Trailer fender was falling off when picked up. Was charged insurance even though I opted out.Brian M.
The rental truck I reserved was suppose to be at another location closest to me but was moved to this location reasons unknown. I was notified less than 24 hours so I couldn't even search for another truck at the next closest location. As a result, I have to travel 6 miles to pick up the truck at this location. Because the issue is on U-Haul's side, I think the least they could've done was transfer the truck to the original location where I reserved the truck at in regards to services and improving services. With that said, "Dee" did a great job hitching the auto transport to the U-Haul truck and strapping my vehicle onto the transport. The additional $20 paid for this service was worth it. Truck was dirtier than the last Saturday I picked it up. Check tire inflation light was still on. Truck was on empty when I picked it up. (I understand that gas tank is to be returned at the level it was picked up) but the point here is what if you don't make it to the gas station to put some gas in it. the WHOLE point is it has NO gas in it so how are you going to return it like you picked it up if you never get to go anywhere in it because of NO GAS!Emily T.

I was given the option to do the return online, and once it was finished it asked me to leave the keys in the Dropbox - and there wasn't one. The employees inside told me that the return was supposed to be done differently and in person - not online. I just wish that I would have been given clearer instructions, but other than that everything was great.Valeria M.

The associate that helped me was texting and eating Wendy's fast food in front of me. I had to wait until she finished her text message before she helped me. She also lied about having the equipment I requested with the truck and I don't understand why. No one was at the truck return and I wait for 10 mins in the hot sun before I left it there. Have everything ready when the customer shows up to pick up the truck. The windshield was filthy -- I had to clean them myself to be out of it. The windshield wipers were really useless -- good thing it didn't rain on my trip. The cab smelled and was dirty -- I had to air it out. When I arrived and checked, I had to go get the truck myself. I then had to take it over to get the blankets and appliance dolly -- neither of which was ready. They told me they didn't have any blankets. After about 15 minutes they found some. This truck should have been clean, provisioned, and ready to go. It was not.Jay H.

I was charged a second day even though I returned the truck at 7:30 am in 23 hours just because they did not check it in until 2 hours later and the drivers side window rolls down but not back up so I burnt up as I drive because all the a/c went out the window as someone who rents 50 plus times a year I'd expect better service and accurate rental charges now. I called after I got the excessive invoice and was in terminal hold for about 20 minutes then was disconnected ! My time is valuable to me now I have to waist more of my valuable time chasing your staff to credit my account.Charles C.

Contract: 22498669 Cell #: 281-216-1899. Because the truck was not full when I picked it up I notified the drop people of that fact. I dropped off the truck at half full. When I went to the counter to confirm that fact the counter person did confirm I would not charged for the fuel. But yet I received my final bill and I am getting charged for 6 gallons of fuel = $33.92. I have rented 3 trucks from since April so I know how the fuel works when returning the trucks. This was an emergency use of U-Haul. It was fast, available, and I would highly recommend U-Haul to everyone I know! BUT......PLEASE POST ON YOUR FRONT DOOR WHERE THE KEY DROP BOX IS.....LIKE A MAP OF WHERE IT IS ON THE PREMISES. IT TOOK ME 50 MINUTES TO FINALLY FIND THE DROP BOX AND THAT WAS BECAUSE I HAD TO CALL SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHERE IT WAS ON THE PHONE!!! THIS WAS AT MIDNIGHT OR SO. Worst Uhaul experience ever. I rented a Uhaul at a different, closer location only 5 miles away. Got the confirmation email stating that my pick up/drop off location was in Grapevine TX. Got to that location at 9am day of go only to be told my truck was at a different location 20 miles away. No sympathy or apologizes, not text or call or even an email saying that the pick up location had changed. Not only that, but then I had to pay an extra $40 in mileage since the further location added another 40 miles to drive back to my apartment and return. Very glad I won't have to be renting a Uhaul anytime soon.Anna T.

They answered our questions, made updates as per our request, explained how to find and enter our rented units, after hours entry process. I am giving this rating only to the GM Josiah and his staff at the Carrollton location for going beyond customer service to assist me. I will only communicate and contract my moving needs with his location from this point The initial online experience in my truck and moving needs were horrible and cost me more money and wasted time. Online customer service provided me with a moving company that was 2 kids in a car with no packing experience. They had no tools or supplies to secure my things. UHaul chose the wrong size truck for my long distance move and the worst packing experience ever! I had to secure another truck to move and store my additional furniture and secure a storage unit locally so that I did not abandon my things. I will now have to pay for a moving box to bring my things to Florida after paying $2000 initially. Unless it happened to not be working, you no longer need to swipe your access card in order to access your unit. This was the reason I returned to this location. Whether myself or a thief opened my unit without my access card, an alarm would sound. I don’t see what’s keeping my unit secure now. Anyone could bust the lock and the staff doesn’t seem like they would do anything if they suspected a robbery. There are cameras but without an alarm, who’s to say it’s not their unit? Is there protocol for anyone to check? Staff is friendly, but there is no sense of efficiency. I reserved my unit online to avoid hassle. It took nearly an hour from the time I showed up to get my unit because nothing was ready for me. I was asked what type of locker I wanted when I’d already selected an upper 5x5x6. When I arrived, it was a lower. I had to wait in line again to get the correct unit. When I arrived to the new one, the zip tie was still secured, so I had to leave again to get it off. Thankfully I hadn’t hired movers or it would have been a costly wait, but I did have family help who had to wait on me when they didn’t plan on the delay. Any service request usually takes a while, but I stuck with this facility because the security was worth it. I think it is bad business to enforce a policy and have no recourse nor offer any grace to people in need. We went over on our monthly lease by 7 days because we had to leave town for a death in the family. So we were charged a full months rent for 7 days use. Yet UHaul would not offer any kind of a refund for the month. Not even partial. Nothing. I know it is in the contract but exceptions should be made for some circumstances and a death in the family would be one of them. And I have worked in IT for decades and know that every billing system has an override procedure so blaming it on the "system not allowing it" is just lying. If I am ever in need of temporary storage in the future, I will not be using UHaul.James D. | Overall Experience
Asked for late night access over three times, was told that I was good to go, showed up at 10:30pm to unload my stuff prior to work in the morning access was denied. Call the after hours GM no answer multiple times. Had to sleep in the truck at night, in order to go to the office at 7 AM and was Told “ what do you want us to do about it?” Then got a charge for going 30 miles on the truck because I couldn’t unload my stuff when I was specifically told I was good to go.
