The white girl that was there was hella rude

DOUG CThe inside of the trailer had some sort of grease and dirt that put stains on the furniture. I also had requested blankets, but they did not have any as a result. I had to pay to have the furniture cleaned when I got to Nashville.

ROY AThe young girl was not professional at all. The lady at the Opelika location gave me my paper work to give to the Auburn location. I tried giving it to her and she insisted for me to give her my phone number. I told her that everything she needed is on this paper. She was talking so low I couldn't hear her, so I ask her can you speak a little louder. And she didn't. So I ask my wife should you hear her? My wife said no. She is talking to low. The young girl rolled her eyes and was been sarcastic with us both. We had questions to ask about the Uhaul rental and she did have the answer. So we had to ask the manager there. I did tell the manager about her attitude and that she is very unprofessional. She is childish and I can easy see that she do not cares nothing about the customer or her job. Please, someone need to look into this. Because, I never had that problem at that local before.

Christine HProvide a full tank of gas at the start. I was given below half a tank. It is impossible to gauge the mileage for a 200 mile round trip. Thus, I left $55 of gas in the tank for the benefit of UHaul. That does NOT make me happy.
JAMES RPickup was great. Drop off was ridiculous. The lady was outside when we arrived, on her phone, barely acknowledged we were there, told us to drive around to the other side, never came out to look at the trailer or help us unhook. When I went inside to make sure everything was good, she never got up , was still on her phone and just said your good. I could’ve driven off with the trailer, she wouldn’t have known. She was rude and lazy!
Dan HI was treated very well did not feel rushed nor ignored, my trip started in Opelika Alabama, and I had some issues with my credit card and Customer Service was amazing help us and saw us through the problem until we received our rental U haul is amazing and took care of me while I moved my daughter to L. A.
David CI called ahead of time before my original pickup time to notify the staff that instead of my original 6:45pm pickup, I would most likely need to do an after hour pickup. The gentleman on the phone was understanding and told me the process on how to pickup after hours. Fast forward to 6:25 (store closes at 7) and I get a phone call from the store saying I can’t pick up after hours because they have no place to park the truck. After finally negotiating and having to leave early from my prior obligations to avoid not getting the truck, I was able to walk in the door at 7:05 to pick up the truck (again, gentleman on the phone said it was fine and they’d stay a few minutes after closing to help). Upon arrival, the young lady behind the desk was rude and was visibly annoyed during the whole check out process. Once checkout was completed, I got the truck and went on with my move the next day (July 10th). The truck itself was clean, but the front end needs to seriously be checked out on it. Any small bump or divot in the road made me feel as if the truck was going to lose control (tons of play in the steering wheel and front end did not feel stiff whatsoever). I returned the uhaul the same afternoon, well before the time I reserved until. However after leaving the location, I noticed that I had left a set of my personal truck keys inside the U-Haul (potentially). I contacted the location at 7:22pm and they supposedly close at 8pm on Fridays. I spoke to a guy who put me on hold, stayed on hold until 8:15pm, and still not taken off hold. Hoping to try again in the morning, but guess I have a safer option of visiting the location. Disappointed in the service at this location, have used them many of times before with no issues. Disappointed in the truck driving quality. Overall, not a great experience with UHaul this go around.

Alexsie MThe mileage allowance is very limited for a one-way rental. I had to pay extra for a detour due to road construction. Additionally, at check-in, the fuel tank was not full, but I did not receive a refund for returning it with a full tank.

Greg KCharged extra day rental when I dropped truck on Saturday evening and spoke to people on site had me drop keys in box. Charged for extra days rental and insurance. Bad communication and app up dates throughout entire process and left it with more gasoline than when I picked up. Not pleased

Erich BThe location and the service there were fantastic, and I recommend. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I will ever use UHAUL again because I made a reservation at a place local a week from when I needed it, and then the day before get told it's not there anymore and that I would have to drive an hour out of my way to pick up a vehicle that charges money by the mile. Makes no sense to me. The website was also very hard to work through and wasn't clear on many things.

Jackie LTo Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my reservation at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Auburn (1301 Opelika Road, Auburn, Alabama) on June 10, 2026. The experience was unacceptable, unprofessional, and entirely avoidable. The day before my reservation, I had a confirmed reservation for a 10-foot one-way box truck to move my son from Auburn, Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia. Based on that reservation, I coordinated helpers, adjusted schedules, arranged the move, and drove approximately 2.5 hours from Dothan to Auburn for my scheduled 10:00 AM pickup. Upon arrival, I was informed that the truck assigned to my reservation had been pulled from service and was unavailable. The employee assisting me, Calvin, asked whether I had received a notification call the previous day advising me of an issue with my reservation. I informed him that I had not. He then researched the vehicle and discovered that the truck had reportedly been removed from service on May 16, nearly a month before my reservation date. This raises several serious concerns: If the truck had been unavailable since May 16, why was it still available for reservation? Why was inventory not updated to prevent customers from reserving equipment that did not exist? Why was I never contacted, despite being told customers are notified by approximately 5:00 to 6:00 PM the day before when equipment availability becomes an issue? Why did I have to discover the problem only after driving 2.5 hours to your facility? What is particularly troubling is that this was not a small neighborhood dealer or a third-party representative location. This occurred at U-Haul’s own Auburn facility. If inventory accuracy, reservation management, and customer communication cannot be properly maintained at a corporate U-Haul location, that reflects a significant operational failure. The situation continued to deteriorate from there. I was offered a larger one-way truck, which I was not comfortable driving through Atlanta traffic. I was then told I would need to travel to another city to obtain a truck, which would have further delayed a move that had already been carefully coordinated. Ultimately, the only reason the move was able to proceed at all was because I happened to drive a vehicle equipped with a trailer hitch. Had I driven my personal vehicle, which does not have a hitch, the move would have been impossible. I then attempted to switch to a 5x8 trailer, only to hear discussions indicating that trailer had already been reserved by another customer. Somehow the issue was ultimately resolved and I received a trailer, but by that point my confidence in the reservation system was nonexistent. To add insult to injury, while standing at the counter dealing with this situation, the payment terminal displayed the following message: “Did you know U-Haul guarantees your equipment will be available when and where it was promised to you?” I took a photograph of that screen and have attached it to this complaint. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite of what U-Haul advertises. The only positive aspect of this experience was Calvin. He was professional, courteous, patient, and worked diligently to find a solution. My complaint is not directed at him. He was left trying to repair a situation created by failures elsewhere in U-Haul’s system. My complaint is directed at the failure of U-Haul’s reservation process, inventory management, and customer communication. I expect a prompt response and a meaningful resolution to this matter.
ALLYSON EAlways a pleasure to rent a U-Haul (except the move part - LOL)! This particular location is truly fabulous. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they have many choices of extra items (box sizes, locks, etc.)!

Ebony DThere didn’t seem to be any kind of check-in process when we returned the equipment. When we picked it up we had to take pictures, etc. when we dropped it off they just said drop it in the parking lot and we’ll look it over and send you a receipt later.
May JU-Haul did not have reserved equipment. Had to drive to another location and went over total mileage.
Justin CI wanted to rent a 4’ x 8’ cargo trailer. Sign above showed it was $14.95 a day Was told to scan my card at it was ~$40. Asked why found out they charged me for 2 days not one. Came up to over $20 asked about the $14.95. Gave all kinds of excuses that that was for a different trailer even though the $14.95 was ON THE 4’ X 8’ trailer sign. Finally just paid the ~$20. Took the trailer back the next day to drop off area said she would email me the receipt. After an hour of not receiving it called office. Said they would check and email it to me. After an hour had to call back and they sent me the email showing I returned the trailer but shows the time I dropped it off was an hour LATER than when I actually returned it.
Gordon BI was extremely upset that I was FORCED to pay for 3 days rental when I just wanted it for 1 day. Yes it was a one way, but because I am. Deputy with the county I had a limited time to load very few items and transport to the destination and that only took 51/2 hours + 1 hr unloading. Then I was di e and the truck was returned before closing the same day. Yet I am still charged for all days. Very unhappy with the greediness of Uhaul
Bryan MThis location gets 5 stars. The staff at this location was friendly and helpful. They helped our check in process be very smooth and answered all our questions. My experience in general gets a 3. They didn’t have the size of truck we ordered so they upgraded us. It took several calls to confirm we wouldn’t be charged for the more expensive truck. Also the larger truck ended up being pretty frustrating for packing & parking purposes. I wish they had called to ask and we probably would’ve asked for a smaller truck instead of a larger one.

MELISSA aGood location. Return process was easy but it took 15m for me to get a hard copy of the receipt, even after I did all of the return steps on the app. Yes, I know I would get an email receipt but I think it reasonable to expect a paper copy quickly.
Scott LThis location was pretty great, but I originally booked my U-Haul for another location called 4th Street Station in Opelika, AL. Never received a call from them, even went by a few days prior and I seemed to be all set then the night before I receive a reservation confirmation with the new location. It’s my fault for not realizing it was a new location, so I showed up to my original one. but I feel like I should’ve been given a phone call at least to verify. The 4th street station needs a review
kaylee sMy reservation originally had me picking up at a different location. The app even had the other location listed on the day of pick up only to find that no one was at that location. Fortunately, I called U-Haul's 800-number and was told that my reservation was moved to this location. The U-Haul Moving and Storage of Auburn location was fine, but the app should have updated me on the change.
Jim Ofirst of all, I made reservations a month ahead of time my van was not there. I went to another location to get the van that location was closed then I had to come back and get the van they had reserved for somebody else then at that time I paid for everything that was necessary. I come return. The van put them out of the gas back in the van. I was overcharged for gas and then I was charged again for something different. They took another hundred and some dollars off my car that wasn’t even supposed to be taken off and now I’m waiting on a refund and no I would not do it again.

Kimberly A | Overall ExperienceMost unorganized and unprofessionally run business I’ve ever seen. They rented us a storage unit, then after charging us told us that none were available. Instead of refunding us, they emptied someone else’s belongings out of a unit and told us we could have it. We put our belongings in, then realized there was no way to lock it because the previous renters lock was still on it (still not sure how it was opened). We were already a few hours behind at that point so we believed them when 2, yes, 2 employees told us they would replace it with our lock as soon as they had the other cut off. A month later, we return to find that the unit had been unsecured the entire time. Thankfully everything was still inside, so no damage done. Also, we only rented for 30 days, but they automatically charged me for another 30 the day we emptied the unit. I would never recommend this business and cannot believe anyone would use them a second time
