Very slow pickup, single agent, quite busy with a long lineup. Van wasn't full of fuel so it was a bit challenging to refill to the exact same point. The app just crashes, the website kicks you out repeatedly, and the whole experience leaves you frustrated.

I arrived at my scheduled time to wait another 45 minutes to be helped. Then spent another 45 minutes repairing my hitch plug to only find out the trailer signal light was burned out. Very poor experience.

Picking up the booked trailer was a nightmare to accomplish. We had parked in the stall to fill a pick up form. The persons at the desk seemed confused that I was there for a trailer. Payment was attempted with debit, but changed to credit as I had noticed a unannounced and hidden $20 debit fee was added to my total. Once the rental for the trailer and blankets had been resolved. Side note, no one knows where these are. Some find them before you rent them. Or you'll end up paying for nothing. The next stage of hitching up the trailer was the next mile stone to get through. Our truck had been blocked in with a trailer dropped off from another customer and unloaded by staff. Asking staff to hitch the trailer must have been equivalent to getting an arm amputated. At least that is how it seemed. They told us that we should have notified them of our arrival (I had just come from the office that had radioed for a trailer). I wonder if maybe some come to Uhaul parking just to hang on the regular? The loading staff were inconvenienced with moving the trailer blocking us in, and would not answer or communicate with regards to were I should move to be hitched. I made a decision and lined up with the direction of the trailer to be hitched. This surely would have made hitching the trailer less inconvenient than consuming and entire flat of laxatives right before boarding a flight to Australia with no working washrooms, right? I was then informed that I could not leave in that direction and had to turn around in the tight lot, as the exit to the uhaul loading and unloading area is now blocked with the same trailer that previously blocked us in the stall. Moving forward to the hitching on the trailer once all was resolved. We found out that Uhaul uses a 2” hitch ball. And I could not run home to grab the right sized hitch ball as that would leave my trailer for the next person to show. That would not be ok as it would cause quite the fiasco and confusion amongst the entire staff. So a ball must be purchased from the front office, for $40. “NOT rented or available for refund. Don't worry, with receipt it was. We were now able to hitch and carry on with our move. Returning the trailer was not as painful but still challenging. End of the day. Moving was easier than picking up and returning the trailer. I would advise any other options. As there was not more than one brain cell between any one working there. Rating 5 thumbs down. Than you for coming this has been my Ted talk.

Overall experience was excellent! I made an error on the type of trailer I needed to rent. Thanks to Hillary, at the Meridian Road UHaul in Calgary she was able to locate the correct trailer for me at another UHaul near by. and transfer the reservation. What could have been a disaster of of moving day, thanks to Hillary's excellent Customer Service skills and knowledge of the UHaul system, turned out to be a good move. GN

SO many things happened. My reservation was at 11:30 AM. For no reason, I get a message the night before, saying that it's at 12:00 PM. Fine. I arrive at 11:55. I had reserved a dolly, no dollies available. Not for me not for anyone who had also reserved one. But that was just the beginning of my problems! I had paid 125$ for the condominium board to reserve the elevator from 12:30 to 4:30. I also paid 300$ for a moving team for the same times. System lagging. Everyone is waiting for Vincent the manager to show up, Vincent is nowhere to be found. Turns out his employee/wife is not feeling well and he's busy checking up on her every now and then. He finally comes and fills in the wrong information for the system to accept it by entering a random towing number. I learn that the U-boxes are not yet hooked to a truck as my reservation required. By now, it's 1:10. I beg them to please, while filling all this paperwork, ask someone to hook the towing to the truck. No one replies. I learn that all the staff, all two receptionists and the guy preparing my truck, have been here for a maximum of 3 weeks. Not their fault, they're still learning and it's understandable. I go to get the truck and hook the towing, they tell me sorry it's the wrong towing number. Go back to the reception. I go back and the receptionist says we need Vincent, but where's Vincent? Took his employee/wife home! No manager on-site, only very kind employees but with a maximum of 2-3 weeks experience! They resolve the problem as best they can, I go back to the guys trying to attach the towing to the truck I rented, I notice that a lock is broken on my U-box. Employees took pictures, had to go back to the reception to add that to the file. I go back to the guys, not attached yet. Then I notice that one tire is deflated almost to the ground. They finally attach the towing and go to get it inflated. Long story short, the manager wasn't managing, employees with barely any experience (yet very kind and professional) left alone, no dollies, wrong appointment times, broken lock on U-box (still checking if we're missing anything), etc. Arrived home at 2:00, with everyone waiting for me and my money paid for nothing, had to pay them overtime. Very bad experience!

First of all the trailer I reserved was not available 6x12 they checked the entire Calgary area and could not locate a 6x12 so I had to complete my 3 bedroom house move with a 5x8 trailer causing additional trips and extra fuel spent. I was then told I would recieve a $50 reservation guarantee which I have not yet recieved. I will never use uhaul again. Best regards.

The customer service desk / check in was not professional or knowledgeable at all. They had poor communication, didn't explain what they were doing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I've been to many Uhaul locations around Calgary and this one was by the far the worst (personnel wise). Location was good and the truck was also good. Got a low tire pressure warning on my drive back and had to top it off but otherwise the truck was fine.

Fuel tank was under 1/4 tank when picked up. Customer service desk moved at location and no signage to indicate so. Drop off area crowded and difficult to navigate. Customer service agents seemed miserable.

I had to drive extra 5 miles to pick up and return the truck. In the past I was able to pick up at closest drop off but when I used computer to book the truck I received a call saying tge truck was only available at “main” depot! So I accepted from “main”! This cost me extra time and mileage and fuel… not happy! Even though I booked truck in advance! Tge check out person was very sliw even though I had ysed computer to book she worked on check out for at least 15 minutes! Truck was not clean, passenger mirror was broken and fuel guage was at 1/8 of tank not 1/4 as predicted! Your computer return is clumsy and I took all pictures before I parked the truck but then found out I couldn't insert them from picture file! If there is any discrepancies please contact me by email and I will send photos! I have rented Uhaul trucks and trailers for over 50 years but ext tome I will try Penske as Uhaul is disorganized and not worth dealing with any longer

It wasn't this location that I had a terrible experience with, it was 2615 12 St NE. It wasn't the people who were working fault. The lack of organization, lack of management, wait in line was brutal. I waited for 2 hours just to be told they didn't have the truck I reserved and had to go to another location. The 36 ST SE location was awesome, but it was also later in the day and they weren't as busy. What is the point of the reservation system and appointment for pickup if neither of them even work? We need another moving truck in June and I will definitely be considering my other options after this experience. Pretty poor from such a big company.

There was people ahead of us when we arrived early to pick up our reserved trailer, it ended up taking over 30mins before we were able to get help at the counter, so overall put me back around 45mins from my planned morning. Service at counter was fine. Trailer/truck parking layout was a tight mess, barely able to get my truck to the trailer, staff was unable to connect trailer properly so I just ended up doing it myself. Trailer worked fine with no issues. Won't be back to this location.

Make it easier to get a hold of someone when you call. Provide a clearer information when wanting to rent equipment. More than one occasion I was told that I could rent a trailer for 5 days round trip, to be transferred to dispatch and then told No . I called one more time…day before I needed a trailer that I could do a one way rent. This applies to when you call in to book.

I was given a truck with 1/4 a tank, I find this very annoying. I have no knowledge of how much gas the vehicle consumes and had to put gas in it before starting my move. I accidentally put more than needed and there's no reimbursement at all, on the flip side if it was under you would charge me. Definitely a double standard and not something I agree with.

I had two different drop off locations- my order asked me to drop off at a different location from our pick up. When we took it to the first location, they wouldn't accept the truck (EVEN THOUGH it said to drop it off THERE) and told us to take it to the other location. This cost us extra time and money and I'm honestly disappointed.

I didn't get the equipment I ordered. I did get a refund for the missing equipment but it was a major inconvenience. I had a schedule to keep so I couldn't wait around for a hour to talk to someone and get what I had rented so I went without. When I returned the truck at the end of the day I had to wait in line twice so that I could get a refund. I don't have an issue with any of the employees since they were doing the best they could. It was busy and clearly understaffed. For a company that specializes in helping people move I find it ironic that uhaul was my ONLY issue on moving day.

I personally did not do the drop off so can't really comment. However, we were told that our drop off location would be 'unspecified' so we could drop the trucks off wherever was convenient. This turned out to be wrong. We were simply assigned a drop off location which turned out to be the opposite side of Calgary to where we were with the trucks. A phone call changed the drop off location, but we were still quite limited as to where we could take them. This information ahead of time would have been helpful.

The pick-up experience was as expected for 11:00 am, however the drop-off was something else. I get the impression that this location is busy all of the time, we were waved through the drop-off area as it was full of trucks and we were only dropping off a motorcycle trailer so it made perfect sense to get us out of the way. I disconnected the trailer from where I had picked it up earlier and made my way to the office, where I was told to go back and someone would be with me shortly. We waited 45 minutes before my wife went to the office in an attempt to get some assistance. She got the same response. Finally a young worker came down to park a box and I flagged him down and asked him if he would be able to help us. Thankfully he did and after an hour of waiting we were able to leave. I'm sure that weekends are probably the busiest time for U-Hauls everywhere but you may want to consider looking at the staffing/management levels at this location.

Please make sure you can training your personnel very good, because they did a mistake when they entered all the information to the system. They mixed up everything and then I received an extra charge from U-Haul that I need to pay around $3,792.17 for a mistake that I didn't do. I call U-Haul customer service in order to refund me that amount from my credit card. Really, bad experience.

Horrible experience. We waiting in line for over 40mins before even reaching the counter. When we got our keys we walked the parking lot for 20mins with the staff as nobody could find our vehicle. It wAs complete chaos and staff had no idea what was going on. Would never recommended this location. Will not return.

Thank you so much for making the moving truck the easiest and seamless part of our move. We were in and out with keys in 10 mins and you were very convenient with letting us have a later drop off. The whole digital system was very seamless aswell. Will continue to use uhaul and recommended it to everyone that is moving or needs a rental. Keep up the great work. Also thanks for all the extras like boxes and mattress covers… that came in very handy

Huge wait times. More staff needed and a line should be added for customers who use quick check in. I waited over an hour by the time I left with my trailer. Parking lot was cluttered with dirt and garbage. I was worried I might get a nail in my tires. Layout to pick up equipment made it hard to pull out the trailer I rented.

The line up at 9:30 was not good. I stood in line for almost 30 minutes. The front staff were very good. I spoke to the front staff on the phone before returning my trailer and they were very helpful. The staff in the yard were also very professional and helpful. First we had struggled to check in with the app and needed to have an extra id in addition to a drivers license which we didn't know so had to go get it from our hotel a one hour and 30 minutes trip. When we had gone through the process of checking in multiple times where your agents keep closing the sessions for one reason or the other e.g. they couldn't see the picture clearly etc. Finally after 1 hour we were able to get the code of the lock. But the lock that was placed on the box was broken i.e. it opened up but the broken part was in the way and was a nightmare to slide the broken part aside to open it. Anyways when finally got the truck at midnight and noticed that there was a check engine light on! So called the service at around 1 am on the day before our planned move early in the morning where we had movers planned to come at 8 am at the storage location 20 miles away. We were told to drive the truck as is 3600 kms! So we did, while worrying all the way about what will we do if it dies on us. Extremely stressful experience!

The returning of equipment was a disaster. After waiting on your help line for 35 minutes, after using chat option. Install and removing and installing your app. Still I couldn't upload pictures of trailer. I sit on parking lot around 40 minutes. After 35 minutes I was available to talk with Your representative. And She check all and told me I ok to go. What my suprise was when o was charge for extra day of rent. Because I was told I didn't bring trailer on time. Even if I bring it 2 hours before my time was over. So I think You need to improve Your returning idea. Because what ever You do know is not so good.

I was sent to this location because where I booked did not have the truck I needed, it put me out of my way. The business hours were not the same as what the website said. Upon inspection I found the windshield wiper was broken instead of changing it the one attendant wasted time by trying to fix it which you could see the clips were broken,

Inside of trailer could have been cleaner walls/floor but compared to other UHaul units rented in Calgary this locationd unitwas acceptable. The gal at reception was excellent and the young fella who hooked up the trailer was knowledgable and proficient.

Great front counter woman however the manager was completely non receptive over the rate charge per kilometer during week day rates. He made excuses even after \I pointed out the rate on their Canadian website. I had to contact head office ( which were fantastic to deal with) to correct the rate charge because the store manager was totally incompetent .It makes me wonder how many other customers are getting ripped off because he seemed to not care at all. By the way the correct amount was $130.00 less than what he was charging me. Make sure he charges you .79 cents not .99 cents during the weekdays especially if your travelling alot of kms.

I tried to call in today leave a comment and the woman that I spoke with asked me to hold them hung up lol. So here's the thing, the location I picked up from is extremely disorganized. They tried to upswell me on their ‘new storage' but they're 24 hour cameras they advertise weren't even connected. Fail1. Now more important, the service at the checkout was extremely slow, it took 15 mins to complete the rental process , that's absurd but your business so if this is acceptable again, not the end of the world. What is a significant issue however is the port guy that was 3 days on the job that I met. It was incredibly obvious he had 0 training. The place was fairly busy and needed someone to control traffic , and to guide where to go to and how to load a unit. It was seriously unsafe, I witnessed someone almost back over someone else, I know a larger uhaul unit crashed into a trailer and just keep driving, it was a mess. Now, not this poor guys fault at all. He was working extremely hard but there was a problem there as well, he was obviously not taught properly how to pickup a trailer, he's going to get hurt. So all in, there were at least a dozen major safety issues and I plan to file a complaint with Occupational Health. Feel free to give me a call if you'd like to discuss.

The inside of the vehicle was very dirty and there was screws, nuts and bolts all over. It was os bad that I had to place blankets down on the floor to keep my furniture from getting dirty. The second thing I was disappointed in was I was told that the gas was at 3/4 full and when I entered the vehicle the gas was at 1/2 so I took a picture of the gas gauge and the mileage to show where it was when I obtained it. I was very disappointed.

1. Although I completed online check-in ahead of time, including attaching copies of my driver's license, the agent was not able to confirm that on location. Also, when I took & uploaded photos of the same on location using the one-time upload link that the agent sent me, that did not work either: the web page reported the upload as successful but the agent was not able to see the uploaded images. So in the end the agent had to take photos of my license herself. 2. When completing self-service truck return last evening, the page on the end told me that I should receive a new invoice detailing the charges. However, I still have not recieved that

Ensure staff are checking equipment prior to renting out. I picked up a trailer and loaded it at home and found one of the tires deflated. Checked tire pressures, 1 tire was at 33 psi while the other was 13 psi. Had to request service to get tire replaced. Not a good experience.

the facility was a mess. maybe they are renovating but right now it is a real mess. very dirty, very uncomfortable - even for the employees, poor guys - and very insecure. when i arrived to load my container (which i did not know it, because i was told it was a storage place, not a box) i was left alone in the facility. i imagine if a burglar had this kind of access... The place itself is far away from a well organized UHaul facility. There's not enough space to the amount of trailers, vans and trucks. For manouvering a truck or a car with a trailer, it's very very hard for an amateur driver. The staff was always nice, nothing to complain, only congratulate them for their work in this very hard workspace.

My credit card had gotten charged for the first month of the storage containers that I had booked.. When I had booked it online, it clearly says that the first month's storage rent is free. When I was at the store, they had confirmed that the first payment will be charged on Aug 28th instead of July 28th. Please reverse the charges or do not charge my credit card for the second month of storage.
