Only 1 day rental at 19.99 I returned with extra gas than required. Overcharged almost $67.00. for: mileage- 1 x .49=..49 cents gas $7.12 tax, and 2 extra days of rental 39.99. Insurance-Quoted $10.00 charged $20.00 Gas $7.12 How many other people are being defrauded?! Disputing with Canyon Country, CA U-Haul, my bank, and reporting to Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and posting on social media to warn others of locations' intentional practice of ethical wrongdoing. Other than that, the vehicle was great! Local reviews warned of overcharging, I should have gone to another location. U-Haul locations are franchises.

The truck you gave me stalled out 4 times on me and I had to keep it in neutral while at a stop light to keep it from stalling on me . Although the customer service was great the vehicle was not. This will not stop me from coming back to rent again. Hope you can fix this problem. Thank you

The girl at the desk seemed miserable.
The share app technology did not work after multiple attempts. Myself and another customer had to wait for close to 20 minutes. Once the manager realized that the barcode had an issue, I had to wait in line before he had to cancel my reservation and start a new one. I waited for over half an hour total. As I was billed for time, I am not sure I was billed the correct amount. The whole idea of this technology is to reserve in advance, walk up scan a barcode, give keys to your vehicle finish the process and drive away. None of this worked.

I had issues returning my Van. I was told i had the wrong location and was almost charged extra fees even though i arrived at the location stated on my service contract. I had to wait in line to reslove the issue. Also i was charged a late fee for having the truck an additional day even though i brought it back on the correct day just later than the time that was on my contract. I understand the reason for late fees just seems like a poor way to treat customers
Perhaps the California location could be different, and maybe more caring and professional than the NY location. The person who cleared the return was very understanding of what I had endured during my trip from NY
I've rented from this location many times. The staff there is helpful and friendly. When returning the vehicle after hours and through the app. The process needs to be simple and quicker. Sometimes the app cannot read the drop off location and takes way too long to process. It's also a bit frustrating that the app does not save your general info when logging in to reserve truck. If you want customers to use it more often make it super easy and quick.
I do wish that there was a bit more of emphasis on the fact that most vehicle insurance policies do not cover "commercial vehicles." I discovered this after I declined coverage with U-Haul (it is very expensive IMHO) and had to go back, pay for an extra day and have contract cancelled and rewritten.
Rent tow hitches instead of selling them
Our truck stalled 8 times. When we brought it back, the guy said that there was 1 truck which had problems & needed to be repaired. I don't think the office knew abt this. Why would they rent it out? Lack of communication btwn Office & maintenance. I think I was overcharged also. I had a $10 discount to start with b/c The 10 footer I had ordered wasn't back yet so the nice man said well I'll give you this other truck that you could take now and I will only charge you $19.95. That was very nice but I'm sure he didn't know that the truck was going to stall that many times just going a few miles away. All in all we drove about 14 miles round-trip which was to the storage place then my apartment then back to the U-Haul to turn the truck in. When I took the truck in the lady at the desk said â€œ You already got a $10 discountâ€œ so I had to explain to her why because the gentleman that took me in the morning wasn't there maybe he was on lunch. But when I told her it stalled 8 times I didn't get much of a reaction from her and she wouldn't give me another discount because she kept saying I already got a discount. I thought she was rude. My son and myself felt unsafe in this truck and that's why we didn't even top off the gas because we were afraid it was going to stall again and it did while we were pulling into the U-Haul facility. At 14 miles we only used an inch of gas anyway, it was still on full. I wish that gentleman was there the one that was there when I checked in and not the woman that we encountered while checking out. The maintenance staff was nice and said they were going to look into the truck truck for repair and that it shouldn't be stalling so many times. I didn't need to be greeted with â€œ you already got a discountâ€ and have to re-explain the whole incident. Well she said she didn't charge us for the gas. Well we didn't really use gas if it was the speedometer was still on full, so to me that's not much of a discount for a truck that stalled 8 times. I was very disappointed, but it got the job done. But next time, there's a problem with the truck the maintenance The office staff need to communicate with each other.
We don't use Uhaul a lot. However, when we do, there has always been some kind of mix up. It's always been taken care of but for once, I'd like to go in and get what I reserved without any issues. Also, the manager, Traci, could be a little more personable. She just sits back, popping her gum like â€œwell, sorryâ€. The other employees are way more helpful and personable that she is.

Had a truck ready for me extremely quickly. Interior was thoroughly cleaned. Truck was in good shape and the AC work great even though it was 105Â° outside. Staff was friendly. Drop off procedure was extremely easy. Amazing job.

I was told the store opened at 9am. I had a long day of moving so I scheduled a truck to be ready before hours and I pick it up with my cell phone and instructions. Well I get there at 8am the store front is open and someone is getting into my truck. I try to tell the employee and he says oh well we'll get you another. Mind you there is a big line in the store and I'm on a tight timeline. The owner then comes to us we tell him what happened and that we were upset about it. He says â€œ I wouldn't come to you and blindside you with my personal problemsâ€ PERSONAL PROBLEMS!?! I said this is your business and we are customers paying hundreds of dollars. It was ridiculous. Never going to Canyon country U-haul again and if you are reading this, don't go there!
The guy was a little passive aggressive but I get it. There was around 6 people in line and other employees just kept walking by and not helping anyone
