Very confusing reservation process. I had to repeat process on day of pick-up. Clerk could not tell me address of drop-off site. Just gave me the town and told me to call 1-800 for the address. The cashier needs to stop being on his personal phone while attending the client. It is rude and disrespectful towards the client. Ticks me off seeing that in front of me. I work attending the public in federal establishment and I would not dare pull out my phone in front of my client. Everything can wait when the client leaves.RICARDO R.
Everything was fine until I returned the truck. I drove a total of 14 miles in a 15 foot truck. The gas gage showed full when I picked up the truck and the paperwork stated it was full. I stopped directly in front of uhaul when I returned to fill up the tank. After driving only 14 miles I needed 6.379 gallons and $18.24 and I actually stopped filling when I reached that point. This works out to 2.19 miles per gal. The gage still showed full. I know the people at uhaul have no control about gas prices but their responses to me about the mileage results were basically to blow me off. Terrible, poor customer relations or service. I will certainly go somewhere else to rent a truck in the future. NOT THIS LOCATION!!!RICHARD W.

I only go to this location cause the availability of trailers that I rent often. This one example of many bad experiences. I'm only rating my experience as average because of my experience with a couple your employees. When I went to rent my truck and storage space in the morning, the employee who helped me was very professional, polite and helpful. However, when I returned a few hours later to unload the truck there were two younger men on staff and while neither one was particularly pleasing to work with, there was one who was extremely rude and unfortunately, this is the second time I've had this experience with this same employee. I had gone in a week or so earlier to inquire about pricing and this same young man was very impolite. Give a huge thanks to Branden. Rented an AT for one way trip but my vehicle to be towed was not ready. So I paid for a one day rental and was refunded the rest. Even though I didn't use the trailer I realize I had to pay for the day. Quick refund and I was on my way. Great customer service!Eric N.
I fully understand the importance of providing good customer service, but when you have a long line of customers waiting to be served and they are on a time restriction, it's not very professional to stop working on the computer just to carry on unnecessary conversations with the people you are assisting that has nothing to do with the rentals or sales and furthermore, you do not speak negatively about previous customers to your coworkers while in the presence of the next customer. Very rude and unprofessional. Some of the staff act like their faces might break if they smiled as you approach the desk.LISA R.

The staff did their job but I wanted to discuss a discount due to the horrible operation and condition of the truck. She did not give me a chance to even talk. She basically took the ticket checked in the truck and gave me a receipt. She was not rude but definitely didn't give me an opportunity to have my situation corrected. Your company should have asked how my experience was at the time so maybe someone could have fixed it. Also, renting the truck in the first place was a huge hassle. I couldn't get anyone to confirm the availability even though I called several times. And at the last minute they said they didn't have any trucks available and I had to drive over an hour to get one due to mistakes by your company. I was going to send an email but hopefully this information gets to the right department. I have never had a problem or complaints before this recent interaction. I'm usually happy and have no complaints when dealing with your great services, but this Saturday morning was just problem after problem. First off my initial reservation did not have either pieces of equipment. So my arrangements and schedule was already in trouble. After finally reaching someone online, the nearest location was about 25 miles away, which is just fine until the miles all add up 25 away from me then the 38 to my destination 38 back and 35 to return. I don't feel the mileage was fair in this situation. To add to the fuel, the truck was not changing gears properly so was stuck in lower gears so on higher way wasting even more fuel. Then while In traffic at stand still ac did not work properly and wouldn't cool. These small things may seem trivial but I assure you all added up on an important day for relocation was very troublesome. Then ad insult my bill was way larger than calculated. I rented an appliance dolly. I got billed for an appliance dolly and a utility dolly. The truck I rented was leaking water from the ceiling of the interior cabinet during rain. my arms, steering wheel, the whole dashboard, and my clothes got wet while driving inside the truck. Not even going to bother calling to get my money back on the utility dolly they billed me extra for. If I had to wait for more than an hour to get my truck that I reserved online. It'll probably take another hour just to get the $7 (+tax) back. Never using U-Haul from Brownsville Boca Chica again.YIWEN Y.

The service was so poor from beginning to end. I asked where I was supposed check in for a reservation and the guy working the front was extremely bothered. I was charged for the truck before I used it which was fine upon returning the vehicle I was being charged additionally, unfortunately the manager wasn't aware of what he was saying. Stating that my bank was fake and would return the funds after he charged me again. The charge eventually was only a few dollars more because he didn't know how the process worked which was that I pay for the rental and then pay for the miles used after. He tried to make me look suscrÃbales for explaining that ans he continues with the same statement. The bank isn't real and we don't charge before hand. I showed him the bank statement on my phone that wasn't pending it had gone through and the money had in fact been removed and insisted on charging me the same amount plus the mileage. She was extremely helpful, friendly, and made my experience a great one. World class customer service. The place was very nice. Two things frustrated me though. First, every time I was there, except at move out, there was only one employee and it took a while to get help. The second is I rented the storage space and then I got the uhaul to move my stuff. The place where I rented it said I would get my first month free with you. When I called I was told I had to rent the uhaul and then the storage space which makes no sense. I asked if I could discuss it with the manager. They took my information and I never heard back. We had a Check Engine light at the end of our first day's drive. I tried to reach the local store (after 9pm), which was understandable. There was not much for instruction on how to report. It didn't feel like a 'replace the truck' situation, but would have been nice to be able to talk to or report to someone at the time. Me and my children were removed from the uhaul because the drug dogs at the border checkpoint alerted to the front fender of the uhaul. All of our personal belongings we in our vehicle we were towing behind the uhaul. After searching my children, myself our personal vehicle and our belongings, the dog was still alerting to the front end of the uhaul. It took two hours before finally letting us go. I had just picked up the uhaul from brownsville, an hour before crossing the checkpoint. I was enraged at the experience my family was put through due to whatever was left in the fender of the vehicle. Contacted uhauls regional manager of that area for a refund. The location for the trailer pick up was great and the people were very helpful. The Uhaul mobile site was absolutely inaccessible and unusable for both the reservation and the return. The U-Haul rep who made my reservation also arranged my loading and unloading services for me from movinghelp.com. Initially for the loading, he chose an outside company that was way more expensive than his own company to deliver my u-boxes. I happened to call a day or so later to ask about something and the rep I spoke to on that conversation saw what he had arranged and was quite surprised. She switched it from the outside company to U-Haul and saved me around $350. But the worst part was that instead of the 3 u-boxes I had ordered, for the unloading service that the first gentleman had arranged, only two u-boxes were listed, despite my contract stating 3. So I ended up having to pay out of pocket for the third box to be delivered and unloaded when it was supposed to have been included in the original price. Plus the first unloading company that he had arranged for me, TNT, was the absolute worst. They were more than 5 hours late, they only showed up with one box, by the time they got back to the facility they could only get one other box because it was closed by then. The next day the guy did the same thing, was 5 plus hours late, didn't answer his phone, but at 10:23 p.m. I get a text message saying 5 minutes. Then he still never showed up. I had to call in the next morning and make other arrangements from a different company to get my third box delivered. So in essence, what was supposed to all be done for one price in one afternoon took 4 days and cost me an extra $165. Several items were damaged during transport, the worst being my motorcycle, which was in perfect condition before loading, I spent over $1,000 on it just 6 months before to get it in perfect tip top condition. So now I have to pay to have it towed and get it repaired out of pocket before I can get any sort of reimbursement from U-Haul. I would say also a very negative part is how long it takes to get a U-Haul representative on the phone, the minimum I waited for any phone call was 25 to 30 minutes. When you figure a dozen phone calls over the 3 weeks that it took for them to pick up my stuff and then deliver it, that's a lot of time waiting on the phone. Not a good experience.pam C.

This is the most unprofessional business I’ve dealt with. I use your company regularly, when I have to use this facility I plan on difficulties. I usually don’t make comments, however this time it was a pathetic display of business practices. I reserved a drive-up storage Unit. The employee acknowledged the reservation and charged my card. When we went to the unit, there was a lock on the door. He said he would be right back. When he returned he said “my manager said it’s rented out. I asked what does a reservation mean? He said I can call another place to see if anything is available. I said as long as it is another U-Haul. He said it was. When I got there, it wasn’t. Due to my time restraint I had to use that establishment. The same size unit cost 30.00 dollars more. I need to rent a truck on the 19th to move to Florida, I will now rent a Ryder because of this unprofessional dealings. I made an online reservation to limit the time I spend in the office/store. The person attending me must’ve been a new employee because he spent about 5 minutes looking for an existing reservation before he gave in and began a new one. I had already paid for my first month (aside from the free one) & all I needed was the key to the storage unit. He spent another 10-15 minutes on this before he tried searching for my reservation again. This time, he found it. He gave me my key, provided me with my receipt, & we went straight to the unit. Unit had dirt and small debris & when I asked if it could be cleaned out the employee said, that’s how they are. Also, the address on all my paperwork is wrong. I provided my address about 4 times & it somehow wasn’t recorded correctly. I called the office after this & spoke with the same guy. He said he’d correct it & update it online. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. But the storage room of 5x10x10 is too small and very expensive for that kind of size. It was not clean it has a lot of dirt inside. Location to far where I got my storage, kind of scary.Diana C. | First Impressions
