The African American gentleman who checked the truck out to me and then checked me back in provided excellent service. He was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. I've rented trucks, vans and moving vans from this location about 4 - 5 times before and this was the easiest, best experience I've had -- in large part due to this employee.

The location was ok, but I had to wait a long time in line. Then your Uhaul computer system crashed and was very slow. Not the fault of the employee, but unstable Uhaul computer system.

We had rented the unit for 2 days (11/23 pick up at 8am) not knowing how long we would actually need the truck. However we returned the truck after 4-5 hours. I received a call from Uhaul on Saturday morning asking when to except the unit back. I let them know it was turned back the day before between 12:30 - 1:30. The official turn back in time was around 7:00am Saturday morning after our phone call due lack of communication from yard to sales office. We were still within our 24 hour window and was charged for both days. I spoke with a Uhaul member asking if we were going to be refunded for the additional day and was told no. I understand its only 39.99 but being charged for a product that you didn't have is rather annoying.

Staff is friendly, and I liked them, but they're slow... and time is money. Better training in the operation and functionality of the system software at the front counter is recommended. Customer service training, (of some kind), is required. The rental agent had not been informed by his employer that "please", and "thank you", are the barest minimum courtesies when dealing with customers... for every customer, every time- especially when requesting ID pursuant to the rental transaction. Customers are not acknowledged when entering the store, as they should be, with some sort of greeting, and some indication that they will be helped with their purchase soon... I think this is enough of the basics to help point the corporation in the direction forward... toward growth, retention, and repeat business without needing to rely upon location or market visibility as default drivers of revenue. One more important point, as I'm thinking about this experience; when I received the auto-transport trailer, the front end of it was covered in frozen and wet sand and gravel, (as if it had just traveled a couple thousand miles along an unpaved highway). It took 25 minutes to chip the ice, gravel and sand out of the ratchet guides so that the AT could be used. When I returned, it was returned in the same condition except that the ratchet guides had been cleared- I made mention of this to the counter person; the equipment receiver out front called out that the equip needed cleaning and the counter person told him she'd already been advised by the customer- he then came into the store and flipped open the rental contract and pointed to my initials and said I'd signed for it clean- though the counter person dismissed that comment, it was indicative of the level of customer service and attention to detail this location practices.

Rediculous wait times. Have used them twice in 3 weeks and both times they were totally disorganized resulting in +1/2 hour wait times. The second time I thought I would be clever and use the online reservation and checking app on my smartphone. BIG MISTAKE!! First of all, the app is poorly designed and required a myriad of steps to complete. Then no one on the lot knew how to respond to it. If it relies on the counter to initiate the pick ticket, forget it at this facility. They were too busy dealing with inefficiency to respond. Thankfully one lot assistant took initiative to retrieve the rental truck or i’d still be waiting. Poor management, poor computer systems, and poor processes are what I experienced...twice. I won’t return to this facility.

Have yet to receive a receipt via e-mail. There was a discrepancy with the amount of gas in the tank (gas gauge indication) and what the employee indicated on the agreement. Please forward the receipt.

Mileage off by 29. Escpepiqcllt bad when you pay extra for mileage. Customer service was poor. No paperwork for pre existing damage. Gas gauge from vehicle to contract off by 15 dolllars. Dirty interior. No washer fluid. Bad wiper blades. Smelled like smoke. 17ft was told is being phased out or sold. Maintain your equipment new or used. Absolutely disgraceful business. Please review your customer service and maintainers. Not a lot going good for you guys. Good luck in the future

I originally reserved the unit online weeks in advance to pick up in Seward. My wife called Seward 5 days in advance of the pickup date and they had no idea that we had equipment reserved, and we were told they would not even have the 20’ truck available we thought we had reserved. Additionally, they said no one would be there for us to pick up the vehicle on Saturday anyway. I thought that’s what the app I downloaded was for. Good thing we called to check. Big communication breakdown between the website and the Seward store. My wife then called the main U-Haul number and they were tremendously helpful. We were able to modify our original plans and switch to picking up the truck in Anchorage, where we wanted to drop off anyway. The Anchorage location was great. The only exception was as that The equipment checkout process is very lengthy. Just using the app would have been much faster. The Anchorage location should invest in locking gas caps however, as they appear to have an ongoing fuel theft problem.

I rented a 10’ van and I was surprised that the loading dock didn’t have any kind of grip and was very slick when wet, also no warning signage of it being slippery. I went to step up into the back of the truck and slipped off the loading dock and both my legs are bruised. I mentioned that to the person I checked the van back in with but they just shrugged it off. I’d like to speak with someone in management about this.

It would have been nice to know that the 10 foot box van doesn't have a ramp. I was moving a piano when I found out. Also the truck didn't have studs on. I was on the hillside.

The seat belt was not working properly. I notified an employee, Rosie, and he whacked the buckle a few times and said it would work and they would replace the part when I returned. Each time I buckled the belt I had to try multiple times before it would stay fastened and I was never sure if it would hold. After I returned the vehicle I was unclear about the charges, so I called to ask questions. I spoke to Tim, and he did not provide relevant answers to my questions. The information he did give was contradictory. When I asked clarifying questions he quickly became aggressive and then accused me of not listening. I was charged for fuel even though I returned the car with more fuel than it had at pickup, even though Rosie told me I would get an $18 credit if I returned the car with the same amount of fuel. At this time the charges have not be accurately settled. Please contact me to correct the bill.

Made phone reservation online. Did not have the right equipment when I arrived from what phone agent told me. Rental process took excessively long and the step of calling a second point of contact is ridiculous. I'll never rent from U-haul again because of that alone. Counter person was socially awkward. Did not get promised e-mail receipt. Very dissatisfied.
