Seeing that you don't rent out trailers after the store has closed I feel you should not charge a full second period unless the rental is not returned prior to the next time the store opens. When booking last minute prior to the Labour Day log weekend, we were quite concerned about availability. We reserved a truck on-line, but were told to call customer service to discuss the booking. You CSR was extremely friendly and professional when explaining the truck we booked could not be left in the destination city (i.e one-way). She explained that the return mileage would be covered if we could return it to the original location, which we did without issue. Thanks for making a stressful event much less so as we moved our kids to University!.CLAYTONM J.
Dropped off the trailer on time and was told a receipt would be emailed to me. Email was never sent. Called few days later and asked for the final receipt. Received receipt and was charged for a second day (indicating I was late returning). Had to call again and get the overcharge reversed. Worse experience ever. No appliance dolly, and I had reserved one. I had to drive across town to pick one up at another store and charged me that mileage plus gas with no compensation. The only thing I was disappointed in was that I had requested a dolly well in advance with my order, but I was told there is no dolly. If an order is placed, preference should be placed on the order and should not be based on first come first serve. The two gentlemen working in the location were not wearing masks in the building. When asked by another customer to put one on one of the two commented that they were not needed and did nothing. he said they were hot and uncomfortable to wear so they were not. We all have personal opinions about what is right but it is the law to wear a mask indoors at all businesses. I have a photo if you need it as proof as well.STEWARTM R.

The truck was dirty. The truck drove very badly; the steering handling was quite tough and not an enjoyable ride at all. The brakes were not sharp at all. The lady also had an attitude, but guess she may not have had her coffee that early in the morning. Overall, not a good experience for me and i used to run q Uhaul franchise up to 2019. Very poor installation quality. Wiring harness installed totally disorganized, zero effort made to properly route power cord from trunk to battery, parts left loose in hood, siding incompletely reattached in trunk. Will need to redo most of the work. Went to U-Haul because I expected better quality than I could do myself without a lift, instead paid for 1 hr of labour that definitely took no more than 30 min. Recommend installing yourself or asking your mechanic to do it, at least that gives you reliable quality at an honest price.Kevin C.
I was surprised that I could manage to drive safely a 15' truck from Burlington to Hamilton and return. Staff were great. I would never suggest calling this location however because no one answers the phone. I booked in person. I am in my 70's and the toughest part was getting in and out of the truck. I am 5'3". The expansion of locations is not well served by your software. It appears you need an overhaul in that department. It would serve customers if they could call and talk to their renter on the phone. Worst customer experience ever. U-Haul doesn't seem to understand the concepts of appointments, inventory management or that a central call center is useless if they take more than 30 mins to answer a call. Especially since after they answer they have no insight into the local situation & no idea how to resolve a situation or even help. To improve: Don't take orders & set appointments when you don't even have the parts in stock. Read your own work orders so you know the job that needs to be done & the parts required. Purchased a hitch & reserved an installation appointment online. Live in Mississauga & had to book in Burlington because it had an opening. The day before the install I get a call that they don't have the hitch, it's ordered from the US & they'll call me when it arrives. No one calls back & over a month I call at least 4x. On hold for an average of 45 mins each time & once I get someone live they don't know when the hitch will arrive. Threaten to cancel the order on my credit card, soon after I get a call to schedule the install. The day before this appointment I get a call that they need to cancel again because the installer is not coming in. I give them 2 options, get someone to install at the time they agreed to or give me a refund. 15 mins later U-Haul agrees to do the install. Was supposed to take 1.5 hrs, took closer to 3 hrs. They couldn't remove a bolt due to corrosion (fair enough) so the towing capacity is reduced by 500lbs or so. Despite not selecting the wiring package I get asked at least 3x if I'm getting the wiring package or told that the wiring will take longer. I'm only using it to mount a bike rack. They also forgot to give me the mount I paid for online. Luckily I noticed. Took well over a month after paying to get the job done. The only saving grace is that the staff at the location was friendly & they gave me a free pin for the mount for my troubles.Shawn F.
The UHaul location on Plains Road has a very small area available for parking and then reversing to hook up a trailer. Twice, I had to move because another customer needed my space to manoeuvre his vehicle. But, a small complaint only. In general, my rental of the trailer was very successful.Mark H.

My hitch was supposed to be put on Aug 3 -they cancelled my appt because they didn't have the hitch. Only when I suggested it ,did they try to source a hitch elsewhere. When we arrived for the appt on Aug 4 there was still no hitch . The work wasn't done for another 6 hours -we were told 3. When we picked up the car we were charged $35 more than the invoice/contract that had been sent to me. The people at the desk were never helpful or apologetic through the whole process.Kate G.

I booked my rental in advance I Hamilton and then uhaul called and changed pick up location, was told I still had truck for 24 hrs. When picked up truck they told driver that truck had to be back at 5pm. The truck was dirty, we had to clean it before we could use it.Jacques V.
I have rented many tow dolly's from this location as the staff are very helpful, however the equipment available to me was in very poor condition. There were three dolly's at the location; one was new and the others older. I asked for the new one and was told it was scheduled for the US the following morning. Of the remaining two, one had one of the safety chains missing and the strap ratchets on the other were in very poor, rusted condition which caused problems loading and off loading the car on the dolly. I was annoyed to find the "new" dolly still at the location when I returned the equipment. Your manager checked the strap ratchets and agreed they should have been replaced and offered a discount on my bill which did not happen. Better maintenance is needed.IAN W.

Staff tried to lie and say or storage booking didn't exist and that all the storage units were occupied. After minutes of explaining we indeed did book, randomly there was a unit available for us... I have been repeatedly overcharged for my storage unit from the beginning of my account use until after I moved out. The first month promotion from Uhaul was never honoured. I have made numerous attempts to contact the Aldershot location, by phone and email and my calls were never returned over the whole 5 month period. I even waited on hold for an hour to contact Uhaul central Customer Service, they tried to get in touch with the Aldershot location, and couldn’t get a reply by phone, then they sent an email to the location, and still the Aldershot location didn’t reply to the message from Head Office Customer Service. The Aldershot location continues to charge me even after I moved out, despite my numerous emails advising them that I’d be moving out, and to stop charging me. They placed a lock on my unit, and never removed it even after I paid excessive extra charges. The lock remained in my unit long after my account was fully paid, which prevented me from moving out earlier resulting in several additional months of unnecessary storage costs. When I had paid for and arranged a moving service to move out of my storage unit, I couldn’t access my storage unit for the moving company because the Aldershot still had a lock on my storage unit. This is the worst predatory business practices I have ever seen, especially during the pandemic, and with such a large International Company like Uhaul, this is completely unacceptable. Customers of Uhaul at the Aldershot location have been leaving very Negative Reviews of the terrible customer service and overcharges at Uhaul at Aldershot. I would like Uhaul Head Office to assist me with providing a refund for all of the amounts that have been Overcharged on my account by Uhaul Aldershot. Please have Uhaul Head Office contact me to resolve the unethical business practices of the Uhaul Aldershot location and their numerous overcharges on my account.
