Very unpleasant experience, won't rent from uhaul again. I booked a 15' van for 11am Saturday for pickup in bolton, I had a uhaul representative call me to confirm pickup address/time earlier in the week. Upon arrival to pickup the truck at the destination uhaul provided, there was no truck available. The service representative at the location also could not provide any information so I had to call uhauls 1800 number for assistance. After approx 10 min waiting to talk to a customer service rep I was advised that the truck they were going to rent me was now in for repair and if I wanted a truck today that I would have to drive 35 min out of town to bramalea to get one and on top of that only a 10' van was available not a 15' van as originally ordered and required for my move. Since today was move day I had no choice but to travel out of town to get the smaller van. I incurred $40 worth of personal gas expense on my own car because of this travel. I also incurred more expenses to fill the truck up with fuel because of having a 10' van and not a 15' van more trips were required to move all of my goods to the new location. When I arrived to the bramalea location to pickup the van there was a lineup of people from the front desk going out the front door, it took approx 35 more minutes before I could get my keys and start my move. The time I got on the road was 12:45pm and not 11am. Upon starting the van, I noticed that the fuel gauge was not accurate to what was agreed on my contract. Also the rear right tire needed air so the vehicle was even prepared. What a complete disaster, the best part was that no discount or apology was given to me after going through all of this. There was no coolant in the vehicle, kept getting engine heat up/speed reduced/car safety concerned messages which delayed my trip. Then it took 2 hours for a technician to come and check and then asked me to drive the vehicle anyway to the return location. ever since the current team took over this facility has been a joke. They did everything to force me out, they did not take my payment for the unit automatically as agreed they made mre go into late payment 3 months in a row, I came in to the store to pay the second and third time. The third time I had it out with this Rajnit person who lied through her teeth, was most abrupt and condescending. She outright called me a liar, and said I had no cc cards listed when im fact I had 3 listed. When I told her I had screen shot of the 3 cards on my file, she told me she did not care about my screenshot, that I had none. Then she tried to tell me my Walmart Financial M/C was not a real cc, that it was not issued by a bank. I told her this is accepted all over the world where MC's are accepted. Then she stated it does not have a chip, so I held it up in front of her and asked " what is that, is it not a chip". Suddenly silence. The drop box at this location sign is too small not visible unless you approach that specific door and within 6 inchs to a foot before you can clearly make out the drop box sign . You loose so much time trying to find the drop box not litted and no sing to point you in the direction of the drop box. Some one should physically check fuel reading with customer what is marked inside the center is different from what the gauge in truck reads.Adrian L.

I would suggest that a bit more attention be paid to cleaning of vehicles. The inside of the windshield was so dirty, I couldn't see very well. I spent 15 minutes cleaning the I side of the windshield. This is a safety hazard for the customer. Also, at the same time I cleaned the steering wheel and various handles. Worst location and staff ever dealt with . I picked up a trailer from this loc , someone hit it from behind so i asked them wht to do next , they didn't hlp me at all . Moreover i gave them the police report and everything (i wsnt on fault) i had insured the trailer too . They said the manager will talk to me on Monday about the incident and wht to do and expect . No-one called me on monday , i called them on tuesday , they said manager is off and was busy , call back tomorrow between this to this time , Wednesday i called them again they said the manger went home , Thursday i called them no one picked my call and now its been 2 weeks no one picks my call and i have been charged $403 for no reason without my concern and without even telling me wht happened . Lot plan is disorganized, with poor signage. Customer has to figure out where to park, and walk the entire lot looking for your truck. The 7/24 automated App is very good and UHual has done a great job of automating a cumbersome process. By knows means is it intuitive. It takes time and you need patience and, I spent 15 years in the truck rental space. Overall I like it. I didn't have any issues so I am not sure how your live chat worked or your roadside assistance. In addition the truck was well labeled, of what things were, and clear about how things worked. (Overhead height clearance notification was viable in the driver's side mirror) again, most Truck Rental CO's do not go to this level of detail. Good experience and I'd continue to work on App Dev. Maybe with repeat customers you might set up automated preferences with some type of MRA to expedite timeJohn P.

The first person I spoke to (not the one that completed the contract) and the assistant manager were extremely rude and condescending. The assistant manager shouldn't be there n customer service. She was also very rude to the lady behind me inline. The first trailer they gave me, only 1/2 of the lights worked and I was told not to worry about it that I would be fineâ€¦.I wouldn't take it so they finally gave me a different one. I have rented from uhaul in the past but after this experience I'm not sure that I will again. Employees tried to charge me an extra 100+ for a difference of 3kms when I returned the truck. I was also told I would get a refund when I returned the truck but instead I ended up owing more money. When I asked to see a receipt or breakdown of the cost the Employees started talking in their language so I couldn't understand what they were saying when I asked them to speak English so I can understand them they continued speaking another language. Customer rep was rude. She told me that the 10 feet truck can have 2 passengers, but it only have one. I need to have 2 passengers truck so I need to upgrade to a 15 feet.truck. when I come back and asked for an upgrade, the staff told me that I need to return the 10 feet truck and rent a new 15 feet truck, which cost me $68 for not using the truck at all. She also gave me a truck that can't start the engine, which wasted another 20 minutes to get a working truck. The staff did not even apologize or give me any discount for the upgrade. Instead I was charged $68 for a truck that I never used for anything other than driving home. I am frustrated and not happy with the customer service at this location.Toan T.
I rented a 10 feet truck and when I drive home, I realized it is not big enough for all my stuffs. The customer service representative told me that it has 2 passengers seat, but it only have 1 passenger seat. When I bring back the truck and asked for an upgrade, the customer service staff did not allow me to do an upgrade and told me to pay the full price of $68 for the 10 feet truck and rent a 15 feet truck through and new rental. I was charged for not using it at all without any discount. The customer service staff did not talk to me in a friendly manner at all and did not offer a discount for an upgrade. They are always very unorganized. The trucks are always blocked off and they give the wrong key, I always have to go back inside to get the right key and get them to move the trucks out. As someone who rents trailers, it is very frustrating to have to spend all of my time looking for someone to check my trailer back in. Because the trailers sit out in the yard, and there is no direct process to check them in. I often spend 15 or 20 minutes waiting for someone to show up in the yard so they can check my trailer back in.Chris B.

I was given equipment that did not meet safety standards. The equipment also required significant cleaning to be usable. Manager takes extremely long to return correspondence. I was given a credit for my troubles which I appreciate it, but after I returned the equipment I continued to be charged for tolls that did not occur during my rental period. I received an email *guaranteeing* my equipment would be available at the Queensway location, and Uhaul was unable to provide it. Then when I was forced to travel an extra 90 minutes to collect the equipment, this location *forgot* to apply the $70 award I received because of the inconvenience. I have had a unit for years and I needed the due date changed by three days because I am now retired and my pension comes in on 27th. Was told could not do this. Was charged late fee each month. Called district manager last month and was told to just pretend to move out and move right back in, all just paper work and this would change due date. She said they should have done this years ago for me. When I asked staff to do this young girl did not know how to do this procedure. Finally one of the staff knew how to do this and completed my request. This location gives worst customer service I have ever experienced and manager is never there because I have tried to talk to her for months with no success hence the call to district manager. STAY AWAY! Would DEFINETLY NOT recommend! I got a storage unit here and the girl who served me (brown hair with green tips) was having conversations with her co-workers while serving me and gave me wrong information! She told me I could put my own lock but that i had to also have a Uhaul lock that i needed to buy. I did exactly that and i told her i would be returning within a month to get my stuff out of the unit as there was a promotion for 1 month free storage with use of a Uhaul truck. I told her the exact date several times as she was distracted. I went on vacation for that month and kept getting calls from them! They called me during my vacation where i didn't have much reception and told me i needed to come to the storage unit and remove my lock as I wasn't allowed to have one. I told the girl i was told i could. She started to get mad/ sassy with me and told me if i don't remove it they will charge me 50-150$ to get it removed for me. She was very unprofessional! The manager then called me and told me that i'm a delinquent when i told the girl on the phone that I saw other people also had their own lock. Very unprofessional coming from a manger! The manager never addressed the wrong information i was given by their workers! Instead she asks me when i will be picking up my stuff, which I had already informed the girl with green tips, on the first day, several times as she was distracted talking to her co-worker! Highly unqualified workers and bad management! Being on vacation and having to deal with them and reporting it to Uhaul was a huge hassle and inconvenience! The lady was very rude to me. After took more the 4hrs of waiting and traveling. A long day. I am handicap lady. It took a toll on me. Traveling from Toronto storage space. Told me that there was no unit. I had reservation number. The man that worked at Queensway started yelling at my daughter. Told us where wasting are time here. I was in tears and emotional knowing I did not have storage space. I have never seen customer service was so awful and despectful. The staff in Queensway should be fired. The way me and my daughter was treated so awful. She called me on the way to Brampton she did not give the correct address of storage. We went to the wrong location. We had 15 minutes to get to the other location. When we arrived to the 2nd location. Only 10 by 10 was avaliable . The lady was so rude and told me that I can't get in the storage room. Cause it's after 700. I total lost it on her. I told where not leaving. One of the mover spoke to the lady. Finally they came up with the solution and let us in. I would like to compensated for all I been through. The movers had to leave. I had to find another mover to help. It was crazy exhausting experience. One Staff did not have access to collect payments. Male employee were condescending to employees and customers. Simrsnjit Kaur could not respond to questions or her respond was opposite, and she was preoccupied with conversation with male staff than helping customers, but seemed to be the only staff member able to do all tasks. U-Haul review 1.Nobody EVER answers the phone at this location. The line is ALWAYS fowarded to the USA customer service line. Nice as they are, the US agents could rarely resolve my local problems. It was extremely frustrating not ever getting a live local employee on the phone in an entire year. 2. I requested an email reminder be sent to me when the storage locker payment was coming due. Was told it was not possible to do that (despite the fact I'd had them sent to me from my other two U-Haul storage rentals.) After I called the customer service line in the US directly to request it, the email reminders magically started to appear. 3. Every other UHaul storage facility I've used gave access to the lockers after store hours up to 10pm. You apparently have to specifically request it with this one. Could not get in my locker two days in a row until access was "granted". Still took 24 hrs to process, causing moving out delays for me. This location needs to start picking up the phone and offering live customer service directly to their clients instead of throwing them all over to the US side to handle.Laurie E. | Overall Experience

You stand in line for such a long time only to be greeted, or the lack of happy greeting, with someone who does t even smile or look at you. I was informed I was ready to move in by email by general manager with a standard welcome greeting email; upon loading my vehicle and arriving on-site I could not access the building and numerous call to customer service( proving unless) they were not able to help. Later on after 3 hours on-site waiting for a resolution, I was informed due to being a new customer my access will take 24 hours to be in the system. All this would have be avoided if the site manager had sent this in an email to me. This proves my time was not important and because I rented a small unit I was not priority. As a result of the level of service and misinformation I was given in regards to moving in I will not be doing business with this or any U-Haul locations. The storage was excellent, I should have rented the van from you however. My experience with one of your local dealers at Tostam Event Rental was horrible. The van was poorly maintained and the exhaust was very loud. The check engine light came on 5 minutes into my trip. The lady that rented the vehicle then called me after I dropped it off saying I returned it without the muffler, that it was my fault and then she tried to extort money from me to fix it. She was unreasonable to deal with and is a poor ambassador for the U-Haul brand. I hope that bad actors such as this are punished because the experience for the customer was awful. I understand that each dealer is independent of the others. The storage facility was great though it took me a while to figure out how to get in. I would definitely recommend your facility. If I could give zero stars, I would. This location provided the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had by far. The staff and manager were very unprofessional and lacked knowledge. I will never used nor will I ever recommend Uhaul storage to anyone. For almost 1 month after moving out, I was harassed 2-3 times a week about a unit I no longer had. The staff sit around on their cell phones rather than assist customers and the manager is always “in a meeting” or “unavailable”. She also never returns phone calls or messages. My storage was broken in. Burglary happened in my storage. I have almost $70 k stuff missing from the u haul storage. I had this storage from last 4.5 years. The storage facility is good and fit for purpose but I am quite disappointed that there are no lifts to take heavy items upstairs. I had so many things to take up to the storage lockers upstairs and there was no way I could get them across without the help of another customer. I had injuries trying to get my stuff up.
