The Rep entered wrong drop off location. I had a one way reservation from Brampton to Cambridge. The girl on the counter confirmed the same with me but still ended up entering bracebridge as the drop off location instead of Cambridge. The fuel gauge reading was also incorrect on the contract and I took pictures to confirm that, later which I used to show to the rep at the drop off location to avoid extra fuel charges. While trying to complete the return at the drop of location the U-Haul rep told me I'll be charged $158 for different drop off location. I had to call U-Haul customer service multiple times to get to the right person and get my destination changed. Later the same rep at the drop off location told me that I am getting charged with extra fuel credit which even he didn't knew what that was for? I was allotted 130 Miles and I drove 61 miles only and refilled the fuel with extra and over the previous reading. I called U-Haul the rep I spoke to couldn't understand a thing and was clueless about this charge and hung up on me. I had to call again explained the situation and I was promised a callback by the general manager of the location, which was never full filled. I am still getting a run around to get the extra charge off my credit card. In all a very very poor experience and pathetic customer service.Ankur S.

The booking experience was not great. I booked 3 months in advance. I got a phone call 1 week after booking to say I can't book for 48hr. I got told my booking will be confirmed 24h before pick up. Impossible to plan, not knowing if my reservation will be confirmed. No one called me 24h before pick... but I showed up, the truck was there, I got the truck for the time needed... smooth check-in and check-out. Happy in the end.David B.

The csr that check us in was laughing and having a great time with the customers before us, before even speaking to him I felt like I had ruined his day with how cold he was. I had a very unpleasant experience with a last minute pick up location change and when we picked up the truck, it really solidified how unhappy I was with UHaul. The truck was not swept out but had a sign to charge us $25 extra dollars if we did not return it swept. We didn't get clear directions on where to go and were told to go find the truck number, I gave the csr my ID then asked if he needed my husband's who was driving, he went through the process of scanning my ID then asked why I was taking a photo of my husband- I repeated that he was the one driving and we had to redo the process with the proper ID. I ended up speaking with the woman working who was clear and answered my questions but also showed me common courtesy as a customer who was paying hundreds of dollars.Alana K.

Trailer still had construction debris inside, only realized this when I got to my destination. You literally had one job to do. Your yard staff might need a touch up lesson on that fact that not everyone is a expert at reversing a 17foot trailer in tight spaces. Losing patience with someone cause they can't get it exactly where the staff want the trailer is just not good business practice. In the end the trailer served it's purpose so won't give less than 3 stars but will also vote with my wallet and go elsewhere next time. It takes forever to get in contact with anyone working at Uhaul, over the phone took me nearly 45 minutes and in person was not much better as i waited in line for 30 minutes. The lady helping advised I could use the uhaul untill EOD Sunday and when i asked about dropping it off after they close at 7pm she said its not problem but didn't mention any HIDDEN FEES. Even if you submit it 20 minutes after close, they will charge you a full extra days worth. She also knew I was going to Montreal but failed to mention additional costs related to this. After returning the uhaul i was charged an additional 85$ which was unexpected and was not advised by the lady working at Uhaul. I should mention none of those charges are related to damage or fuel, just hidden fees no one mentioned I had to pay to return the uhaul.ROMAIN L.

Waiting to speak with an agent is extremely frustrating. It takes at least 20 minutes each time with a non-stop repetitive message and static-sounding music that could not be more annoying, I'm in the service industry and understand the difficulties in managing high-volume calls, but one of your management staff needs to call on your system to really understand how exasperating this holding experience is and to see how this can be improved upon. Change the music, change the repetitive message, and hire more staff. 20 minutes is way way too long to wait for people who are moving, on the road, in an emergency situation, etc. Totally unacceptable. One agent I spoke to was incredibly condescending and rude when I simply wanted to read back details of the pickup. 2 other agents were very pleasant , patient and lovely to speak with, very helpful.Isaiah T.

Your online pickup and drop off service leaves a lot to be improved. System couldn't recognize that I was at the location (even though location services was turned on on my phone). Told me the headshot photo I took was not a headshot photo, and told me the license photo I took was not a photo of a license. Also had to put my licence in twice.....once via a text message request and the second time when I picked the truck up. Also going back and forward between the main building to the truck parking lot and back to the main building to pick up the key was a real waste of time. Training your staff would be a good idea too. Went to pick up the key and the boy that served me looked at the screen of my phone that told him the truck number and that the customer name. He got the key but then sat at the computer for ages and was then on the phone to someone for ages too. Eventually a girl came out to help him and I heard him say that he couldn't give me the key because the truck was showing in the system as being rented to someone. The girl asked me my name, which I confirmed, and she said yes it is rented out to someone....HIM!!! In total the online pickup process took almost 45 minutes, so why it's advertised as â€œskip the line and save timeâ€ I am not sure, because I would have been quicker going in to the building and doing the pickup in the conventional way. On a positive note the truck was very clean and in great condition, so absolutely no complaints about that!Erik S.

It would be to your advantage to try to have more staff scheduled at the end/beginning of the month when more moves occur. The staff is often stressed out , overwhelmed and overworked! They actually did not put my termination of my rental unit in the computer system properly , as the agent was overwhelmed and wrongly charged another month (now corrected). As usual , there was a long lineup at month's end. The problem is that are only one lineup and often are so long. Everyone is put into one lineup : truck rentals and other complicated rental agreements ( that take a long time) and then other retail purchases that takes a minute. . There should be a line up just for simple merchandise transactions that just take minutes , so you don't have to stand in line half an hour for example just to buy tape or boxes . But I also appreciated that it was very secure in that you had to enter a code to enter and exit and the locks were supplied. One problem area is the online booking process. When booking the unit, I completed the application but it did not work. When I realized that there was no email confirmation, I phoned and there was no record of the application and the process had to be repeated on the phone. When we were booking the truck the same thing happened. It could have been a real disaster if I had not followed up by phone. I had stored belongings of mine for about three and a half years in the Bramalea storage unit . It was very convenient to get in and out of when I needed something. And the area was kept clean and the price wasn't bad. I did have one issue though. I was away from my storage unit for 1 year, and when I went back to get my stuff I was surprised to see many mouse droppings. So that would be the only negative. I had to throw out a mattress and box spring, as well as two other boxes of towels. There was no lighting in the storage unit which made it difficult to see anything. The late fees were expensive and added on after only a couple days which I thought was too soon. I felt like I was paying too much for my unit every month. The staff were always very friendly and helpful but they didn’t always know the answers to simple questions.
