Which was a final bill no Further charges Had $160.00 charge from stated location. And of course . Stated location had " Just Closed" As in 2 similar incidents with this 1 of FEW locations in Anchorage AK This location seems to be making charges that DO roll of EVENTUALLY But at the Furthest End of REIMBURSEMENT POINT. First off, my last name is wrong. He asked me 3 times AND it’s on my drivers license I gave him. The last name on the unit is nothing near my actual last name. Also, both Uhaul website and the papers I was given when I paid for the unit say access hours are until 10pm. We loaded up my car and got there at 7:30 to have it be closed. So the whole day was pointless because my husband leaves for the slope at 6am and is gone 2 weeks. That’s 2 weeks rent I could’ve saved because I cannot move it by myself. We tried to do the after hours check in and both my husband and I attempted to check the trailer back in. We spent a combined 50 mins on hold with uhaul and two drives in to the store from our South Anchorage house to try check in on a different device and it never let us passed the â€œfuel mileage and odometerâ€ pictures/step for check in. A trailer didn't have that but it wouldn't give an option to skip that.Kayla C.

Do a better job inspecting the trucks you send out and taking poor quality vehicles out of stock. Our vehicle had no AC and blew hot air through the floor boards the entire 116 miles journey while it was close to 80 degrees outside. It was miserable. As for our initial customer service, it was nice. Diane does a good job running the desk. She's friendly, funny, and helps move things along quickly, promptly and efficiently. The ending customer service from whoever checked us out was not so great. There was little acknowledgment or recognition of the fact we had been given a poor running vehicle.Maribeth M.

I am really disappointed with the integrity and service I received. I was charged for things that were not true and when I spoke to customer service and emailed them photos it wasn't sufficient. If I would have known that I had to literally take photos of the gas and mileage at drop off and the only gentleman who was there outside and the time I dropped it off I would have never used UHAUL to begin with. I will be telling everyone I know that UHAUL cannot be trusted. - I did not receive my rental truck with a full tank of gas and even after I spent money to fill up more then how I received it when I dropped it up, UHAUL still charged me for gas. -I also dropped off my truck before the time discussed and I was still charged a return late fee. -when I arrive to drop off there was nobody inside the building I can speak to and there was only one gentleman who came out to the truck and he explained all I had to do was drop off and he could not help me with anything else. you website was difficult to reserve a trailer at any branch multiple times given false positive that trailer was in stock. finally made a Guaranteed reservation and the day of pick up told not available at that location. different location had trailer but when i asked for my 50.00 credit for breaking your online guarantee the manager was rude and said if i wanted the 50 she would cancel my reservation and give the trailer to someone else.I needed trailer to do job . I reserved a 20 ft three days in advance...got there and my truck was rented to someone else. The cashier rang me up for 2 days when I had only reserved one. Because the truck was so much smaller I was an hour or 2 late dropping off where not only was I charged another day I was charged a refueling fee ( I topped off as instructed on contract). On return, man working at the till told me just to park the 4x8 trailer and he would sign it back in. I then got a call the next day stating the trailer was not returned. I had expected that there may be issues due to the lack of service on the return so I had taken a picture that was date stamped before I left the dealership. I am a regular customer and have been for years as I only have an economy car so any hauling I need to do I rent a U-Haul, preferably a truck or a van as I have short legs. The staff at this location are excellent and what really impresses me is that they work as a team. How the manager wear so many hats is on believable. One minute she is managing the storage and there U-Haul rentals and then the next minute she's Scrubbing the toilet due to a mess left by a desperate customer.Sally N.

I had paid for 24hr access. As I was hours from leaving the country and storing my entire household at the U-Haul location, my access card was not working after hours. The number for manager in charge - Bri -, no one answered for more than an hour and U-Haul customer service also was unable to reach her after many attempts. As a result, I could not miss my flight, and my unit was left open and a cart of my items left just inside the door. I had to conitnuously call the next morning (after flying out of Anchorage) to get someone to lock my unit. The valuable household items on the cart had disappeared. I was told that my account was not authorized for 24hr access, though my charges paid clearly showed that was paying for them. Additionally, as preparing to move my items in storage overseas, my colleague made attemtps to contact the same manager -Bri- via phone to arrange transfer into a U-Box, but was again unreachable. If a manager is going to be unavailable, there should be an alternate to cover responsibilities to support customers. When I move back to Anchorage, unfortuately, I will be chosing a different location for the storage of my items. It's too bad, as the facility and most of the staff are great, but the most important services and management responsible for providing them are lacking. My collegue who helped me, he provided similar feedback and will also have the same advice to others using that property location.STEVEN C. | Overall Experience

Online process was excellent. I received emails regarding access codes and times the facility was open. Then, got to the site with a friend to download a trailer full of belongings and the building and storage room I was assigned was not accessible when I arrived at 7:30 pm. The emails I received showed 24 hours access and another from 5 am to 10 pm. But, the building sign showed 7 am to 7 pm. I was frustrated that I couldn’t get after hour assistance as well. I had to take additional time off from work to download everything without assistance the next day. I do appreciate the young lady at the counter the next day however, she listened to my concerns and helped me extend the rental trailer that was due in that day and even got me a storage unit switched over to the building that was accessible to me after 7 pm. This really turned a difficult situation into a good outcome and showed me their customer service commitment. I am a person that expects businesses to practice what they preach in all aspects and will communicate any discrepancies to the highest levels of management. But, I will also give a positive response to good customer service assistance when It’s done. So, I personally want to thank this team at the front rental counter for the excellent experience after my frustration with the initial online and on-site move. Staff were very kind and personable; however, the second floor of the storage facility is not ADA-accessible (there is no elevator, only stairs) and the only available storage unit in the size I needed was on the second floor. Because of mobility issues and lack of ADA access, it will take me multiple days to finish unloading my items into my unit. In addition, to unload or load items into/from the units you have to enter through the main store entrance and have staff accompany you to unlock side doors that access a narrow alley outside. Otherwise you’re forced to cart them through the main store area, which is difficult to maneuver a dolly or flat cart through, and through multiple card-keyed doors that you must register and unlock each time. To access the alley you must go in the main store and request that staff accompany you to unlock the outside access doors in an alley then walk back out to the front to drive your vehicle around to the alley. The alley is barely wide enough to accommodate a parked vehicle while allowing any others to pass yet it is the only exit for all vehicles being used to access the storage unit areas. Five stars for the employees (and it’s not their fault the building was built the way it was), one star for accessibility difficulties. Giving it an overall rating of “below average” as all other storage facilities I’ve ever been to are ADA-accessible and do not suffer from the complex vehicle access challenges this one has. I would have chosen a different facility but my U-pod is being shipped to and stored at this one and once it arrives I plan to the items from my storage unit into it. I was then informed that access to storage on my side is only until 7 pm? I still don't know if that's true but the fact that there is confusion about whether or not I can get to my unit at the quote AND EMAILED time 5am to 10pm pisses me off. I will not be getting a 2nd month and I will move my business elsewhere. My code did not work so the girl gave me a new code. That one worked, but it should never have even been an issue. Hi so I reserve a storage where I have an access for 24 hours and when I got there they didnt even know I had a storage unit reserved and on top of that i thought when u sign up reserve we get free automatic pad locks? I have to pay for the lock waited and greeted with unpleasant attitude but thats fine because it seems like the guy was having a bad day and hard day. So i was wondering if The one i signed up and reserved to have an access for 24hours is available because thats why i rented the uhaul so I can go back and fort. And I didn’t have the chance to look at my reservation space? So i would like to talk to the branch manager or the owner of the company because, likewise I had a long day but i dont be bringing that to work so If you have a chance my number is (907) 744-4292.. please give that or have the manager, owner call me. The only issue I had was having to put in access code to one side before I could use the access code machine that my building had across from eachother. Also, there was no lighting in unit, being it winter in AK most months out of the year' it was inconvenient.Valerie J. | First Impressions
Ray was God Sent. I’ve been to this U-Haul location a few times and Ray has always been Professional, kind, and expeditious. I almost gave away and vintage bicycle due to a move and lack of space when Ray asked, do you need a rental unit? We recently had a bunch come available. The young man working the front desk lacks in customer service skills. I feel that he is not knowledgeable about the storage options and he did not provide clarity about location of the unit we rented and did not mention that uhaul had their own locks on the unit. The person that answered the phone when we realized we could not access the unit due to being locked, was very helpful and had someone come unlock the unit for us very quickly. Overall the Uhaul experience was great, with the exception of the young man at the desk, he may need more training on how to interact with customers. Thank you!Jose M. | First Impressions
If you want a square to put your belongings in, Uhaul has expensive rooms for that. If you want to wait forever in line, Uhaul knows how to waste your time. If you wanted to be offended, Uhaul hires the best customer service people for that. I’ll tell you, if I am providing you a good amount of money for a weak service, and your employees give me any attitude (hateful female I have encountered twice), or do not make me feel valued as a customer; I will create accounts around the web and make this review noticed. You want to waste my time, charge my card and hold my money, and then when I call to speak with the General Manager, Steve Womack doesn’t answer. What a disgrace to the Uhaul community. My experience with Uhaul storage was perfect until the day I moved out. I had reserved a 10' truck to move out my belongings on the last day of my billing cycle. The reservation was for a return trip with a base cost of $19.99. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told by the Asst. Mgr there were no 10' trucks to rent, that Uhaul had overbooked. I was then told there was a 10' truck but it was only for one ways and it would be $118 and I'd have to drop it off at another Uhaul location. I was not going to pay $100 more for a truck especially b/c this was not my fault. Nor did I have the time to drop the truck off on the other side of town. I instead started unloading my storage with my car but because the location closes at 7 I had to return the next day to finish. The Asst Mngr said I wouldn't be charged for the next month since I was now on day 1 of the next billing cycle, but I was charged and had to speak with a Uhaul rep (Raymond - who was excellent!) about reversing the charges. I had to take off the 1/2 half of this day from work in order to empty the storage unit as well. Lastly, when I asked about the $50 guarantee that's posted on your wall behind the counter, I was told my reservation didn't qualify because of the overbooking. This makes no sense. I made a reservation - the reservation was not fulfilled. It caused me all sorts of trouble, but the guarantee isn't valid because you overbooked? I have worked as a Logisitics Manager the past decade and have both used Uhaul for personal moves as well as for work related moves. I'll be hesitant to put myself in the same position with the company going forward and will be looking at other options.Jeff F. | Overall Experience
