We weren't told that the furniture pads were rental, YES it was written on the contract but knowing the stress of moving and this being our first experience with UHaul, it needed to be emphasized at the time of pick-up. Everything else was mentioned except the fact that the pads needed to be returned. We didn't even keep them and ended up giving them to our helpers.Ashkan G.

Matthew Santos, your employee with whom I made the reservation was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I felt like I was being listened to. I felt like he truly cared about how well my U-Haul experience would go. He was there to correct mistakes made by others in a professional and expedient manner. Despite the trying circumstances he inherited from his co-worker, who shall remain nameless, he remained positive and challenged himself to think on the spot, ultimately resolving several issues that he encountered. He exceeded my expectations of superior customer service. I would like to see him promoted. He embodies what customer service is all about. He genuinely cares and is a serious professional, well beyond his years from the looks of it. He's only going to rise to whatever challenge he is granted and excel and grow through it all. Charged me $56.00 for less than a 1/4 tank of gas. What a rip off. My fault for not tipping off. Won't make the mistake agitation. Paul used to be so friendly and helpful but now it's just a majorrip off. Would avoid it altogether I could. Also had previous issues with over charging. There was some confusion when I first went in to see about a storage unit. The person I talked to said there was a ten foot by ten foot unit available and that if I wanted it I had to rent it then as there was no reserving. I went to get money and when I returned I was told by a different person that unit was reserved. I was put on a waiting list and was called two days later as a different unit had become available, so I did get that unit. It worked out just fine thank you.Michael E. | First Impressions

I was called last minute to be told I they had to change my reservation to two days in advance which I wasn't available for. Then the location they sent me to pick up the truck near me that was confirmed to have my truck, didn't have my truck size. I had to drive 30 miles which in Los Angeles is very far, an hour away each way, to pick up another truck. Which cost an absorbent amount of miles and gas. That I had to pay for on my end. This was an error on U-Haulâ€˜s behalf and I had paid for it. Not to mention it being 115Â° That day. By changing the pick up day they also change my drop off location to a place that I could not do mobile drop off on the day intended. Causing an additional serious inconvenience of me having to call off of work to return the truck.Bria B.

I have been renting trailers from the Canyon Country outlet for years now and have been using the same vehicle. The last trailer has an electrical problem that burned my tail lights fuse twice. Please repair it.IVAN B.

This location was great. I had rented from this location originally, then uhaul sent me a text that they moved me to another location. Further, the 20 foot truck was not available and I could only get the 17 foot truck. I then called uhaul and told them the new location was to far away and they gave me a new location closer to me. I arrived at the new location and there was no truck available. The new location then booked me a 20 foot truck at the original location I had asked for. The regional manager of uhaul called me to apologize and promised a $50 discount on my bill. I didn't ask for it but I was happy for the offer. With that said, I don't think I've received the discount as of yet. I'll keep looking!Josh L.

The gentleman helping us didn’t seem to know how to check us in. I’m assuming he’s new but with how much he struggled it felt like he still needed training or someone assisting with the check in. Our unit now has a few different peoples information on it simply because my spouse and I can’t have the same address? How does that even make sense. Then when confirming what I reserved he rattled off the wrong unit. So we had to correct that. Once we got through the actual check in he handed us a map and flagged down someone to take us back to the unit. This is where I would rate the entire experience poor at best. There are random vehicles just stored everywhere. There is no clear access to our unit. What was most frustrating was due to the fact you can’t actually drive up to our unit (poor planning and layout on uhauls behalf) he didn’t mention maybe backing the trailer up so we could at least cut down some of the foot traffic. It’s frustrating because we rented a rather large unit and you physically can not drive up to the thing. Had I known how poor the layout was I wouldn’t have chosen the facility at all. So, after booking a 26ft trailer two weeks in advance and getting cancelled three days in before a move and tight timeframe, thankfully Lorna from the Storage King location was so kind to help us out and give us some tips. I get that people extend their rental, which is what we did Saturday morning to be met with scare tactics and a severely upset employee from Canyon County location. Corporate UHaul is great with customer service but there really should be someone who does quality control checks on independent stores. We always use U-Haul for all our moving needs and let our family and friends know the ease of it online. I really think U-Haul has a unique advantage over all others. For the first time, we used the recommended movers.com to help us. Much to our dismay, the movers in AZ cancelled at 11:00AM. We were charged and additional $140.00 for the last minute replacement. As a company, they are not up to the same standards that U-Haul has. Even though it was their mistake, they made us pay for it. Our hands were tied since we were on a tight schedule. I hear that you are not associated with them, just thought you might want to know about our experience with the first mover group, especially since they didn’t show up, we can’t put that experience on their website I am told. We have always enjoyed U-Haul and the 26 foot truck was totally awesome, a great drive and a great deal! Thanks to U-Haul for always being there for us and the extremely fair pricing! Everything fine.....except I lost my key to my lock (that was in the unit when I rented it).....Uhaul did not have a record of the key so i could obtain a duplicate. Therefore i had to call a locksmith for $100. It will teach me to not misplace my key. It would be nice if Uhaul could always keep a duplicate of their clients keys. I had reserved a van in advance. When I arrived there were six people standing in line and only one person processing arrivals. I had to stand for 35 minutes. The young man behind the desk was cheerful, but the facility was woefully understaffed during Christmas week. When I returned my rental truck to this location, the gas gauge was the same as when I rented the truck in Redding. The employee said the computer reported the gas level low and hit me with a $20 gas charge.. It is a real shame that U-Haul would, trade customer loyalty for $20, but that was you decision.
