The staff was great but the van smelled of cigarettes so bad it made me sick to my stomach, I had it for 4 days to move things around for a job my work had. It made me stink and I was not happy about that.



The only issue I have is that there are several pending transactions on my bank account that are 3 weeks old. These are charges above my rental fees and I am not sure why they are still being held from my balance. I have, however greatly appreciated the service provided. The staff I interacted with were pleasant and efficient. I will use this service without hesitation and forward positive refferals as well.

The cab was dirty on the inside. There was an orange under the drivers seat. The dash was super sticky. The windshield was dirty too. The passenger side windshield wiper did not work at all. The outside was filthy. The front does not have a license plate as required by law. The truck has a motor icon lit up on dash. When I picked up the truck, the man said it had been fixed but the light had not turned off yet. When I dropped the truck off, I mentioned the icon. The lady and man at the counter said the truck was waiting on a part but it was still safe to drive? Not impressed. Will look for another place to rent a van to haul our GS cookies next year. Was not worth the girls hard earned money for the experience.??

I picked up the truck at 2:00pm and asked the person when checking out if I could return it by the close of business (7:00pm) on the day I was to bring it back without an extra charge and he answered yes. UHaul charged me for an extra day beyond the 3 days I was alloted. The person working the desk should know the answer to these questions.

There were multiple issues in this rental. The bottom line is there was a huge breakdown in the communication process regarding the free storage promotion and the return of the rental truck. Management should do a better job of trying to meet a customers needs early on, not after several issues.

When 26' truck was changed to a 20' one at pick up, someone should have noted that so that you knew where the truck went!

I was not advised or a rental tax fee ..not when I called to order or when I picked it up nor dropped it off..all other charges were discussed so when I saw the bill I was a bit shocked? Not the amount just that no-one said anything about it and I dealt with 3 different maybe a better breakdown of the fees so its not a surprise on the bill..

Truck wasn’t ready at the appointed time, fuel level was incorrect and they still billed me for it, customer service clerk was rude both times (pick up and drop off), truck wasn’t ready at the appointed time, when I dropped off I had to take pictures of the fuel and miles just so I could leave in a halfway timely manner.

When we arrived to pick up our reserved 17ft truck for moving just shortly after the confirmed time of 1045am, we were informed that they didn't have any and did we want a 15ft truck. We said no, items wouldn't fit. They tried calling the person that was late getting back with their truck and got no answer. The gentleman was trying to be helpful but he hadn't learned some of the stuff up front that they wanted him to do. The other front person said she would help him as soon as she was done with her customer. We had friends waiting on us to load up the house for our move across town. Finally Cody was up front and was trying to help the other gentleman. We even asked about getting a 20 or 26 ft at the 17 price since nothing was available and he said he would take care of it. Another female, blonde (maybe Tracie), said there were no 20s available did we want a 15 and again we said no. After finally getting everything done and signed for, a tall thin gentleman went and got our 26ft truck and was getting it ready. While we finished our paperwork, the truck drove away....someone else took our truck. We spent a good 45 min trying to get a truck that was reserved. We were even asked if we wanted to drive over to Boniface as they had the size truck we needed. We both loudly said No we were not driving across town to drive back downtown to drive to the new house in south Anchorage. Finally got another truck and then the paperwork was a mess. Tracie had to completely redo paperwork because she had to figure out how to swap the trucks out but wanted to get us on our way. When we asked about the "Uhaul Guarentee" Tracie stated that Uhaul has the right to upgrade you but not try downgrade you, so we wouldn't be getting the $50 as stated in the guarantee. Even though we reserved a truck, it wasn't available which is part of the guarantee. And as she stated, they would not try to downgrade you, they tried 4 different times to downgrade us. This was such a mess. We had people waiting on us to get back with the truck that waited almost an hour, truck wasn't ready and when we finally get put in a truck, someone else takes it which completely confused the staff. And upon return that was another mess because they tried to over charge on the mileage because things weren't fixed in the computer. I will never use this location again, may not even use Uhaul again. And it's a shame that Uhaul doesn't stand by their guarantee when it's posted on the wall right behind the registers. Sad day when trying to move. I or my girlfriend Louise would appreciate if we were contacted from a district manager or someone higher than store manager, especially about the guarantee and the mess that was this store on Saturday.
