I was given a second floor storage unit with no elevator access. Had I known this prior to moving in, I would have found a different storage unit somewhere that didn't force me to carry my items up a flight or stairs. Closing out the transaction was lengthy. I dropped off at what I thought was my preferred location as recorded on my original request. Uhaul changed the drop-off location when my reservation was my updated. As a result the uhaul rep could not close the transaction and I had to email the service desk and call the 800 number to get this taken care of. All is good now.Robert T.

This store is really busy and really understaffed. There is always a long line and it takes too long for each transaction to occur. If you have a question and call the store you will be on hold for at least 30 - 45 minutes. I would love to recommend this place as the staff was very friendly and appeared helpful however, we dodged potential disaster because the hitch "tongue" on my RAV4 was installed in the "under" position and not the over which resulted in there being about a 2" clearance. Had a good Samaritan passing by not noticed, I can't even think what that haul would have resulted in driving a fully loaded 5x8 trailer behind my SUV with minimal clearance. As was pointed out by the gentlemen who corrected the oversight (both seasoned boaters and well versed in the ways of hitches, tows, and trailers). Being a self-announced rookie at all of this I feel this oversight was dangerous and negligent. I understand doing a job for doing a job but without critical thinking applied (as in "gee; this is riding really low; maybe we should make adjustments!") this could result in injury or worse. Also, there were two different type tires on the trailer and the tread on one was extremely worn. Please consider my words. I simply don't want someone else to be at risk with this same oversight. 1. Have more people working. Employees were both working the registers and hooking up / pulling up equipment. Was very inefficient and the line was very long. I waited at least 20 mins in line. 2. Have a minimum gas on rented trucks policy. The low gas light came on as soon as I drove off the lot. Not happy that I had to get gas twice for a 50 mile use.Thomas E.

Inside of cab was very dirty and did not appear wiped down whatsoever. I spent 45 minutes cleaning it myself. Not only due to COVID, but also because I was going to spend 4 days driving and wanted to feel comfortable. This is second time I've used the online app process. It's a good way to get and return the truck. There are several steps to follow including sending in pictures and entering your payment details so leave yourself a little extra time. I had an old and valuable antique oriental rug in storage. I recently moved into a larger dwelling and when I unrolled the rug there were larvae all over and a great deal of the rug was damaged, possibly destroyed. This was a family heirloom that apart from monetary value, had great sentimental value to me. I'm heartbroken this beautiful reminder of the home I grew up in and 3 subsequent homes of my own is so damaged. There was a reservation error. The centralized reservation system gave me lockers that didn’t exist at this location . I had a lot of stuff. The Tropicana staff worked fabulously with me during a very stressful time and gave me everything they had for space. The manager, James Beck, made things very reasonable in terms of cost adjustment. After being a loyal customer for nearly two years they decided to increase my rate, even though they still advertise and offer the same rate to people who are currently signing up. So they basically try to squeeze more money out of customers who have been there a long time, but continue to offer the same size unit to new customers for the price I had paid all along. I guess they are banking on customers being too lazy to move out. I called and left a message asking to discuss the issue with management and he never even took the time to return my call. Apparently U-haul is more interested in short-term profit than brand/customer loyalty. I found a very nice, brand new storage unit nearly twice the size (10x15) less than a mile away for basically the same price I had been paying U-haul. I may have no choice but to use the services of u-haul at some point in the future depending on where I am, but I can certainly tell you that it will never again be my first choice. I will shop around and likely pay more for a competitor's services if they are available before I ever resort to using U-haul again because I don't want to support a business whose business model is designed to "reward" customer loyalty with predatory practices.joshua m. | Overall Experience

We received two one month rentals after moving to the area but were told that we could only use one of those months because the first month would make us a customer voiding the second month. After finally agreeing to use one month we went after store hours to pick up some items from our storage only to find that there was a staff lock on our door with a sticker stating we were being locked out of our unit due to failure to pay. This was only 2 weeks after setting up everything with the one month free! When the staff put that lock on they put a second sticker on our lock, stating that it was an invalid lock yet it was the same style lock that the staff used to lock us out. At no point during any of this were we informed that the lock used to secure our belongings had to meet specific criteria. We were also never informed that we had been locked out of our belongings unit arriving after hours only to find we couldn't get in. As a result we were forced to make a last minute scramble to empty our belongings from the unit before the month ended.Carrie H. | Overall Experience
We have that unit for approximately seven years and never had any significant problems. We needed to downsize and there was not a smaller unit available at this facility so we had to go elsewhere. The only other issue that ever came up was I was in the hallway on the first floor just asked the office and sometimes they would have deliveries that were stored in someone blocking my entrance but the staff will always take care of it for me.ANDREW H. | Overall Experience
