The reason for my rating is because I rented a 10×10×8 storage and it was clearly not what I rented. On 10/19/2021 was my first time seeing the storage because my daughter put my belongings into the storage for me because I lived in Baton Rouge, LA before moving here this past weekend. I was charged $150 on a smaller storage. And I knew it was smaller because the way they had to store a one bedroom of furniture in there. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Whole atmosphere in the customer service area was filled with tension when we walked in the door. Our customer service person acted as tho she would rather be anywhere but there. While waiting for us to complete paperwork/payment she was busy on her phone. Another young man (not counter help) acted like he must have been held at gunpoint in order for him to come to work that day. Trailer was clean but no moving pad was included as mentioned in paperwork. Very little info was provided by the young man who set-up our trailer for us. This location is the closest to our home but we will look elsewhere next time.CHARLIE K.

Heavy dents and marks all over van. The gentleman marked them however informed us that we need to take all pictures and upload them because it was not his job. Was quoted a cheaper rate for driving to a close but different. That turned out to be over 1 hr away... so ended up getting charged way more because couldn't drive that far. We went here to get a hitch installed on a truck and the individuals installed it incorrectly. When we went back to get the wiring fixed, the individual who installed the hitch said that he did not know what is wrong or how to fix it. We are going to have to take it to another shop to get it fixed and expect uHaul to pick up the cost.Jim G.

The manager and staff jumped in to help us when we had an unexpected flat tire on the trailer we rented. We never expected that have to rely upon roadside assistance, but we did. The tire man drove straight to us, quickly jacked up the trailer, fully loaded, changed the tire, checked the pressure of the other three tires, and we happily drove off. We had scheduled our pickup at 6am, before the store opened at 7. Unfortunately when we arrived, the 24/7 mobile pickup did not work. We had to return later after the store opened, and were told that the mobile system had been having problems recently. We were able to pick up the truck then, but we had already lost an hour and had to drive to the store location twice. Otherwise our rental was fine, but the mobile service not working was extremely inconvenient. I would not recommend anyone to schedule their pickup outside of store hours.Zachary S.

I reserved the truck online, understanding that I could pickup and drop-off using a mobile phone, but that did not work so well. The pickup lot is, for all intents and purposes, a separate location, and there is no mobile service (the local agents confirmed that this was well established). Once at the location with the shop and office, the app asked that I scan the location bar code, which ended up being covered by a sign that someone had propped against the wall. After figuring out where the location bar code was, and finally, painfully getting through the next steps, I received the key, but since the truck was (you guessed it, in the other lot), I was unable to finalize the rental, and had to have the onsite agent do it from their terminal. Mobile pickup sounds awesome, but I doubt that I'd ever put myself through such a frustrating experience ever again.John E.

Overall the pick-up experience went very smoothly. The one thing that was an issue was that I had reserved a furniture dolly, but when I went to pick up the rental, no furniture dollies were available. I did not get charged, so that was fine, but the dolly would have been very helpful.AARON H.

The movers that I got through Uhaul paid another company to do load things into my Uboxes. They did a terrible job and used barely any furniture pads. They also just threw things in without distributing things correctly. A lot of my furniture arrived damaged. Then when I went to pick up my Uboxes, the employees did not know how to move the uboxes with a forklift and we had to go help them. I will never use this service again.Heather M.
Truck was in poor condition, I suspect the truck may have been given to me specifically to get rid of it from this location, due to a cross country move. Battery died on me the first day, and requires me to receive multiple jump starts at various gas stations, until U-Haul was finally able to get a contractor out to service the vehicle (at 2am in the morning). Location did not have the equipment I requested available, and also told me the wrong amount of fuel to return the vehicle with, causing me to fill the tank up unnecessarily.Andrew B.

The young man who checked me in was awesome. He was polite, thorough and I never felt like I was impositioning his time doing something else. His co-worker was so involved on his phone (or whatever device was in his hand), he couldn't even speak when I walked in. That same co-worker was still that way when I came to return my truck the same day. He wanted me to just check in online, even though they were open. Next time, I probably will because I don't like feeling like a bother. The interior of my truck was dirty (dirt and debris in the floor and inside the open part of the console), the molding was coming lose on the outside of the window, and a piece on the inside driver's side was popping out from its clip. My truck on my last visit was so nice (although it had not been cleaned out in the back and I was left a dolly and movers pads that I didn't order), but the truck itself was in much better condition. I think whoever is responsible for cleaning out the trucks should either blow out or vacuum out the interior as well. People don't want to drive around in something that is dirty. Overall, I like U-Haul, but these are things that people could definitely improve upon.JULIE S.

The truck was hard to drive and in need of mechanical maintenance. The rear door was open all the way up. I'm 5'2â€ and had a hard time reaching the handle to pull it down. The hook that locks it in place was also extremely hard to close. It was in need of greasing or something. Not to mention how closely wedged the truck was in with the other trucks. I had to go get it myself. Two guys working inside, only one customer and no one could bring it around for me. Very disappointed. I've used this place three times now and this was my first bad experience.KAY K.

The cab smelled like smoke- but I emptied the ashtray and washed it and it was improved. The rubber hosing in the cab was unclamped so hot air was blowing into the cab from the engine and it got very hot before I realized why it was occurring. My contract was to return to College Station but when I arrived in CS they told me I had to return to Madisonville instead. That is almost a 2 hour round trip from CS which is ridiculous. Customer Service was no help and told me I had to return it in Madisonville or be liable for the trailer. We had a flight to catch so we just returned to the Uhaul station in CS. They were able to take it. Why would your online reservation accept a reservation to return to CS and then not allow us to return in there. Absolutely ridiculous. This will be my last time to use UHAul. Customer Service basically told me that I would have to miss my flight in order to return the trailer to Madisonville (50 miles one way from CS) or be liable for the trailer. What kind of company does this? Not one I will ever use again.ROBERT W.

Was equipment clean and well maintained? Needs options 1.Clean 2. Well maintained. Because mine still had left over trash and dirt from previous renter. But the vehicle itself gave me no problems. With this darn Covid I really didn't want to pick up after previous person. I know this Uhaul location was slammed busy, University students coming into town, people moving from city, the month of August is very busy. On Sunday August 29th I was at this location picking up a 10' truck and Kevin was the only one managing the store inside. He did a tremendous job because there was a line! He apologized for the delay told everyone he would get to them ASAP and he did. When you were the one he was assisting he gave you 100% of his attention. I thought he did an amazing job, with his great personality, side comments and joking it was no problem to wait for his assistance. Great employee, very customer respectful & focused. There were free dollies to help with getting things into the storage space which was very nice, and the service elevator and main doors were nice and spacious during office hours, but the office closed early, and then the side doors were much narrower and more difficult to move bulky items through. First after talking to someone on the phone that assured me I would have a unit by the time needed. When we got there to check in the representative was not sure. That just added huge amounts of anxiety. Next, my daughter made a trip to move out of storage on aug 2, 2021. The store personnel told her that the storage was closed and she had no access as they had trucks everywhere. We pay to have access and should have been able to move out that day. But the storage facility smells like urine in the hallways and there is a rat traps/poison in our storage unit which causes concern that my stuff will become rat invested, or smell of dead rats in a few months. The reason I rated this poor is because on the move-in day I tried to contact the local and 1-800 number 9 times and was on hold for a total of 1.5 hours and never got through to someone. I realize people are busy but there should be an option to leave a message and expect a TIMELY call back. The recording kept saying that 'someone will be with me shortly and calls are answered by the order received; honestly i don't think my call would have ever been answered. I have been in the facility whenever someone was waiting on a person at the counter and answered the phone, "U-Haul please hold' and didn't get back to them. This website said to contact the U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback.' I completed online registration to pick up my rental van from an unmanned facility but when I arrived at the facility, I was unable to pick up the truck. I called the customer service number but they were unable to resolve the problem. 1. The computer kept popping out of current screen back to the beginning. I had to keep giving the same phone numbers over and over again. 2. We were told the unit number was 1406 so we had unloaded about 1/2 the a 15' truck of stuff next to that location. However, there was a lock on the unit. I had to go back inside. I was then told that unit was occupied and I needed to go to unit 1122. We had to re-load and move all of that stuff over to that unit. 3. On returning the truck, I was not given any paperwork showing I had returned it. It was returned clean, in good condition, with the same amount of gas. Twelve hours later I still don't have a confirmation email. 4. My answer for question number six is no only because I did not have a third option. After having moved from one city to College Station we were tired and the inconvenience was significant.
