LUIS P | First ImpressionsAbsolute trash service and product. I checked in at the counter where the associate told me he was new, no problem there. He sets up my reservation and as i asked about insurance, he couldn't answer a single question regarding coverage, how to add it, etc. Nobody else was in the store to ask. After he checked me in, I went outside to wait for him to bring the truck around. He hops out of it and says ''you're good to go!" and runs inside. My partner and I hopped in the truck and immediately got hit in the face with cigarette smoke. It was palpable. Ash was clearly visible in the cupholders, side pockets on the doors, as well as the ones on top of the dash. A brown sticky substance was on the ceiling (as I noted in the picture that I uploaded via the app), in the cupholder, and on the seats as well. Someone clearly had spit tobacco juice out of the driver window but failed miserably as there was a huge, nasty streak running down the whole of the window. We did our best to wipe everything down and move on. The next day as we hit sub zero temperatures, the windshield washer fluid dispenser quit working, we assumed it was empty. It turns out it was just cheap fluid not rated for cold temps. I know this because we opened the hood and added more washer fluid. After doing so, THE FUCKING HOOD WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT. The entire rest of the drive from Omaha to Coeur d'Alene, the hood vibrated up and and down, total safety issue. When we got to Billings, MT from Omaha and opened up the door, our luggage was absolutely covered in a thick layer of snow. The door was latched AND locked when we left Omaha so I have no idea how an inch of snow got into the first three feet of the truck. Fortunately it was so cold that it never melted and turned water and ruined our cargo. uHaul sucks. This is absolutely the last time my associate or I ever give you guys any kind of money.

Chris KThe drop location is the subject of this review. 9785 W US HWY 20 Angola, IN 46703 (260) 624-4466 I will start by saying that I did return the trailer an hour ago a half late, this fact cost me an extra $20, my fault and I own that, never tried to get out of it. When the paperwork was handed back to me I said to myself “yeah “ with a sigh, as I was upset with myself for being late. Apparently, the guy thought that comment was at him, he immediately turned around got in my face and said “yeah, what?” like he wanted to start a fight. Next thing I knew he was calling me an a-hole and he was going to charge me with a dirty trailer too, before he even opened it up. This guy was so angry he didn’t hear me say that I was upset with myself not him three times ( he was too busy cussing at me). He also stopped in front of me when we were walking, as I went to walk around him he pushed me in the chest with his elbow, this was caught on my trucks dashboard camera and yes, charges were filed and are pending. I also told the guy three times that I had just had back surgery and he wouldn’t tell me where he wanted me to put the trailer and made me unhook the trailer myself, not that it matters, I also let him know I was a disabled veteran and this is how he treats people. 9785 W US HWY 20 Angola, IN 46703 (260) 624-4466 In short, if you want to see the biggest chip on someone’s shoulder, are good with being cussed out, called foul names, threatened with more penalties out of spite, and assaulted, then this is your paradise and you have to spend some time with this jem of a personality that is in desperate need of anger management classes. Was literally sent to three locations before able to check the truck and tow Dolly that I delivered at U haul request before able to return the unit I was then charged a fuel charge of 23.00 after driving all over the place to deliver the unit. I will likely not use again.

AMBER KNo staff checked me in despite the location being open for business. I went to the office to confirm the return of the trailer and was advised everything was done and they would take care of everything. I returned the trailer on Friday evening, 11/29/2024 at 5:00 pm. The staff did not check-in the trailer until the middle of the following day causing another full-day rental charge.

HILLARY CThis location falsely advertised/allowed on their website a self-pickup for 8 am. It was not assigned a truck for the reservation, and after being delayed an hour (while I had movers on the clock expecting an 8 am truck) the workers took their time and chit chatted at the desk with little to no interaction with the paying customer. And just to be clear, I had made my reservation 2 weeks prior. Very poor way of running a business.

I mean, why not use a parking space and leave the isles clear for customers?

The property was so poorly maintained they were constantly dealing with situations that was out of their control. My unit ceiling fell in and was full of mice. They ruined tons of stuff. I was supposed to have rodent boxes put in my unit (the ones i had were empty) in June and come October they keep telling me theyre on order. They replaced the doors, with no noticed and removed everyones locks and put new ones on. I found out after hours when i couldnt get into my unit. The day i was moving out the unit a few down from me was moving out and they had their ceiling fall and there was a dead cat all decade in their unit. The layout is awful, the alarms on the unit didnt work and the only entrance/exit is on Wilmarudolph and difficulty to exit, especially when they park trucks in the lane.

Jorge C | First ImpressionsTerrible service at this location, walked into the office and no one was there, waited for about 20 minutes for someone to show up to ask about renting a unit. When someone showed up I asked to rent the smallest unit they had, was given a 5x10 unit and told it was $69 a month. No problem, paid for a month upfront. Went to the unit and fount that there was no lock in the unit like I was told and the roof was leaking. So I went back to the office and they moved me to an interior unit and told me not to worry about the $10 difference in the price, they would take care of it. Within 3 days of paying for the first month at the price I was given I started receiving emails stating that not only did I owe the $10 difference, but a $20 late fee. I went into the office 3 times to ask them to fix the account and remove their lock from my unit only to receive more emails and a notice of lien in the mail.

David V | Overall Experienceupon my initial arrival, seemed as if the staff was new as they were being shown how to do the move-in administrative tasks. got sent to the wrong entrance door and had to go back to the office; then when re-directed, went out to the correct door and was unable to open it, so went back to the office again and had my code supposedly "fixed"; went back to the door and still was unable to enter, so went back again to the office to complain. I was a bit upset having just driven 16.5 hours and having to repeatedly walk back to the office and wasn't as pleasant as I should have been, but the staff really needs to get their act together.

The day of move in I assign to unit 52 which was occupied, I was then given unit 87 which was also occupied. After 2 hours I was sent to the Providence location and assigned unit 110 which was also occupied. I was finally given unit 402 but nearly fell and broke my hip because the floor was soaked with wax and bug spray according to the staff personnel. The worse thing about my experience is that I made my reservation for a unit that was priced at 64.99 and because the properties failed to update inventory I am now being charged 30.00 more . I was forced to delay my departure until the next day and nobody thought to offer anything for my inconvenience.

The person before me made an insurance claim and they still tried to give me the unit when I ask for a new unit, they said that one other was available. We went to go look at the unit and it was already locked and issued to somebody. The location of this U-Haul and storage is not the best. I would not recommend anybody to go there.

I have had to throw away anything that was fabric. It literally had dead baby mice bodies in my children's box strings and clothing. I choose this unit thinking cause it was on Wilma in a busy part of town it would at least be pest and mice-free. IT WAS NOT!! I have left 2 messages for Management to call me back and have not yet heard from anyone. Were the rats traveled on the ceiling beams the insulation was coated in all my belongings 2in thick. I am out a very large amount of funds replacing all my mattresses lien, and clothing. I would recommend using only plastic totes to store anything here. The rats ate through all the boxes I had. I am truly heartbroken that I've had to replace everything while having to move this week. I would never recommend anyone placing their family items here at this unit.

Simply because of the way you price your equipment I will not be recommending it to anybody until it is fixed you need to have consistent prices throughout the year and that doesn't mean make everything more expensive throughout the year. Have some decency.

I visited my unit several times a year for nearly two years and there was always more mouse poop, fallen insulation, and spiders than my last visit. These units are filthy and disgusting and cost $15-$25 more than any non-Uhual nearby storage facility. A ludicrous five dollar price increase to “maintain superior cleanliness standards.” Military discount advertised on the website but I was told uhual doesn’t do military discount. I stayed there so long because it would cost more to move everything than to leave it be but with the very clear money grab from uhaul I decided moving elsewhere to be worth it.
