REGINA MWhen checking in online I did not select the extra insurance. When I added in an extra named driver at the office however, it ended up on the bill. I did not notice until after we dropped it off but it was disappointing to see the bill doubled even though we initially selected to decline the insurance. There must have also been a water spill in the back of the truck. With the cold temperatures it has frozen and made the truck very slippery. The office staff were very polite and helpful as always though.

Otha JThe truck I was put in was not maintained. The transmission was very rough and also everytime the truck got up to 45 or 50 it would start to shake really bad forward and back like a chugging feeling. Mechanically just bad.

EDISON VCalled Thursday to make appointment with Marc. Gave all of my information. Did not get the text confirmation. Showed up at my scheduled time and found out the appointment was never made. Luckily they had a truck. Equipment was good no problems. Returned the vehicle same day after hours. Put keys in drop box. Then received a phone call two days later. Employee asked me if I was going to return the vehicle? I responded that the vehicle was returned and in your parking lot. 5 mins on hold later there came back and said they found it. Too my it shows bad follow through and lack of communication. Good luck with that.

He didn't secure the chain properly and it fell off. I felt like I was more of a inconvenience to him. I would not recommend this location to ANYONE!
BRIAN MHad a van scheduled for 9am pick up. One of the employees came in late. The other employee was dealing with a problem with another customer and never acknowledged me. Waited 1/2 for Van, caused a problem with my plans.

DAVID BTruck was in well used condition. It did the job for a few hours, but it’s seen better days. Seat cover torn horribly. Steering wheel literally shedding tiny pieces in hands. Front window shield sealing material coming loose and flapping in the wind. Would not be safe for long distance drives. Time to retire this bad boy U-Haul.

Walter MWORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! We had multiple issues with the U-HAUL at BROADVIEW, IL. (1) BREAKDOWN: The vehicle we had rented broke down in the middle of the expressway. It took U-Haul multiple multiple hours of delay. U-Haul roadside assistance DID NOT provide any updates on when we can have help. We called multiple times from the side of the Expressway, which was very dangerous to be for hours and hours. Once the mechanic came and decided to tow us to the nearest facility at late night, they DID NOT start the work until we went in person the next morning to explain the problem. Then it took 4 hours to fix it. We LOST over 24 hours and we had a very important appointment the next day when we had originally planned to be at our destination. We lost not only over 24 hours of our time , we also lost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS because we were not at our destination due to not getting timely support from U-Haul. (2) LACK OF COMMUNICATIONS: (1) U-Haul did not provide updates or couldn't tell us an ETA when roadside assistance will be received. (2) Someone from the Broadway, IL location called us the next day to ask for "what happened", then this person said they can give us credit for the rentals, but NO ONE CALLED US BACK on what that is, and we have still NOT received any communications from U-Haul on compensation. (3) WORST EXPERIENCE WITH RETURNING U-HAUL: When we made the U-Haul reservation, we had clearly mentioned that we are renting at one location and returning at a different location out-of-state. U-Haul had sent us an email with the location address on where to return. We returned the vehicle 1-day before the actual return date and dropped the keys at the key box. Just to be sure, I went into the U-Haul the next morning when they opened to confirm they got our keys. Our experience after this was nothing but a DISASTER AND A NIGHTMARE. The return location said that they cannot take the vehicle as we have to return at the original location which was out of state. We spent over 5-hours of our time to get this sorted out with the BROADVIEW, IL location as stated. below. When I called the Wisconsin U-Haul line (414-316-6552) to discuss the issue with returning the truck, they patched me through to Marc at the Broadview location. He asked me to email him the original order summary, which I did. When he called me back, he said that one of their employees gave us an “in-town” truck at the time of pick up and that it was changed to a round trip, where the truck should have been returned to Broadview. I said that at no point were we informed of this, and it was unacceptable because our plan was always to bring the truck up to our original destination, as the order summary started. Marc then said my two options were to either drive the truck back to an Illinois location or to pay the fee for a wrong drop off location. I told him neither of those options were acceptable because one of their employees made the mistake, and we should not have to be penalized for that. At no point in this conversation did he ever say that he actually didn’t have the ability to change how the contract was written in the system, and that it could actually be changed by calling someone at the state level. When I did call the Destination location number back, they transferred me to Raquel (x857301) in the Illinois office. Raquel was excellent, and she was able to revert the contract back to the original and intended drop of location. I am incredibly frustrated with the approach that Marc at Broadview took with us. He made it seem like he had the power to change the contract, and that he was simply refusing to do so. He also never recommended that I call anyone else. All of that aside, he also admitted that an employee at his location made a mistake, but told me that we at the customer would need to pay the price for that mistake. I do not believe this is how you want the uhaul comment to be represented. U-HAUL owes us thousands of dollars for our time, for their poor customer service, for their staff being rude to me and my wife, and most of all for that important appointment we missed due to lack of communication from U-Haul and we lost thousands of dollars and time. (4) THIS SURVEY IS A SHAM: I am unable to "select" No for "timely arrival" or other questions. This survey only allows me to select "positive" radio buttons!!! Did TOWING COMPANY arrive at the time promised? I want to respond "No" but it only allows me to select "Yes".
Sivachandran SEverything was fine until I got a call from U-Haul several days later asking why I had not returned the trailer. I pointed out the trailer was returned to this location at 7 AM the next day. The caller said, oh, I see that now. He said the trailer was checked in or something like that. Sorry for bothering you. Could the caller not have checked that before calling me?

I made a reservation for a 10 foot truck, and then was told when I called to confirm that they do not have a 10 foot available, despite my reservation that I made an hour previously. Then after a few minutes of asking why they made my reservation if they didn’t have it, they told me they DID have one and I can come now to rent it. When I got there, they once again told me that they do not have a 10 foot. They ended up giving me a 15 foot for the price of the 10, but get it together U-Haul. I’m not sure what happened that day, but the organization was definitely lacking.

I called this location for two weeks straight, Monday through Friday and I never got a response. When I asked for a printout for my unit I was told the printer was broke. You all need to do better… this is unacceptable!

And then when i tried to put my things in storage, they didn’t have my storage and sent me to two other places as well. The last storage had to split into to storages and by the time they figured it out it was about to close so i had to leave my things on the truck .

I was constantly given wrong information, my account information was messed up, even after I had called customer service and updated it two times. I was told I can vacant my unit a week after my bill's next payment cycle and I will not be charged, but I was charged for the entire month. Chris, who apparently was a fake name and did not work at the location that we rented the unit provided me other wrong information and just made my move day misurable and exteremly stressful.
