Don't charge your customers for items they did not request; for example: dolly, blankets. Also make sure you and customer check the gas guage together as well as do a walk around in and out of the truck.

Explain that if a person is not there to pick up their vehicle at precisely the time said then they will give it away to someone else even if you're paying 24 hours, and the woman gave the analogy of "it's like a doctors office but with trucks", no it's not, there's only one doctor to go around so if you're not there on time they move to the next, whereas with trucks I reserved mine and wanted it for 24 hours so as long as the return time was the same, really what does it matter when I pick it up?!?!?

I know I rented the biggest box van possible so I wasn't expecting the smoothest ride, but it still seemed like it could use some suspension work or something. I'm not sure when everything on it was maintenanced last but I couldn't get it over 60 mph on the highway without it rattling the whole van, full load or not. Other than that everything was fine, truck was clean and the customers were satisfied. Thanks again.

I tried to use the 'app' to pick up the truck: total FAIL! Not only did the app NOT let me complet the transaction (but charged me for it) but then when I went in to the counter to get help they're two different systems and it took an HOUR to sort out. Staff were very helpful, app was not.

I reserved a 26 ft truck when I got there I told them that and they said i was wtong it was only 20 ft. so the They wouldn't Give me the twentysix for tracking another is to of him sitting outside They then started calling me exactly when I had my setup date for and explain to them that I ordered a twentysix which I can I check my email when I get home it was 26' that they only give me 20 sovs taking extra trips they harassed me daily and then the customer service lady said that she is calling ot in stolen and I hadnt paid anything even though they'd already taken $300 out of my when they said theyd wait untill returned account never using again. and now the want to charge late fees. They messed every thing up from the start.

I have rented from this particular location several times and surprisingly there was no line. There is usually a long line and not enough support people. This may have been because it was right near closing time but my biggest criticism of this location are the long lines.

I reserved a pickup truck online the night before. I came to the store at 9 a.m. as stated on my reservation, and I proceeded to wait 45 minutes to receive my truck! The lady behind the counter wouldn't even honor they guarantee statement that was framed behind the counter stating guaranteed time guaranteed date guaranteed equipment or you get 50 bucks. I waited 45 minutes and wasn't compensated. Inexcusable!

We went 11 miles the gas gauge said 3/4 but they said it was at 7/8 I put 10 dollars of gas in and then they still charged me 24 dollars for gas!

Make sure the vehicles go out with a full tank of gas so there isn't a question about how much fuel should be replaced as well being able to accurately determine if the store should or should not charge for fuel. The store represtatives could definitely benefit from some customer service coaching. At minimum look at the customer, maybe smile once and most of all say thank you. Even if you don't love the job they should be reminded that if the customers don't come in then they won't get paid.

This is the 2nd time this week Alaska Sound Celebration rented at the Seward Hwy location to move our chorus risers. I got both trucks quickly, clean. One had less than quarter tank of gas & had to gas before going downtown, but other had over 1/2 gallon and kudos! Both these trucks handled well since backing up into small delivery spaces was critical for performances. Thanks!

I had to sign a form saying I accepted the fuel gauge level, and to fill up when I came back. It was the end of the day, and I needed to run. The computers were unbearably slow. Finally, my paperwork was ready, and I had two gentlemen with me raring to go get some furniture. After driving a few miles, I noticed the fuel gauge was near empty. Just to get to my destination, I put in $20 of gas fully knowing what I was coerced to sign. I turned the truck in after hours. Today, my credit card was billed for $53 to fill up the tank. I am mad. I will go see that dealership tomorrow, and ask that I get my money back because charged me to fill up the tank - they should have filled up the tank I hope someone will read this because it reflects badly on UHaul.

Know it is small but having a lock furnished with a key was great. After partial loading the van for the night we had forgotten to grab a lock, was pretty sweet to realize one was provided. The guys and lady who checked me out and in were fantastic. Great customer service!!

We had poor service from an older gentleman. The day was saved by Roosevelt and Tracy! They were very helpful. They were busy and short staffed but they were still going out of their way to help customers (offering cough drops or water to someone who was coughing) they also were trying to cheer up their grumpy coworker. Tracy was sick but still super pleasant. I observed above average service not just for me but for the other customers there while I waited on my husband.

Employee named Roosevelt Washington or something last that: 1) someone walked in 5 minutes after closing, asked for something, Roosevelt told an employee to just tell that person they were out of that item because it was after hours and he didn't want to deal with it. Cared more about himself than the business. 2) When I returned my vehicle, Roosevelt saw someone familiar standing behind me in line and helped that person before me despite it being clear I was in front of that person. Roosevelt needs to get fired.

In the number of times I have rented form this location, I have never had this much trouble renting a truck. From the CRS not giving me all the lease papers to start with, to billing my card for individual days when I specifically asked to pay cash at the end of the lease, to the roof of the box truck leaking and my boxes/items getting wet, to having my card charged before my lease was totally completed and being told my lease was on 'suspension' until a Manager could contact me to find out how things progressed to my card being charged at all when I had told CSR several times I wanted to pay in cash at the end. By billing my card daily this created over drafts at my bank since I was not expecting the UHAUL rentals to be withdrawn daily from my bank account. ... how to improved better educate your CSR's to know what they can and cannot do for a customer and not make false statements of when billing happens. I started attempting to arrange retrieval of a U-Box I had in storage at about 10AM. The person I spoke with told me to expect a call from one of two people within an hour for confirmation. Four (4) hours later I called again because I had not been contacted. The person I spoke with had no information about my earlier request. I was transferred (and waited 10 minutes for a human to answer) to another person who also had no information, but they transferred me (with another 5 minute wait) to another person who informed me that I had to talk to the U-Box department and transferred me (with another 5 minute wait) to a number that eventually just hung up on me. I had to drive across town later in the middle of the afternoon to speak directly with someone at the site who wrote a message on a yellow letter pad and taped it to a wall for the forklift driver to retrieve my box the next day. This is not the first time I have had this type of experience dealing with the communication system at U-Haul. I did get my U-Box by about 10AM the next day, as anticipated. This lack of communication across the corporate structure is very frustrating. I hope this is something that will be fixed soon. Thank you for taking care of the goods I have entrusted to your safe storage and ultimate transfer to a new city.

The site is small and cluttered but still navigable. The entrance to storage buildings is on an incline and there is a huge metal plate in the floor which catches the wheel of the cart, so I had to lift the cart bottom while someone pushed. Very awkward and impedes ease of access. Also, having to climb11 steps to my storage unit is NOT on the first floor. This is second floor so be sure to tell people that. It would be really helpful if people were told about the double code entry as well. That was super frustrating. Staff was very pleasant however.

Always take pictures. No one checked the fuel gage and I couldn't wait. So I snapped a pick of the mileage with the fuel gage before leaving and when I returned. If I hadn't done that, they'd have charged me more because they assume all vehicles have full tanks. And also always go in to turn in a vehicle. First time I didn't go in because I was told it wasn't necessary and they called me the next day accusing me of keeping their vehicle. This was only my second time and I still have not had a good experience renting their vehicles. But at least I went in and so they know the truck is returned. And the pictures saved me from being wrongfully overcharged.

My guaranteed reservation was not suddenly available. Had to end up with a truck and a trailer that cost me over 150 dollars more, sent in a complaint and expect to be refunded the difference,

I am rating my experience today as below average, due to several issues that arose. first of all there were some warning lights on in the dash. I spoke with a representative before leaving the lot and he assured me that it was fine, they were aware of them. The visor on the drivers side did not have a way to hold it in place, so every bump in the road dropped the visor in front of your face blocking your view while driving, annoying. When I returned the vehicle, the young man that checked me in said, since I had the rental done on my credit card, that I did not need to go into the location and that they would email me my receipt. I thought I should go in and said I had estimated my miles at 20 and said I am not sure if that was accurate, the young man now in the drivers seat of the truck looked at the mileage gauge and said " you are good." So I took my paperwork and left. 10 minutes later I got a text by AMX that my card had been charged an additional $26.86,by UHaul, which mystified me, but on reaching home, I pulled up my receipt in my email and it appears I was charged for a total of 54 miles driven. Which I dispute, I mapped the route from your location to my home at 11300 Jerome Street to Dimond Greenhouse on Dimond Blvd and back to your location, which is exactly what we drove and my map app says the total miles are 14.9, so someone screwed up somewhere with the posting of the miles. I checked out the vehicle at 12:58pm and returned it at 2:47pm hardly enough time to put 54 miles on. I rent with you every spring and fall for the express purpose of transporting my plants between my home and the greenhouse. And each time 20 miles has been more than enough. I immediately called to speak with someone regard this discrepancy and got a nice young lady at your call center, she took the info, name and number and said she would have someone from the location call me. That was at 4pm, I called back and got another call center agent at 455pm explained again the issue, and that I wanted to talk with someone TODAY, since no telling where that vehicle might go tomorrow, knowing that they closed at 5pm, and I was still waiting for the initial call, I told the agent I wanted a call back before they left for the day. No return call was made to me regard my issue, nothing! I will be on the phone first thing tomorrow again trying to get this resolved. Very disappointing! Christine Monette 907-349-8411

There is never any gas in the vehicles. Four in the last week. Also three trips to take care of the same issue is unacceptable. An hour to pick up a U-box because the staff can't figure out the computer system is also unacceptable. I'm really glad I don't have to deal with this place again.

Making reservation and renting was very easy and pleasant. But truck had broken window clank handle and not usable. Person handling return paper work was very slow and trying to persuade me to leave and I did. Return mileage was not recorded correctly. Actual mileage was 126994 but mileage on the receipt was 126999.

It took 40 minutes from time I arrived to when I actually got truck and was able to go. Even though I did express online check-in AND all my info is in your system (I've rented many times) I still have to stand in a long, slow and inefficient line to do paperwork and sign and pay (all of which you already had and I had already agreed to and signed online) AND then I have to go outside and wait 20 more minutes for the yard guy to get to me and then pull out the truck. And the blower fan didn't work in the truck. And the drivers door window seal leaked rain like crazy. Bad service, bad equipment, as usual.

I picked up the 15' truck and expected the $10 stack of blankets to be inside. When I got to the place to move items, we had NO blankets so I called them. It was too late to go back and get them so I just wanted my $10 returned. Upon returning the truck the guy said they would take care of the receipt via email. I called the next day, and I still have NOT received my $10 back. I'm very unhappy with how they said they'd take care of it then it has been ignored.

The after hours check out app did not work well. I tried to check out for 15 min without success. I could not get passed the page where I was supposed to map my location. I'd select "map my location" but nothing would happen. It was very fusterating. However, the customer service rep was very helpful at 10:15 pm. My overall experience was great, the app just needs some tweaking.

When I checked out the 15' truck for a one-way trip from Anchorage AK to Whitehall MT, I was not given the opportunity to do the inspection on the truck before leaving. I spoke with the service manager and he put inspection stickers on the damages before we left.

Truck was in poor repair. Steering was loose and wandered, brakes were marginal at best. Location took a long time to locate the truck, then called me the next day and hassled me about bringing the truck back at 24 hours from the original reservation time, rather than an hour later, which was when I was finally was able to leave with it. If I pay for 24 hours, I should get 24 hours.

I received 2 emails letting me know my ubox container had arrived at the pick up location when it was still at the port. Your system obviously needs some tweaking. Also the staff I spoke with were not very apologetic about the miscommunication. Yes my box arrived on time but it made things confusing to get emailed false information. I rented an Auto Transport and a pick-up. I believe the trailer had a prior flat tire. In that, while driving on a straight stretch of road the tire went flat. Upon inspection I found what appeared to be a plug type fix. When I arrived at the store to return the truck and trailer I told them what happened and they treated me with the utmost of concern and respect. I definately will use this location again.

After calling two days ahead to confirm my pickup date/time, and receiving a confirmation text message from Uhaul to pick up at 10am on 8/9 - we arrived at 10 to learn they had NO Uhaul for us-in all of Anchorage. Customer service was AWFUL! Asst Manager finally came about noon, said they could only discount $50, 5 hours later, they found a 17ft Uhaul and small trailer that fit half of the items we had made arrangements to pick up. We were 5 hours behind on picking up our stuff and raced to the ferry, not even taking time to eat a meal. Barely made it to the Whittier tunnel before it closed, had to pay extra for the Uhaul ferry that was half the size, we were exhausted and stressed out to the max. The whole experience was terrible. Previous manager was a big help on previous trips, but she is not at the counter anymore. This could have been a disaster for our business, and it was so stressful it will be hard to trust Uhaul again. If I had treated customers like this, I would have given them a totally free invoice. We do a lot of business with Uhaul, and this was extremely disappointing.

The young woman worked bf he front in, in my opinion, was very unprofessional. She knows her job well but she doesn't carry herself as a proud worker. Her use of foul language and demeanor were also very unprofessional. The gentleman that was helping me kept having trouble with the computer and attached equipment and didn't know how to fix any of it. I waited at the counter for an hour trying to get just a 10' van. The second gentle man that helped me once I had my paperwork done was very helpful. He kept doing what he could to get me on my way as quickly as possible. He was the only employee there that seemed to want to get customers in and out as soon as possible. He did his job very well.

The engine light was on in the truck from the time I picked it up, which made me a little nervous. I didn't go far (under 10 miles) so I wasn't too worried (and I didn't end up having any trouble) but probably would have requested a different truck if I was going a long distance. I LOVED the mobile check in (and would have done the return online but the guys were so quick to come out when I pulled up that there wasn't a need). That definitely sped up the process! I'll definitely use that feature again and recommend it to others.

I have rented from this location numerous times this year alone, and each time the service and equipment get worse and worse. This time after waiting over 30 mins to pickup the truck as the location stores the trucks in the back so you are unable to use self pickup, the truck reeked of smoke. Despite returning the vehicle with the correct fuel i was docked a whole 1/8 tank. I think i will be taking my business elsewhere here on out.

I reserved the uhaul 2 months prior to move date and the fee went up from 1800 to 2500!! Ridiculous then I checked in prior to pick up online and recieved a?email saying the truck was ready , when I got there to pick up they did not have my reservation , they were not ready for me at all!!! They did have a truck that just came in so I had to wait for them to check it in to the system then check it out to me. The truck was filthy!!! Food all over in the inside and was covered in bugs you couldn't see out the window!!! So then I asked has it been serviced? I was driving from Alaska to Oregon! They said it was fine! Thankfully we didn't have any problems on our trip but I had to clean it mysel and that took me an hour at least to get it clean to be able to see out the window and sit in the cab! Very disappointed in my experience , I was charged and additional 700.00 and then had to clean it!!!! I honestly feel that I should be reimbursed for my time to clean after someone else!!!! Very Unprofessional. I would not recommend going through this location ever again or uhaul at this point, the extra fee for summer that I was charged was wrong!!! 700.00!!! Really!

One issue that occurred was no- ticing mileage on odometer NOT in agreement with mileage re- corded on contract. Examine vehicle before signing contract as I was billed for mile- age NOT driven. Need to discuss with Brianna as actual miles driven was 10 miles less! Distance from dealership to 22nd Ave off Wisconsin, one block from Benson Blvd or some 5 miles from rental location and back. Shared with UHAULcheck in agent mileage disparity, but see- ing contract charges reminded me of problem. Traveled out of state where I choose very limited internet and shut off cellular data to cell phone for 30 + days

They chipped out mud and removed trash, but didn't sweep, leaving a dirty mess. We had to clean before we could use it to move. Not the first issue with this location.

I feel that when I rent from uhaul, there are always extra costs not mentioned until you are there to get the truck. I was told the insurance would be $10.00 fr the 24 hours I had it; however was charged 20,00. Then there are two environmental charges, these add up so in reality it is not just the 19.99 for truck and .99 per mile, which by the way is ridiculous. I have rented uhauls in AZ and the mileage was unlimited. THe staff were great, the way time very appropriate, it is the built in cost that are disappointing.

The truck smelled like old alcohol and sweat. I drove with the windows open. When I picked it up, the staff was not welcoming at all. She was mean and pushy. I'm glad it didn't take long to leave. When I returned the truck, the staff was friendly, disorganized. the guy reached around the customer he was helping, took the key and said I would receive an email with my receipt. I left town. I got back to Anchorage and had a message on my phone, from Karen, looking for the truck I was supposed to have returned "yesterday". I called first thing Monday morning, to talk to Karen. She documented my statement, yet couldn't find the truck. She said she would try to resolve the mix-up and call me back. I called back 3 hours later and talked to "Tracy". they still had not located the vehicle. I then got off work, picked up my child from childcare, and drove there to talk to someone in person. The gentleman said "he checked me in and that my "credit" would be back into my account soon. I DO NOT THINK I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED. I could not focus on my work, because I was worried that I would somehow be charged for this incident. I think they owe me, the trouble with their customer service, was Karen just did not believe me, that I returned the truck Satuday--BEFORE my 24 hours was up!!! ugh !!

She didn't mention much about drop off however... Drop off was less than satisfactory. The "my uhaul" website would crash after each photo was taken, starting me back to the beginning. Glad I showed up 30 minutes early to drop of because I sat outside for that time trying to return after hours on the website. After no prevail I called (thank goodness someone answered!!!) and she was very helpful in walking through. Called a few days later for an explanation of charges and the general manager (forgot her name, sorry) called back within the hour to explain. Thanks for the help!!

I reserved the uhaul and auto transport 2 months prior to my departure date. The Wednesday before leaving they called and said they wouldn't have truck until the 27th, I explained to them that won't work as we were driving from Anchorage to Oregon and had plane tickets out of Oregon and really needed to be on schedule. They called later that day and said we were back on track. That Monday I'm there at 7 am only to find out we had no auto transport. So the next day about 3 they called with auto transport. We get to Canadian border and notice that the man from uhaul didn't secure my truck to auto transport correctly. The tire straps were off and only one safety chain is on the front, so we had to wait until 10 am the next day for a place to open to have someone secure the vehicle. We're off driving the Al-can and get to US border and are held there for hours because our auto transport is reported stolen out of Massachusetts. We get that cleared up and get to Bend and drop the uhaul off. The guy tells me to just leave the keys in it and they'll email a receipt. 21/2 days later they call and said " can you drop that auto transport off in this other city" I informed them that I dropped it off two days earlier. They hadn't checked it in yet. The service was bad at all locations, and all the time we lost was all because of uhaul. The stress of the ordeal nobody should have to go through. I'm very disappointed!

Only real issue I had was with the truck. The seatbelt sensor didn't work properly so even if your seatbelt was fasten it would alarm at you reminding you to fasten your seatbelt. I picked up my rental with approximately 3/4 tank of fuel. I drove 11 miles and put 2 gallons in the truck before it's return. This morning I read my receipt and notice that I am being charged for 1.5 gallons of fuel! I was worried something like this might happen, so I took a picture of the gauges after driving one mile. Initially called UHaul for availability and ended up making a reservation so that we were guaranteed the size truck we were looking for. The over the phone reservation was pretty quick. Having the reservation made pick up easy. We were not planning to use the after hours drop off so I didn't even ask about it when we picked up the truck. We ended up being done earlier than expected and decided to get the truck dropped off. We just used the detailed information about the after hours drop off provided in the paperwork from pickup. My final bill had already been emailed to me first thing the following morning. Everyone at UHaul was very friendly and helpful.

Biggest/most well known Uhual dealer in town. The facility is actually very nice. The parking lot is a little crowded with uhaul vehicles/trailers. The truck we were given is OLD and RATTLING and the cab is well used, to be nice. There is a HUGE chunk missing out of the seat! It did not present well. Staff was nice and friendly. While I'm sure I will end up using them again, that vehicle needs to be retired. I have rented in other states and the trucks/vans were VERY new - clean, had backup cameras, nice radios, better clearances, more comfortable cabs...

Trailer was the wrong one. It didn't come with a ramp like I requested and promise. They just sorry it's all we had. I had to load heavy cases in it with out a ramp which increased my load in and load out and was hard on our backs. Plus this trailer had a corrugated deck which was hard to load wheeled cases in it. And to top it off this trailer doesn't have a jack to assist you lifting up the front off the hitch off of the receiver. U have to jerk up the front and hurt your back lifting it off the hitch. Over all very disappointed. That last rental trailer had a ramp , better deck, and a trailer jack to lift up the front. Not Happy at all. Our backs our all hurting from lifting the heavy road cases.

The van was great, the process quick and the staff friendly. However, the attendant told me my dropoff time was 2pm, but when I called at 1:15pm to extend my reservation I was told my dropoff was actually 1pm, which meant I was late and had to get transferred to scheduling to extend my reservation. My contract did say 1pm in fairness to the attendant, but if you tell me 2pm to my face I assume you mean 2pm. This was my only problem.

I rented a 15' box truck and the following issues were a cause for concern: inoperative windsheild wipers, grinding brakes, crooked steering wheel, and moderate pull to the left (alignment). Aside from the previously listed problems there was also trash and greasy gloves left in the cab. When I made a formal complaint no discounts were offerred, neither was a simple apology. I have rented u-hauls various times over the years and have had alot of issues that I never complained about in a survey, but this was a complete outrage.

Advertised rate of $19.95 per day for a pickup truck is meaningless with a 99 cent a mile mileage rate. Sort of a "get them in the door and then sock it to them". I would rather see a higher flat daily rate and a lower mileage cost. That being said the truck worked well and rental in/out process was friendly and smooth.

The insurance option coverage should be explained in detail better. I was not informed that it would be charging me $14 a day for the insurance. I thought I was signing up to have a $28 coverage for the time I have the vehicle. That was a flat $28 to include any extension of days having the vehicle in my possession. So it's not actually $19.95 a day it's closer to $34 or $35 a day because I got the insurance. And that just kind of stinks, not really having that explain to me more clearly.

The mileage was wrong when I checked the vehicle out. I went back to the counter to have it corrected. The attendant acknowledged the error and initialed the change. However, my final bill did not reflect the correction. I appreciate having a place that will rent vehicles for moving things that don't fit in my personal vehicles, but I've never had a good vibe about the Old Seward location. If there was a choice in Anchorage, I would rent elsewhere.

The truck I rented had 3/4 of a tank of gas. I was required to return it with at least 3/4 of a tank. I think when renting, a full tank should be in the truck. If its not then a credit be given. Its much easier to fill the tank full. I ended up returning the truck with 7/8 full. SO someone is getting free gas from me.

Customer Service was Adequate, Not Rude or Disrespectful but definitely not friendly or service-orientated. I just got the feeling that I was inconveniencing them. Once I drove my Uhaul to the destination where I would be doing my packing, I shut the vehicle off for a half-an-hour tops, came back to it to start it up again to move it down the street, and it was dead. The lights had been left on, which I didn't turn on myself seeing as it was broad daylight, but apparently less than a half an hour was enough to kill this battery dead. I tried calling Roadside Assistance TWICE, it disconnected/dropped the call both times after 15 minutes before I could talk to anyone. Eventually ended up using the online uhaul.com/help report function which was nice and simple, but gave you literally NO idea how long the Assistance would take, all it said was "This browser page will update in 30 seconds and we'll call you" but it never updated. We were crunched for time, so we just ended up jump-starting the battery ourselves, and I'm glad we did, a few hours later Roadside Assistance called from a random number in Arizona to follow up on my request, GLAD WE DIDN'T WAIT AROUND! The Uhaul inside was LEAKING from both sides onto our stuff. We had water on our mattresses and our boxes, TERRIBLE! When I checked my Uhaul back in I was met by Technicians/Mechanics (I'm not sure who they are, they didn't introduce themselves and looked pretty disinterested in everything that was happening around them) I made sure to tell them about the battery/leaks so the next person wouldn't have to deal with that, the guy just mumbled and said "ok" and walked away. I was charged extra for not filling up the tank adequately enough, but honestly, I moved a roundtrip of 3 miles maybe...the gas I used up was leaving the truck running after I jumped the battery... I put "Not applicable" when asked on this survey if I'd recommend this location again. I would NOT, but since we have limited options here in Alaska, it's probably the only bet besides hiring professional movers. After this experience however, I'll probably hire local movers

The U-Haul that was given seemed to have a lot of mechanical issues that should have been fixed before being loaned for use. The alignment was pulling to the left, the breaks did not work properly (the rpm's when breaking and accelerating would drop and then jump quickly and vis-versa.). When this was brought to the attention of a worker, they said, "Unfortunately we rely on our customers to tell us when something is wrong with the vehicle." That is incredibly concerning, as it makes it sound like the vehicles don't have checkups/are not maintained. As a customer, I don't believe it should be my job, or my safety risk, to inform you when there is an issue. Granted, the issues I had with the U-Haul were minor other than the breaks, it is scary to think that I could have had a vehicle where the breaks didn't work at all, and it was up to me to report that after I had been loaned the U-Haul.

Overall good experience. I was pleased to see some protective blankets for furniture included in the trailer rental, I was not planing on getting them but they came in very useful. My only complaint was that service was a bit slow, all the staff were busy so I was waiting for a while to get the trailer. I eventually found the trailer myself and started to hook up on my own when someone saw me and helped me get setup and properly secured. That said, all the staff were friendly and overall it was a good experience.

WE NEVER EVEN SAW THIS LOCATION!!! THIS WAS DROP OFF WHERE WE PICKED IT UP!!! Everything about this experience went sour. First we were given the incorrect rate that they did honor. We made arrangements a week in advanced repeating exactly what we needed and the time frame we needed the truck yet we were slapped with another surprising 54.00 dollars! We explained what we need repeatedly and from what I see know one knows what there doing or how to relate the prices or services to customers. Truck had 1/4 tank of fuel left, so I filled it up and returned it with 1/2 tank with no reimbursement. I would suggest simply implementing a "Full to Full" fuel policy on your rentals, so that way people only pay for the fuel they use.

Felt like an annoyance to staff including the owner. When checking the vehicle out brought up and issue with fuel level and was made to feel like an idiot. The fuel gauge took about a minute to reach the full indication. How to improve retrain the staff with customer service training. Every single one of them.

I had pre-scheduled my rental and even called in the same day to see if it were possible to get my rental box truck early that day. When I arrived there was a gentleman being helped that was a walk in that rented the same size truck. his truck was cleaned off and ready to go almost immediately. When my truck arrived, I had to clean the vehicle off of snow that was probably 3-4 inches deep (this is not an exaggeration). This is after I waited about 20 minutes for my truck to be pulled up. I had to repair the ramp as it was EXTREMELY difficult to pull out and wasn't possible to push back in. When I picked the truck up it was on 1/4 tank of fuel. I don't know if this is standard practice or not, but I fully expected a full tank of fuel. Obviously I would have returned it with a full tank of fuel, instead I had to guess how much fuel to put in to get it back to 1/4 of a tank. Also, in our weather climate, having bare metal flooring does not work well. It is a liability as getting up and down and the step, walking inside the truck, or getting up and down the ramp is dangerous! Is there nothing that U-Haul as a company is willing to do to try and remedy this? I understand that there is a cost in having different flooring inside, but I can't imaging there not being a safety liability. As a customer, I would gladly pay a few extra dollars for the rental to help absorb the costs for having more suitable walking surfaces. On the whole, I had to get a rental truck. The cost was very much agreeable. It got me from point A to point B. The interior of the cab was clean. My experience was less than desirable. If there is another place in town that rents trucks for hauling, I will definitely look into them before using U-Haul again.

Have the vehicles warmed up at little bit more before the customer arrives. Start up the truck fleet once in morning and once in the afternoon to get the oil going through them so it does not take as long to warm up when a customer is there to pick up the truck. Wishful thanking in a perfect world but U-Haul does a great job and provide very good customer service.

THIS WAS THE WORST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. WHEN I RESERVED THE UHAUL, THE LADY OVER THE PHONE WAS IN SUCH A RUSH TO MAKE HER COMMISSION THAT SHE SPELLED MY NAME COMPLETELY WRONG AND RUSHED ME OFF THE PHONE, SHE DID NOT LET ME PICK OUT THE PLAN I WANTED. I PICKED UP THE UHAUL AND WAS GIVEN A REALLY CRAPPY WORN OUT UHAUL, IT WAS DIRTY AND FREEZING COLD. I USED THE UHAUL AND NEEDED IT FOR ANOTHER DAY, SO I CALLED AND ASKED TO KEEP IT ANOTHER DAY, THE LADY SAID YES AND SCHEDULED ME TO KEEP THE UHAUL ONE MORE DAY. THE NEXT DAY CAME AND I GET THESE THREATENING VOICEMAILS SAYING I OWE THE UHAUL BACK AND THAT I AM BEING CHARGED ALL SORT OF LATE FEES. IT TURNS OUT THE LADY NEVER SUBMITTED MY INFORMATION TO KEEP THE UHAUL AN EXTRA DAY & THE COLLECTIONS GUY CAME AND GOT THE UHAUL. IT COMPLETELY RUINED MY MOVE & I HAD TO THROW AWAY A LOT OF FURNITURE THAT I NEEDED TO MOVE ALL BECAUSE THIS STUPID LADY DID NOT PUT IT IN THE SYSTEM THAT I WAS KEEPING THE UHAUL ANOTHER DAY. EVEN THOUGH I CALLED AND SCHEDULED TO KEEP IT ANOTHER DAY! ON TOP OF THAT I GET LATE FEES! BECAUSE OF THIS INCOMPETENT PIECE OF SHIT. I WILL NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN. EVER.

The tires on the truck were NOT safe for driving on ice and snow. I have been driving on these conditions since 1969. I had trouble with the van. The vehicles really need to have winter/studded tires.

Keep fuel filled to max. Was given fuel tank at 15/16ths. It is impossible to stop the pump exactly at that mark and thus uhaul is getting free gas. This does not look good in the eyes of the consumer and is a VERY underhanded move.

Moving van was damaged dirty ice on windowsshield. I had to use my personal ice scraper to clean windshield in order to see and drive vehicle off the lot. Vehicle ran and got the job done. So I guess that's all that matters. Front counter lady was nice and helpful.

The truck was not suited or equipped for winter travel in Alaska during the winter. The tires were not studded or siped, there was no tire chains provided with the vehicle yet the store knew I was traveling from Anchorage to Seward which is 135 miles away through numerous mountain passes and hilly/mountainous terrain. I am a commercial driver and the under steer with poor tire traction front and rear led me into a dangerous drive.

The truck smelled like there was a dead body rotting in the back of it for months, and I'm supposed to put my furniture in it? So that terrible smell can absorb in my belongings? Worse experience of moving in my life. I'd die before renting from them again. I'd never recommend it to someone else. Every time a mover or myself went into the back of the truck we would start gagging on the lingering smell. We sprayed Lysol all over the back, slightly covered the smell for seconds. We weren't even offered a discount, when we called and complained the best they said was "you won't be charged for it." What kind of bullshit is that? The workers don't even care, nor direct me to a manager which makes me feel management doesn't care. I'm ashamed to give my money for this rental and if I didn't have a card in file I wouldn't have paid for it. You will never have my business again Uhaul.

Make sure the internet system works. This is about the fifth time I registered on line and did early check-in and i have to go through the whole process at the desk. No benefit for going online. Also I really hate the .99 per mile charge.

The back roll down took two people to get it to close. The transmission was having issues. The passenger door made a loud sound when opening due to a large dent. Inside the cab was filthly. The only good thing was that the gas mileage seemed to be pretty good.

Delivery on both ends was great. Though straightened out in the end, the final billing process was a bit confusing, possibly because multiple sites were involved. Too, I was given no limit on what could go into a U-Box, so I was surprised when I was told that the U-Box was too heavy for the U-Haul forklift for storage and that I had to shift some contents to a second U-Box. There was no charge for the second box, and everything worked out, but it was "interesting" for a first-time user.

This location has the best hours and one of the biggest selections of equipment in Anchorage. Getting some of the locations in East Anchorage or Eagle River to provide similar levels of hours and equipment would be helpful to me. But this location is pretty good as is.
