging up with me.Sergio R.

I was handed the keys and had to hike for my truck, which was not where I was told it would be. Finally after finding my truck I pulled up only to have to load the blankets and dolly myself. This might not be too bad, if I had not had reservations stating what I needed and when. As I drove down the road, I decided to turn on the windshield wipers to clear the dirty window. I quickly learned the passenger side wiper was off track, creating a horrible scraping sound as it dragged across the window. Lastly, and least importantly, the radio would completely power off at random points for seconds at a time. I had 3 u-boxes. One was bracketed shut with square headed screws. I asked the 4 grown men working there and they didn’t know what I was talking about and didn’t care. My tools were in the box. Luckily I had a tiny bit set and pliers. The 2nd box had an alphabetical padlock. Talked to a dozen people easily. Nobody knew anything. The 3rd box was bolted shut. I just did it myself. The storage access codes were malfunctioning at the time of move-in. It took a RIDICULOUS amount of time with little resolution. The reason for my rating is because I rented a 10×10×8 storage and it was clearly not what I rented. On 10/19/2021 was my first time seeing the storage because my daughter put my belongings into the storage for me because I lived in Baton Rouge, LA before moving here this past weekend. I was charged $150 on a smaller storage. And I knew it was smaller because the way they had to store a one bedroom of furniture in there. There were free dollies to help with getting things into the storage space which was very nice, and the service elevator and main doors were nice and spacious during office hours, but the office closed early, and then the side doors were much narrower and more difficult to move bulky items through. The reason I rated this poor is because on the move-in day I tried to contact the local and 1-800 number 9 times and was on hold for a total of 1.5 hours and never got through to someone. I realize people are busy but there should be an option to leave a message and expect a TIMELY call back. The recording kept saying that 'someone will be with me shortly and calls are answered by the order received; honestly i don't think my call would have ever been answered. I have been in the facility whenever someone was waiting on a person at the counter and answered the phone, "U-Haul please hold' and didn't get back to them. This website said to contact the U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback.' 1. The computer kept popping out of current screen back to the beginning. I had to keep giving the same phone numbers over and over again. 2. We were told the unit number was 1406 so we had unloaded about 1/2 the a 15' truck of stuff next to that location. However, there was a lock on the unit. I had to go back inside. I was then told that unit was occupied and I needed to go to unit 1122. We had to re-load and move all of that stuff over to that unit. 3. On returning the truck, I was not given any paperwork showing I had returned it. It was returned clean, in good condition, with the same amount of gas. Twelve hours later I still don't have a confirmation email. 4. My answer for question number six is no only because I did not have a third option. After having moved from one city to College Station we were tired and the inconvenience was significant.
