The guy working the counter was awesome. I was "that guy". Showed up with 5 min to spare, he had customers so didn't get to me till after closing. Without batting a eye he gave me top notch service, I doubt I could say I'd do the same. He was also there for drop and as I was waiting for the lady at the desk he appeared ready to help get me moving along quickly again. The lady at the desk was kind as well. The 'self serve use your phone' is a royal pain in the A _ _! To use it you HAVE TO have a smart phone, you HAVE TO have data or your stuck attempting everything on the Uhaul WiFi and therefore HAVE TO move the vehicle close to the building and it might work if you're lucky. The vehicles are parked at the end of storage unit rows which are often blocked by people with their vehicles accessing their storage. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! NEVER AGAIN!!!John SCOTT C.

U-Haul did a good job insuring that the lockers were secure and that no one could break into them. I wish the light would work in the room though. It was good that there was a washroom there but the soap dispenser was empty and had fallen off the wall. The garbage can needed emptying often. I never felt good with the lockers being made of wood. Anyone could move all their stuff out then later, walk in from the street and start a real barn burner without anyone knowing who did it. My previous storage areas were made of concrete brick or metal. This was the sole reason for my response of 'no' to question 6 above; otherwise it would be yes. Site for parking our jeep was just big enough to park, however there were 3 , 2-wheel rental trailers very close that had to be moved so we would have roon to back into our rental spot - #71. My husband and I moved a couple of trailers at the direction of a staff on a fork lift, who then moved the largest one which was too heavy for 2 peole to move,. There is a lengthy application to open an account online, you can't rent from the reception counter. We were accidently given the wrong key which was NOT for the van we were assigned. Therefore the kilometer reading showed over 200 km for a 2 hour rental. The receptionist managed to straighten it out. It was only 28 km. It would be nice to have a place within the compound to park one's vehicle during the term of the truck rental. I had trouble completing the online check-in. When taking photos of drivers license, the indicator just kept spinning and failed to upload. I had to have the process completed at the counter. The truck was dirty when I got in it for the first time, the photos were inaccurate. And when an unforseen circumstance caused me to not need the truck any longer, I returned it less than an hour later and the Manager wouldn't be accommodating and charged me for a full day.samantha R.
The van smelled and it was dirty inside. We had to check in online, wich was a major pain in the ass. Reason why we chose location with a person was to not do online check in. Had no visitor parking. When we dropped van off just after office hours. The parking was full, we had to leave van on city street. Dropping the key off was a pain in butt as the online system does not work. Could not do online drop off key nor call. Never again will I rent from uhaul. Top it off the file bill has charges that were never told to me and charges for things I never did. Although I had a great experience with the rental, I don't feel I was fairly charged for fuel consumption. I drove 114km and added 20L of fuel to the tank but had a ~10$ fuel surcharge added to my invoice. Although I believe this is possible with heavy footed/large tow load driving, based on the fuel economy of the vehicle and my driving experience in similar powered Ford trucks I have never ran up more than 25L of fuel per 100km.Mathew J.

Our storage unit was infested with rat feces and urine. Half of the things in our unit were ruined. The majority of the things were given to us from my dad and my Aunts estates after they passed away, so they were very sentimental to us. We were even told that there was a rat problem, from the employee. So they knew about it and never contacted any customers about the issue. We also know a few other people who store things there that had thousands of dollars stolen from there. We did not have insurance so we got no compensation for anything. Between us and our son we had 4 storage spaces there. We have only one unit left to clean out and we will never return there. We will be looking for storage elsewhere. Our one unit #145 was wet. It was on an outside wall (2 sides) and as a result all boxes up against that wall were wet and moldy. Our second unit #140 did not have this issue and all contents were dry and mold free.MACADAMS L. | Overall Experience
Unfortunately because of the some family health issues it took us a lot longer to be able to clean out our unit than we hoped. I believe it was about a year ago, may have been longer now. There were some break ins and stuff stolen from a few people’s lockers. (One happened to be our friend) Our one friend found paper left in his locker that had other unit numbers written on it and what kind of contents was inside. Our unit number was on this sheet and I’m not sure how they found out but they knew almost everything that was in our unit. Our unit was mostly keepsakes and a bike and a fan on the top but it also had electronics under all that stuff. Thankfully none of our stuff was stolen but the fact that they somehow got into our unit without a key is troublesome. The other part that worried me is that after all this happened and uhaul was informed of this and the police were called (all by our friend) uhaul never bothered to call and give us a heads up that we might want to check on our belongings to make sure everything was there. No call. No email. Even though our unit number was on the page and had an inventory of almost everything in our unit. For this reason I won’t be using uhaul storage unless it’s an emergency and I can’t get in anywhere else which is unfortunate because I had been with them for almost 5 years.Jami Z. | Overall Experience

The motor on my boat was stolen while in storage. I was called days after the theft. I was told the police were informed of the theft, they were not until I called them. The police were called but by another customer who had experienced a theft of his tools at the same time. The camera footage of the theft was unusable by the police, I was told by police the thief used a swipe card of another customer but everyone denied it. More communication with customers is needed. There were a series of break-ins in RVs at the facility, but U-Haul neglected to advise other RV owners to come and check their unit. As a result, water was allowed in my unit for a month, the floor rotted and the trailer is now a total loss. That is why I no longer need storage. More transparency from management would have allowed me to check in my trailer right away and maybe avoided the total loss.
