I felt I waited longer than expected for the service rep to recognize that I was present and waiting and finally to appear behind the glass screen and attend to my rental. There was no way for me to notify the attendant of my presence -- I just had to wait for them to notice me on their tv monitor in some hidden room. I made a reservation for a utility dolly and upon receiving the keys to the truck , I noticed there wasn't one there. The sales associate mentioned them not having a way to keep track of what's on the reservation versus what's actually available on the store. Attendant at pick up location told us trailer didn't have running lights He said it just used reflectors. Which turns out to be a lie. When rep called to tell us pick up location, we requested a change which she confirmed was completed. It wasn't. We spent multiple hours on the phone being passed from person to person before this was fixed. Finally Leslie in Memphis was able to help. He said he couldn’t provide mile info about our Truck because we didn’t book it through him and he couldn’t help us with a Storage location at our destination because… some system mom bought jumbo reason. He definitely had a different demeanor from when we checked in a storage unit. Rude big guy, and always gives poor service. Last time he gave me a tore up truck and did the same thing again, this time with no AC., He knows exactly what he is doing, he does this crap on purpose and that's not cool. Someone also at the office , basically him, change my rsvp to a location over 20 miles away, in a bad need I knew nothing about. I never asked anyone to change my rap location. Doing my rental the vehicle cut off seven times. The personnel were friendly but the maintenance on this vehicles need to be addressed I know that I burned more gas than needed. We had a trailer rental paid for for 24 hours. We were called first thing this morning with the rep rudely asking where the trailer was. We still had until the afternoon to return the trailer, but the rep called me and my wife separately with the same rude attitude. We have rented several trucks and trailers from U-haul in the past few months due to moving across several states. In the future, I will consider contacting Penske first.KELLY M.

The passenger side mirror just goes up and down, but stays down and u can't see nothing except the street and the white/ yellow lines. This was the most dangerous and scary ride I have experienced, due to not being able to see anything on my right side. I had to take different routes and use unnecessary miles, due to I couldn't see anything on the right side and didn't won't to hurt myself or someone else. This was like driving very blindly. Inspections should be done regularly on the vehicles to make sure they are safe for the customers. Not to say there isn't paper on file to say they're done, but "really" completed. The person employed (female) by Uhaul was in the parking lot when I arrived. There was no indication by her plain shirt, and no badge, that she was the employee. She was talking to another customer. No one was in the office, so I was looking for a key drop box. She walked up behind me and screamed in a very rude tone. Our conversation, word-for-word: Uhaul: YOU returning a TRUCK!?! Me: yes, I am. Uhaul: Did you â€œbotherâ€ to fuel the truck!?! Me: of course, yes. Uhaul: YOU can leave! Me: Thank you for your kindness She looked at me with a mean, and unprofessional look and appeared to be rude to all (6-7 people) in the parking lot. She is not a good representative for Uhaul. I returned my truck after hours so i used the website to process my return. The website kept telling me that the mileage i was entering was less than when I took the truck. I checked the mileage against the contract when i left and everything was correct. I also triple checked when I returned the truck and it was about 32 miles more than when i got it. I sat on the phone with customer service for about 40 minutes and the only resolution they could give me was to takes pics and call first thing in the morning to ensure I wasn't charged for another day. Of course after spending my entire day moving i was pooped the next day and forgot all about it. Sure enough i was charged, so now i have to call and plead my case to get my money back. Biggest inconvenience ever because your system was messed up. Last time I'll use Uhaul. I'll pay extra with the other guys who get it right.Shannon K.

I would like to state the truth and the whole truth. Upon arriving, my wife met Dantonio, the manager of the facility, who was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! His service was quite pleasant and beyond exceptional. He went above and beyond to take care of my wife's concern's regarding hours which would accommodate our move, etc. -Just overall a great guy. Therefore, Dantonio should be exempt from this rating. The grounds were clean but the facility itself is really very old and honestly, out of 43 times of having to move, relocate, store items due to being a commander in the military, we have never seen an older facility. The positive side is, however, we have never visited a storage facility that had a unit so large. Maybe the unit size is normal but it surely works well for our needs. Now, I will proceed in telling you what our issues have been. Upon returning the truck, my wife received a telephone call from a young lady at the facility who, upon my wife answering, jumped down her throat (verbally), and alleged that we had smoked in the rental truck. My wife tried and tried to explain to the employee that she doesn't smoke, nor do I. Even more, my wive's father, who drove the truck, has medical conditions that would never allow smoke. We aren't sure if the cigarette butts were from the previous driver and city, but we are certain that neither of the three of us left cigarette butts in the vehicle. We cleaned the truck and refueled the truck. We were also under the mileage allowed to us, by approximately 45 miles. The employee informed my wife that she had been attempting to run our card (before speaking with us and ever allowing us an opportunity to hear her concerns or express our rebuttal). Luckily for us, Bank of America was quick to identify the duplicate attempts and block all charges. The employee stated that we had gone over our miles, but upon calling customer service, the agent clearly stated on U-Hauls recorded line that we were under our miles allowed, as I had informed the employee at the location. The employee also falsified information on our account that we had not refueled the truck. We hold fuels cards with two different well known gas stations and their both active with available credit. We fueled the truck up and returned the vehicle. Here's the thing: While the truck was being returned, the "same employee" never mentioned we were below the fuel. She walked around the truck with our person. She never found cigarette butts while in our presence, so honestly, I feel as if we are being manipulated. This isn't how you treat your customers, especially ones who have always used your services and who have..., might I add, never had problems with any other U-Hual location in the past. It surely isn't how you treat an active duty military family who has been pulled here and there, around the world, to fight for the good people of this country. My wife called customer service but still, we are receiving text messages that we have an outstanding balance at the location. We turned the truck in early and after we heard from the location, we called both the location and customer service and requested to go back to the location and clean these alleged butts. However, we never received a call back. A few days later, we received notification, via email, that we now have an outstanding balance at the location. This incident might end decades of us renting with U-Haul. We will consider Budget during our next move.
