I had to leave my vehicle while I was using the truck. Parking for leaving vehicles when customers will be returning to the same location as the pick-up site.

ANDREW Sthe trailer tires were so out of balance that it vibrated the entire vehicle. It looked as if one of the four tires was a larger size. The staff at the store were great.
Scott LMy experience was sub par with UHAUL this go around. they had to cancel my truck last minute of the “confirmation day” because someone didn’t return what I had rented weeks in advance. They split the ticket for auto my transport and truck. The only location for the truck was over 50 miles away I believe from my home I also had to schedule this myself… my move was preplanned hence the scheduling… and I got dinged on extra mileage when the issue wasn’t my fault. Bad business. But I kept trying to be postive. I was hoping they would save the day here in Auburn (war eagle) because the customer service was above average, but… The cab of the truck had a bunch of sticky goo like fluid in it I had to clean out myself kinda smelled like someone had smoked in it at first.. I sprayed the truck with car freshener as soon as I got it home. I did the best I could cleaning it before we used it. The cargo area of the truck was filled with random legos, dirt, dog hair, leaves and where something oily was spilled/and or exploded and not cleaned up. They forgot my utility dolly but did provide a furniture dolly so we had to use our own dolly. (Glad we had our own) barely used the furniture dolly at all. The movers we hired through uhaul didn’t know how to pack the truck, didn’t know how to take apart things… we ended up carrying the piano, WITH the movers we hired. The truck shift mid move and it was a mess when we opened it. We would have packed it better without their “approved advertised movers.” Any time I tried to call the scheduling department with the “205” corp number for scheduling they would answer and put me on hold, I once waited over twenty minutes. They never came to the line. My experience picking up my rescheduled auto transport 50 miles to a different location was better! All in all 2 star move. At least the truck didn’t break down and got me to my next home in one piece. With what I paid alone not including our other reservations, i could have hired movers who were dedicated to quality and securing a moving trailer. Do better Uhaul. Also,this location needs more staff. Hire good people with the right staff and it will shine. The understaffing got to go!

Never mind the fact that we accommodated a different pick-up time and place than initially arranged, had UHaul contracted labor help no-show on us to load-out the equipment, and had scheduled UHaul contracted labor arranged to unload the equipment for 3 hours AFTER the equipment return time. There should have been some clues about the hardships and scenario with which we were working. The rude and insensitive customer service caller offering lectures to me about contracted obligations was frankly laughable and certainly encourages me to never trust UHaul with a significant move in the future.

Rebecca THad a scheduled appt at 9am. When I arrived at location I was told truck will not be available till 5 pm. When I finally picked up at 5pm the truck was out of gas.

THOMAS HI was given a location to drop off. When i arrived and after i checked in on the app, i was told that they were full and i needed to take it to another location 15 min away. I took it to another location which was a storage facility with no one on duty. I called the customer service and he was very helpful but it took him 30 min trying to call the first location and get the drop off location corrected. He finally had me send the information to him and he said he would call them later.
GLENN FVery long wait to get reserved truck — not enough workers on site for a well known very busy weekend (moving out of college apts) to turn over returned trucks and get them to next customer.
KATHERINE MPoor planning on the part of management led to a two hour plus wait for a trailer that was reserved weeks earlier on line. This was the weekend that apartments in the areas require students of a large college town to move out, so the huge need for trucks and trailers was predictable. Two people were working, one was physically unable to help with trailer hookups (not her fault, they are very heavy), several trucks were returned and not checked in properly, with locked inside and apparently no spare keys and trucks and trailers were blocking the drive. Most of the folks in line were not getting the items they reserved. An extra person showed up to help with the improperly checked in trucks, but by then the situation was out of control. While this location is very convenient and the employees were trying their best, management should have planned better for staffing to prevent this. We had a similar situation to happen in May- end of semester, lack of employees and a very long wait for reserved item. When we left several people had been waiting for 3 hours for trucks.

Dylan TEven the my experience with U-Haul at 1301 Opelika Rd was Excellent. My experience with U-Haul was not. The day before rental I received too many confusing texts about delays and pick up times as well as locations. I was told a vehicle would not be ready at my requested time of 9 am. The locations changed for Auburn, Opelika, Phenix City and Alexander City. I went to location at 50 Auburn Lakes Road, Auburn, AL where I was supposed to have a 9am pick-up. Upon arrival I was told there were no trucks. Then I went to the 1301 Opelika Rd, Auburn, AL location. Where I had a confirmed reservation at 4pm and ready for online check in. On arrival, I was told my truck was not available. I asked for other sized trucks and none were available. I ask for a large trailer if available, I was able to get 6'X12" trailer. The U-Haul agent I worked with was understanding, very helpful and did not give up until I was able to get something to complete my move. That is why I gave an excellent rating for this location. Also, returning trailer was relatively easy. My only complaint is U-Haul's scheduling and reservation process and I have been a regular U-Haul customer over the years.

JOHN BAfter the long day of moving and unpacking, I showed up to do a mobile drop off, and the key drop box was broken. I called U-Haul support, I was on the phone for almost 30 minutes, standing in the dark, while they deliberated over whether to let me lock the key inside the truck or not. The manager of the location could not be reached and me and several other people dropping off trucks had to endure yet another inconvenience after spending all day moving and unpacking. It’s completely unprofessional.

Timothy RStars are for U-Haul scheduling, the workers at this location went above and beyond to make up for and ultimately resolve the absolute disaster I arrived to due to "someone in scheduling" according to another member of the scheduling department over the phone. I went out of my way to ensure I reserved explicitly a closed-in trailer, as I needed both the full capacity as well as cover from inclement weather, far in advance. Without warning, notice, or even any attempt to contact or verify with me, someone in scheduling changed my reservation to an open top trailer of the same size but with no protection from the elements or passers by, and no ability to have the same storage as an enclosed trailer. The employees at this location were incredibly helpful, and without their assistance, I would have been completely screwed. Fortunately, they were able to help with the situation and turn what was about to be me being unable to move and fully destitute into only a time delay in picking up the trailer I had actually reserved and paid for. Without the employees at this location, I would have been unable to move my belongings in any significant quantity, and they would have been utterly destroyed by the multiple storms and rain showers that passed over the course of the rental. I would have been out thousands and thousands of dollars and also likely would have had priceless sentimental valuables destroyed, or all of my belongings trashed out when unable to meet my move-out deadline all because someone in scheduling decided to change my reservation to something incompatible with the needs that originated my reservation of a trailer in the first place, and all done with no notice or warning whatsoever, nonetheless the decency of time to find another alternative that actually honors the concept of a confirmed reservation. I hope the employees at this store in particular are thanked and rewarded for going out of their way to help a customer that someone in scheduling had decided to screw over.

GREGORY WA store manager Tyler was very condescending and demonstrated a blatant disregard for my situation upon my inquiring about the accessories I ordered along with the truck. He stated they were unavailable despite a customer returning a utility dollie during my time in the location, he stated the dollie was not available for my use as it was intended for local use only. I communicated that I would return the dollie to the Auburn location the next day, however he was not accommodating.

Timothy HWorst experience ever, start to finish. We arrived in Auburn (from Atlanta) to find that the system had canceled my reservation. Luckily they had a different truck so I had to rebook on-site. The truck I received only had 48,000 miles so I thought it was a fairly new truck. But, from the looks of the back door and its rusty parts, clearly those were not new, and not original. We needed to be on the road back to Atlanta by 2 PM, and we finished loading the truck at 1:30, but the door wouldn’t pull down. The right tension cable was loose, it had come off the “spool”. The U-Haul representative said to reach out to Roadside Assistance via the app. So we did. At 2:10, we received a response saying they had “received our file”. 47 minutes later, at 2:57, we received a text estimating time of arrival in 80 minutes, or around 4:20. Assistance arrived at 4:30 and worked on it for about 15 minutes then said they had to leave to get a “key card” and left at 4:45. Assistance returned at 5:10 and worked on it for about 10 minutes. He disconnected both the right and left cables, releasing all the torsion to help in opening and closing the door. When he started closing the door, the full weight of the door came slamming down, and he walked off and got in his truck, and he did not come back. His son, who was with him, came and told me they got the door to go down, but it will be heavier to raise back up and that I should be careful. We left Auburn at 5:45 Auburn time, 6:45 Atlanta time and, with the rain and traffic and wrecks, it took over three hours to make it back to Atlanta. When we arrived in Atlanta, we had to raise the door to unload the truck, in the rain. To raise that door was damn near impossible for one person. We got the truck unloaded, and, because the door was so heavy, I went ahead and took pictures of the inside of the back of the truck so I could upload the picture when I dropped the truck off at (10:45 PM), without having to raise the door again. Then, I closed the door. Once the weight of the door started coming down, there was no way to slow it down without risking serious injury. Not joking. I got to the return location at 10:45 and began filling out the after-hours drop off information. When it came time to upload the picture of the inside of the back, I learned uploading pictures were not an option. So, in the rain and on a slippery bumper, I had to try and position myself to get enough leverage to lift the door, as I stood on the wet bumper, but was unable to lift the door by myself. At 11 o’clock, I had to call my daughter to come and help. Together, we got the door open so I could take and submit the picture. As we began letting the door down, the weight of the door caused my daughter‘s foot to slip on the wet bumper, and I had to brace the door with my shoulder so she could get out of the way as it was falling on her. I made it back home at 11:45 PM.
BRADLEY HBooked my U-Haul at a special rate of 84.00. Y’all changed pick up location and then upped my rate to 120.00, now can’t seem to get answers for it. Guess hertz will be used for my rental needs.
STEPHEN HThe parking lot was small and off a busy road. I had to circle the lot towing a trailer because the entrance was blocked by several trucks. I figured it out and the staff was excellent once I arrived.
Jason WTake Perfect Time Right Time On Time off the list of moving help companies. They did not show up at the confirmed time -not perfect, not right time, no show. No one answered the numerous calls we made to see why they had not shown up. Later after we had to return our rental truck, they Blamed U Haul for the problem. Said U Haul over books and books last minute. We reserved their services 2 weeks prior to moving date. They confirmed and on the day before they sent a reminder text to confirm day and time.

NICK MTell the truth!!! I rented a car dolley at 6:45pm one afternoon for a local vehical move and specifically asked the CSR if there was an option to bring it back later that night after hours. I was told that would be no problem at all and it would actually cost less if less than 4 hours on the rental. You can tell on the contract that this was discussed because they listed the return time at 11pm that same night, not 24 hrs later. I used the dolly and returned it that night at 9:38pm.... less than 3 hr use. When I checked my account the next morning they still charged me the full 24hr rental rate. I stopped by the office and tried to discuss the issue with a guy that said he was the assistant manager. This CSR quickly stated that there was no such thing as reduced rates on any U-Haul rentals and that there's nothing he could do. I didn't care as much that they did not honor the stated rate reduction as much as they lied about... I would not have brought it back at 10 o'clock at night in the rain if I had known I was not going to get a discounted rate for the early return. I've used U-Haul many times over the years for moves and equipment but I will be looking at other options in the future. It's more about principles that money at this point.

They insisted they informed us that it wouldn’t be ready but I checked my email and texts multiple times, they didn’t say it wouldn’t be ready until an hour after the scheduled time. Extremely disappointed and won’t be using Uhaul for my next move.

Peter AWe had difficulty both picking up and dropping off the trailer we rented. Equipment was fine. The pickup took almost an hour due to slow customer service, and during the drop off we were accosted by a man eagerly awaiting the trailer (although we were dropping off within the correct time frame), whom I can only assume wasn't communicated well with since he was angry at us for not dropping it off earlier. We will be using other UHaul service providers in the future.

KHANH PTruck had a damaged front bumper when received. Uhaul Representative advised this damage was noted in the files which was not true as there was no documentation nor the standard sticker was applied as I was advised at drop off location Truck was not clean and had bad odor (leftover fast food type) which made the 11 hour drive very miserable even with air fresheners
CAROLYN KRented a auto transporter the agent put in the information to make it work for him. I towed the transporter with my 2015 chevy tahoe, I was going to tow a 1995 suburban, it fit onto the transporter but it was to much to tow it was all over the road I could have wrecked my vehicle or worsted so I tried to switch vehicle and my tires on the 2015 tahoe was too wide to fit so I was unable to use the transporter when I informed the agent he said that you signed the agreement and that's it. So I waited time and money and got nothing for but a bad experience.
