It was great except for returning the uhaul placed me at a location 40 minutes from where i was moving into, so it was frustrating to have to wait 50 minutes on the phone to have it moved to one of the plenty locations around.Dean A.

I was handed the keys and had to hike for my truck, which was not where I was told it would be. Finally after finding my truck I pulled up only to have to load the blankets and dolly myself. This might not be too bad, if I had not had reservations stating what I needed and when. As I drove down the road, I decided to turn on the windshield wipers to clear the dirty window. I quickly learned the passenger side wiper was off track, creating a horrible scraping sound as it dragged across the window. Lastly, and least importantly, the radio would completely power off at random points for seconds at a time. I have moved numerous times and have used this location previously, but today was a miserable experience.Ryan J.

Uhaul corporate sucks. I booked my 15' truck with this location only to have somebody in corporate call me a day ahead and said that the equipment was no longer available and had to pick up at a different location. Plus I hired two movers to arrive at our apartment at 9:00am but the new location didn't open till 10:00am. Can't your morons see my order and labor timing since I booked everything through you??? Thankfully the Texas ave location in College Station answered the phone (something that you rollover phone line never did and threw in in a 40 min holding queue) and said they'd give us a 20' truck instead. Kudos to them for solving the problem that you created. Also, your chat line is total bullshit. I tried it and said was 5 min. They never did respond after an hour. And lastly, I tried to do phone check in/ pick up through your website. That's what the Texas Ave location guy said to do, since he could see that the Earl Rudder Highway location had a key lockbox to pick up our 15' truck that was loaded with the moving pads and dolly that we ordered. So your online check in said that was not possible and I must check in at the counter. Recall those late risers wouldn't be in the office until 10am on an end of the month moving weekend. Sharp business people. Lastly, the moving pads were not available at the Texas location, so had to go without on the move which added to the nicks and gouges of our furniture. So the final review - Texas Ave location 5 stars. Uhaul Rudder location 2 stars Corporate /800 number - minus 5 stars. If you really wanted to improve your business model, forward my comments to your CEO and have him crack some heads.John P.

The employees showed up to open the store late. I had a reservation to pick up a truck at 7:00 a.m. when they were supposed to open and the first guy showed up at 7:05. And his buddy was also late to open but had time to stop at McDonald's for an iced coffee. The truck wasn't ready and there was a coat hanger just sitting on the dash from the previous user indicating they never cleaned the truck after the last user. This was my first time using and renting U-Haul. Everything was new me. I decided to do the 24/7 truck share, which I highly recommend. I planned to get the ball rolling and start moving at 6. The process was pretty straightforward and simple when it came to renting and checking in on the phone. I realize during pick up process the additional items I added (2 dolleys and a pack of furniture pads were not in the U-Haul. I had to wait until the store opened to ask them about a possible refund or how was I able to get the materials to me since the location opened at a later time. (This information was given to me after chatting with the Live Agent on 24/7 Truck Share). During the wait, I decided that we can move what we can since we had a long day ahead of us. A little after this location opened (about 20-30 mins. because I understand employers need time to â€œwake upâ€ during the first part of opening), I called this location to bring this to their attention and help me find a solution. The man l spoke to was extremely sarcastic when speaking to me and it honestly made me feel not valued or heard. During our conversation, I asked him if he thought those materials would be able to fit in my SUV since I was traveling over 100 miles that day, and I didn't want to spare any additional mileage going back to the location to pick up and stop the people from helping me move. His response was â€œI don't know what kind of vehicle you drive.â€ After trying to giving him descriptive details about the car, he just interrupted and said â€œThat doesn't help. I still don't know but you can come pick it up.â€ After trying to work with him, I just gave up and just continued moving. I called back an hour later asking how I could get a refund since I had to pay before picking the truck up and we were done moving from this locationZ The same guy answered During our conversation, I informed him I was not dropping the U-Haul back to his location, his response was â€œâ€¦well right now I'm helping a customer, so I'm going to have to put you hold.â€ He put me on hold for over 20 minutes. I just hung up and gave up again. I would never forget that man's name and this location. I will never recommend nor use this location again. 24-7 Truck Share and Live Chat were extremely helpful. Cargo van was well maintained as far as I could tell, except radio was broken and there was no mobile phone connection. Cargo van was not clean. Windshield was filthy; covered with bugs and dirt. I had 3 u-boxes. One was bracketed shut with square headed screws. I asked the 4 grown men working there and they didn’t know what I was talking about and didn’t care. My tools were in the box. Luckily I had a tiny bit set and pliers. The 2nd box had an alphabetical padlock. Talked to a dozen people easily. Nobody knew anything. The 3rd box was bolted shut. I just did it myself. The storage access codes were malfunctioning at the time of move-in. It took a RIDICULOUS amount of time with little resolution. The reason for my rating is because I rented a 10×10×8 storage and it was clearly not what I rented. On 10/19/2021 was my first time seeing the storage because my daughter put my belongings into the storage for me because I lived in Baton Rouge, LA before moving here this past weekend. I was charged $150 on a smaller storage. And I knew it was smaller because the way they had to store a one bedroom of furniture in there. There were free dollies to help with getting things into the storage space which was very nice, and the service elevator and main doors were nice and spacious during office hours, but the office closed early, and then the side doors were much narrower and more difficult to move bulky items through. The reason I rated this poor is because on the move-in day I tried to contact the local and 1-800 number 9 times and was on hold for a total of 1.5 hours and never got through to someone. I realize people are busy but there should be an option to leave a message and expect a TIMELY call back. The recording kept saying that 'someone will be with me shortly and calls are answered by the order received; honestly i don't think my call would have ever been answered. I have been in the facility whenever someone was waiting on a person at the counter and answered the phone, "U-Haul please hold' and didn't get back to them. 1. The computer kept popping out of current screen back to the beginning. I had to keep giving the same phone numbers over and over again. 2. We were told the unit number was 1406 so we had unloaded about 1/2 the a 15' truck of stuff next to that location. However, there was a lock on the unit. I had to go back inside. I was then told that unit was occupied and I needed to go to unit 1122. We had to re-load and move all of that stuff over to that unit. 3. On returning the truck, I was not given any paperwork showing I had returned it. It was returned clean, in good condition, with the same amount of gas. Twelve hours later I still don't have a confirmation email. 4. My answer for question number six is no only because I did not have a third option. After having moved from one city to College Station we were tired and the inconvenience was significant. The most confusing experience with this facility ever. First they call and tell me the unit has been emptied and I hadn’t emptied it and they said rent was overdue but they have my card on file. My experience with this provider was a good one, until I had to move out during the pandemic: for two days in a row, I was forced to have to be inside their store/customer service room and in their elevator with 3 of their employees who were not wearing face masks during the Texas Governor’s mask order for public places. I waited almost an hour in line to try and get a storage unit I had reserved to find out they were not accepting card payments, so I had to pay and process it online. So I stood in line just to ask a question. The systems had shut down earlier that morning and they were having a difficult time. There also weren’t enough people working to handle the amount of people coming in.
